Nicely done. That inside corner at the armrest is typically not wrapped in, so it won't bunch. you can leave it hanging since the armrest will cover it up. A layer of1/4 foam cut and tack glued onto the base can help smooth out the stretching too and gives it a soft feel. Easy to find foam backed black vinyl too. Lastly, if your staples are too long, driving them in at an angle can help eat up that last bit but a lot harder with a hand gun than an air gun. You can also just fold up pieces of the vinyl and put them as backers instead of the cut cardboard. Easy way to use up scraps.
Can't say enough Chris---Another Great How-To video for us Newer guys...& Gals. Your Experience Shines Through. One of my, soon to be, next projects...Thank You
Thank you Chris I'm restoring/customize my ,89 GT and still need to do door panels I lighten interior to med grey, charcoal carpet with charcoal on outer part of seats w/factor grey tweet inside
Different take, but the panels look good! I ended up using a set of 92-93 one piece black panels on mine and I added carpet to the bottom of them, replacing the map pockets. I also used sheet vinyl to recover the dash pad and console cover since they were damaged and I just felt they would hold up better in my car. Great job putting it all together!
As you were spraying the word “Mustang” on the panel, I smelled paint and it turned out to be my wife painting her nails. 😂 I almost freaked out that I could smell paint over the phone. 😂
Awesome restore video man, have u ever restored the rubber on the seat adjuster? Mine started to break it doesn’t look like there’s a replacement for it
