i've been thinking about this one for a while and it finally came together when i sat down to edit this weekend. i wanted to do something along the lines of hailey's "origin" story. her development is incredibly fascinating to me and i sort of wanted to explore the traumatic things that have informed her decision to become a cop and the struggles she's had balancing it all along the way. i think voight really did say it best when he said "you're good at this job for the same reasons you're bad at it."
how strange for our greatest strengths to also be our greatest weaknesses.
hailey could've let her trauma get the best of her, yet she chooses to serve and protect others the way she wasn't as a child. the heart is a mysterious thing. i could talk about it for hours. that being said, this is probably my favourite hailey edit i've made yet. also peep the ironic twist from beginning to the end. very interested to see what happens with hailey & voight's dynamic in season 9.
also another note: i decided to use external footage from a mix of other tv shows, movies, stock footage, and real life footage to add to the story i was trying to tell here, so i hope you enjoy!

Im in full blown tears. Hailey deserves everything and you brought her past to life
So haunting but also so beautiful to see how much strength she's shown in trying to overcome her past. Here's to Hailey having a LOT more happiness in S9 and seeing her learn more about what love truly is from Jay.

I loved how you used other parts of episodes from different seasons to just show her past but not in an obvious way if that makes sense.
I feel very connected with Hailey's story and this season make me think a lot about myself. Glad they are telling this story on the show. Tracy of course is amazing. Great great work, love your video.
