This is much more advanced than the battery testers sold a few years ago. A must for anyone with an EV as the 12v battery is crucial or you are going nowhere as my friend found out in his Porsche Taycan. You would think that with all the onboard dignostics that monitoring the 12v battery would be included, but not in a Taycan, you only find out when the doors won't unlock. Then you need a mobile tech to reset everything before the car will start again.
Yup, the 12volt keeps the computer running. No computer and no open da door. Saw my first mobile charging van today. A panel truck with a generator in it to charge up stranded ev drivers. That might be a nice job. Go for a drive and charge up stranded ev at the side of the highway and then I thought about it for a minute. You are a sitting duck while plugged in to the stranded car waiting for some distracted driver to plow into you while you want for the battery to charge.
@@12voltvids You would also be a sitting duck if the EV you were charging decided to self ignite. We have just had a tragic incident here in the UK when a brand new Volvo hybrid went into self ignition. The rear doors would not open, and the driver suffered 60% burns rescueing his grandaughter from the rear child seat. How many more incidents will it take to force the fitting of mechanical door handles on all of doors.
@@12voltvids In this case the front doors were already open, it was the rear doors that refused to open. The fire started in the rear seat beside the childs safety seat, time was of the essence, both could have lost their lives. If the rear doors could have been opened by a mechanical linkage the burns sustained would have been far less. Nothing to do with educating yourself as to how to open the front drivers door with a key. This is a classic example of poor design with little though given to escaping when the electrical circuits have failed.
The problem here is he bought a Porsche. You can't say Made in Germany and Reliability in the same sentence. FYI I have owned German cars, that was a mistake I won't make again LOL. I found out the true meaning of BMW, Bring Money Weekly, and MB = Money Burner.
3:05 does that battery happen to be from a Bell ONT power supply? I've installed many of those. Now I come across many that are beeping cuz they are bad, but since I'm a contractor for the competitor, I just open the door and disconnect the positive lead if they don't have active service.
Its from a telus ont. Only put these in now if they have active phone service with either a hardwired phone, hardwired alarm or a lifeline that uses phone.
@@12voltvids I'm surprised you know that rule! That was the same rule when I was contracting for BellMTS. Whenever I'd be out on a service call for something unrelated, and the customer would say Bell won't replace them for free, I'd swap it anyway. A company worth billions can afford it lol. These giant corporations don't care about customers at all.
I don't know if you have many videos on MacroVision, I remember seeing the one with TBC in your Videonics mixer and MacroScrubber combo but not much else.
I don't and there is a reason. I got a community guideline strike and the video was taken down for a video I did showing how o e operated. Apparantly showing how to disable or circumvent copy protection is a big no no. UA-cam can take your entire channel down for repeat offenses. This is also why you don't find too many videos showing how to set up Android boxes. I did one showing how to set up a dual boot and because that dual boot was to have kodi booted they demonetized that video. Had about 275000 views when they took away monetization. I disputed but they said that kodi was piracy software and their decision was final. I tried to argue that kodi was nothing more than a media player and people use it to play offline content like home videos and photo slide shows on non smart TV, and not everyone pirates and they said too bad so sad our decision is final. So I won't touch those topics. Too much at risk with the snowflakes at boobtube
30 milliohms doesn't seem too bad for one of those backup batteries. If you draw 100 watts it will only drop 0.3 volts. For a 500 watt UPS it's not good enough but for an ONT it should be fine. And nice story about the video correction devices. I know there are US laws (DMCA) against trafficking in certain devices but I thought it was fine in the rest of the world.
All kinds of goodies! Liked the oscilloscope on the other video, too! Great!

@@Barbarapapethey have manual door releases. Just some don't educate rgemsekf as to where the handle is on the door.

I would hope I know the rules considering I am the senior tech for the area. Senior in more ways than one. 😃
A great video to accompany my XL coffee 😁👌

This should be able to measure esr too.

The units were never illegal here but talking about them on UA-cam breaks dmca so they will take your video down.
