  • Got myself a new camera finally! After a few weeks of making do with my Samsung S4, now I'm recording this with a proper camera. And what better way to celebrate than with THE Oxblood Jazzmaster by Fender for the great Mr Troy van Leeuwen.
Hope you enjoy the cover. It was one of the first few songs that stuck in my head for a good few months. ...Like Clockwork is a masterpiece!

Jigglypuff God You must be a God to be seeing what I'm practicing right now. Trying my best to nail the tones and all the weird parts in it. Sorry for the delay!

Nice job, man. Your tone sounds very similar to Troy's. Question: what gauge of strings are you using? Does Your Jazzmaster stay in tune for the most part? What amp are you using? Thanks in advance and I ask these questions because this model, Troy's model, is a Mexican made Jazzmaster that comes with quite the heavy price tag. That said? it's loaded with the American made parts and accessories, which is a plus.

It stays in tune very well. Even when I tune down to Drop D. As for string gauge, I use .10s cause it's quite a short scale guitar.
People do complain about the first string (high E) being very close to the edge of the fretboard, but I have yet to find that as an annoyance. Overall, the guitar's great for a MIM. To be honest, in this day and age… MIM are good too. :) I have played scrappy American-made strats, just to realise a Japanese or Mexican that plays better.

considering this guitar bigtime! what are the cleans like? and if you dont mind me asking, what amp are you using? thanks!

The cleans on this guitar are wonderful but I love how light overdrives behaves with the soapbar pickups on it. I was using a Fender Bassman modeller on this video. I wish I could play more of this guitar. Need to make a new video with it soon!!

I'm really late, but I got the guitar yesterday and it's amazing, it was quite expensive, especially for a Mexican made guitar. But I'll let Fender off because it's made with American parts, and is one of the best made Fenders I have played outside of custom shop. The finish is beautiful, Troy made a fucking great choice. And it sounds amazing. Way better than the classic players which sell for about £300 less (in the UK), but the Troy Van Leueewen feels more than £300 better. And the mustang bridge works great. I'm normally a Gibson guy, but this guitar had changed my opinion completely on Fender.

Glad that you got one! Currently, I have mine at my guitar doctor to get it set up properly. Kinda missing it a little. :(

+aenimic Luckily the guy at my local guitar shop set it up before I even bought it. So I've not had a problem so far ...
