I had a Carvin 4x12 loaded with gt12s. Not a bad cab by any means (I actually just bought another I found for $65 at a pawn shop with all 4 speakers in perfect condition) but, with 2 v30s in a X pattern that cab sounded the best of any cab I’ve ever had. I plan to now do that again and not ever let go of it this time around 😂
They say "Carvin Pro Series" on the back,@@SupersonicDragonWagon , so I'm sure you're right. At one time, in their ad videos on UA-cam, the stock speakers on later generation cabinets were Eminence GT12 100W 8Ohms. Maybe Carvin knocked them right off? Just so you know, Eminence doesn't list any speaker like that on their website! Thanks for the reply! For reference...ua-cam.com/video/vOr0KjS8diI/v-deo.html
Most were Eminence I believe Celestion made the gt12. When carvin was still carvin they wouldn't confirm nor deny but they would confirm the vintage 13 and British were Eminence made. They hinted the gt12 was Celestion made. I have lots of carvin gear. Used right Marshall guess get very jealouse. Fender also.

This helps.
You can definitely hear the difference in the mids. The Carvin is a bit more fizzy. I have both speakers and like both. Cool video
For sure. Putting them together is my new favorite!
Cleans to me sound better on the carvin. I have 2 v30s in a 4x12, love em. The gt sounds pretty good on the dirt, v30 bit better

Next question: Who makes the Carvin 100w GT12? I have a 212 stocked with them and would have no idea what to replace them with if I had to.
I always thought they made their own speakers. I tried to look it up but their was no info on Google.

The two together would be an excellent combo.
Throw the v30 in the garbage. Metal only I hate that speaker.. Ugh.
Celestion in my book sounds better not by a lot tho.
