Ooooh kay buddy, before I watch this, I'm gonna have to go back into your channel that I luckily randomly found in my recommended and see your truly beautiful work rise from the ground up 👍
The level of detail in the city looks very amazing and I like how dynamic the skyline is but the highway to the port seemed too enormous for such a low amount of cars, the European Historic District - something about it comes off as fake as the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas, and its regular shape looks better suited for something like the Forbidden City in Beijing, I suggest you look at the canal layout in the Low Countries, Palmanova (renaissance era and military structures are an exception for (ir)regularity) or Venice for inspiration. Oh, and the following is probably a matter of personal taste but the arch in that huge scale doesn't quite fit in a cemetery - I suggest you look at the Brothers' cemetery in Riga for inspiration - it's more horizontal and expansive rather than just vertical but if you do want verticality, then I suggest something more point-like like an obelisk. Holocaust memorials are usually very expressive as well, like in Salaspils and Kaunas. There were also some great ones in Poland and Czechia but I forgot their names, unfortunately. Or if you want a modern spin on it - Holocaust memorial in Berlin or the one in Canada by Daniel Libeskind. If you like monumentality, you can also look at the shapes characteristic of Oscar Niemeyer or in this book issuu.com/elza_aleksandra/docs/marta_stana/13 on page 26 and 67-68 there are some memorials designed by Marta Staņa that were never realized, however, these weren't supposed to be located in a cemetery per se.
Wow, thank you for the information and feedback! Yeah, there were many parts of this city that weren't realistic, and I knew that when I was building it. I just wanted to put my own creative spin on things as you do in a game of this stature, and also reflect the previous version of Foye that I built years ago, which had elements such as the European district and the large cemetery
You really deserve much more subs, this is a quality city that I believe is much much better than many other UA-camr's cities. This one video motivated me to subscribe and I hope others will too.
True, but Foye sits on Lake Foye (like a Great Lake) which is not expected to rise due to global warming. But if there's a storm, then the rocks help to protect it
im not a big player in cities skylines but I really like how people put so much effort in what they make without doing it for big money! YOU DESERVE 10k LIKES!!!
I took quite a bit inspiration from many Northeastern and Midwestern cities! (And also put my own spin in there.) So yes, a bit of Philly was in there as well!
Great series! I’m fairly new to Cities Skylines, and while I have the PS4 version, I’m looking to switch to PC because of all the assets and mods available. One question I have, what is the map that you used for Foye?
Can you make a video showing the mods and sertings you use for the visual effects? Im trying to make mine lool this good amd almost have it but not quite.
When the city was founded, settlers arrived on the middle peninsula and built up the core there. Over time, the city expanded outwards from there at a lower density
I originally had the camera go much slower, but it was much laggier that way, and the FPS was too low. However, I will keep this in mind for future videos. Thank you for the feedback
that downtown foye in the side of river, kinda unrealistic, why should the government create high rise commercial/office space in an unstrategic position...
When the city was founded, settlers arrived on the middle peninsula and over time, the city expanded outwards from there at a lower density. But the middle peninsula, where the city was founded, stayed dense and eventually became the downtown, full of skyscrapers
I would hate to drive down a road like this @1:56 with a stoplight and and intersection at every 100 feet... This city has some nice features but lacked realism...
The LOD distance is short, meaning that they de-render when you zoom out, which improves FPS and performance. I could get the mod which fixes that, but it would lower FPS
@@haidphone11 The main one is just too many and too crowded skyscrapers for my taste. I think itd had looked better if it was a bit spaced out with some open areas. I love the "Grand Marais" area at 1:18.

This is probably the best put together American city I’ve ever seen in cities skylines. I can only imagine how much you worked on this. GG
Builds this city:
City Skylines: Mmm yes we give you a population of 468, take it or leave it.
I saw about a grand total of 5 cars driving around! It's so alive!
Yeah, I deliberately kept the population low to increase performance, so there are less vehicles on the road which increases performance
Cause they don't understand population density

Why the core of the city so far away from the median of the city?
