Budget Engine Bay Mod For The GR86

- Hello my name is Justin Ackerman, and this is my 2023 Toyota GR86. In this video i take off the factory black strut braces and repaint them with some heat resistant white spray paint to match the vibe we have going on with the blue and white. I honestly think they turned out pretty decent. I hope you enjoy the video.

Tbh I did get a bit of overspray on the tiles, but as soon as I got done painting the bars I moved them and cleaned the tiles instantly. Otherwise my dad would have killed my ass 😂 I fiqured it’s better than the garage being white 🤷♂️ Thanks for the support, and for watching 🤝💙
Cool mod! Not sure if you caught it but it looks like you put the passenger side brace on the wrong way. Flat side should've been face-down over the struts based on how they were before you painted them.

I will definitely make sure to update you all later in the future with how it’s holding up. To be honest I didn’t do to great of a job this time. If I were to paint it again the next time around i definitely could have done a better job. Thanks for the support though, and for showing love 🤝💙

Broo for real, I should have done this a long time ago. Or at least when I got my bash bar it would have been cool to do it then as well. I’m just glad I finally found a day to get to it and do it. Like you said, it was super easy to do. It was a matter of just taking off 8 12mm bolts, taking the bars out, painting them, and then reinstalling them. Truly was a super easy and DIY friendly job.
The passenger side bar is installed upside down.

Where did you buy the paint from?
Haha tbh I didn’t even buy this paint. My brother Jordan got it for me, but it cost around $12-$15 depending on where you buy it from. I know they have it at auto-zone that is where we got this can from. I would highly recommend it. I think it would have been cool to do paint match Neptune blue bars, but I don’t think I’d be able to find heat resistant paint in that color.
