The lights are LED battery operated and they were originally placed on with Velcro dots, but later they were permanently glued on with E6000 to keep little hands from messing with the batteries. What did you use for wood? In your opinion would it be safe to buy any piece of wood
We just used solid wood cabinet doors, but yes...any smooth solid wood would work.
