A lot of modern rock bands really don’t quite get the old classic rock sound or vibe (not that they’re bad), but these guys get it spot on and still sound fresh and new

I don't blame the bands personally... I blame it on modern production methods. I've been studying music production for the past four years, and the methods of today are nothing like those of the '70s.
Back then the bands were usually laying down the core track live in the studio, and overdubbing additional parts later. That meant inevitable spill between instruments that tends to "glue" the band together and flesh out the sound. Today's engineers try to isolate everything as much as possible.
I also think bands are recording in over-treated spaces too, where modern studios sound too sterile and lifeless. You look at a lot of classic albums from the '70s and they were recorded in far from ideal, makeshift spaces, usually using the Rolling Stones Mobile or something similar to track everything externally...
Dirty Honey is one, the other 2 off the top of my head are Greta Van Fleet and Rival Sons

Tubes in amps, live drums. Real deal rock n roll! None of this coldplay shit.

Ya know when ya hear a new band and know within the first 10 seconds if they rock or not?
Well here it is, took me less than 10 seconds of hearing this on the radio in the truck and i had to pull over to do an internet search.
This band KICKS ROCK IN THE BALLS.

This is one of the only legit rock bands operating today. I saw them multiple times in 2022 in the Chicago area. They sound like this throughout the entire concert.

@Dangerz Own Zep were ripoffs too, dont forget that. And Greta Van Fleet have a few songs that arent really Zep inspired. They're both fairly new. They will find their own sound. But they're different than most other rock bands coming out today, and that's a good thing

Saw these guys at a tiny club in WI this summer. They were great! Met the bass player before the show & the rest of the band after. I requested "Last Child" after seeing a vid of them doing it. Not only did they play it for their encore, they even dedicated it to me! Fuck yea!! See you guys in Chicago & Milwaukee Feb 2020!

Saw these guys live last night - they opened for Guns N Roses. They were simply AMAZING !!! They sound just as good live as they do the recording.
On my drive home tonight, I was in a pretty low place with a lot on my mind. Wasn't listening when this band introduced themselves before the song, but somehow the back of my mind heard "our new single" as the song caught my attention and took my mind from the shit place it was in, I was like "there is no way this is a new song, its giving me some 80s vibes might be a song I just havn't heard before?" So I kept listening and at the end of the song they introduced themselves again, "We're Dirty Honey and you just listened to our new single" a 20min ride back home I kept repeating that in my head to make sure I remembered it to find this video. I'm a fan now!!!! Great work! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Very retro in their groove. It's the shit. Reminds me a little of bands like Dangerous Toys, Tesla, Guns n' Roses, Driving N' Crying, and of course AC/DC.

Tesla was my first thought when I heard him sing on UA-cam…saw them live and got an overall Candlebox vibe on a couple songs.
They remind me of a band from LA from 8-10 years ago and I cannot remmenber their name but they only had 1 hit and was on tour with a big band opening up for them. Singers sound alot alike too. Wish i could remember their name and i may have theior CD too ? Dirty Honey Kicks A-- !!!

Saw them perform in Grand Rapids, Michigan earlier this year and the show was awesome. One of my new favorite bands
I stumbled across these guys and wow! I love their bluesy rock sound. Easily the best new rock band I've heard over the last 10+ years. You can hear influences from the best rock bands of the 70s and 80s yet they have their own sound. I can't wait to hear what they do next!

Damn people can we stop making comparisons with every damn new band that comes along. Every band has their influences and those influences may shine through from time to time, but damn... this is Dirty Honey, they create their own music and have their own sound. A much needed return to traditional rock, whatever that means to you.
Yeah im tired of hearing all the comparison crap myself...this is just good old school Rock...all these bands (Dirty Honey, Greta Van Fleet etc...) grew up listening to certain bands and that music has influenced there music, just like bands before them.

Keep doing what you feel is right with your music and don't let anyone tell you what we want. When they try, point them to Rush's 2112. They were told fans didn't want long epic fantasy music. They did it anyway. 2112 Is now heralded as their breakout album. Follow their example and let the music take you wherever it needs to. We will be with you for the ride.

I see a lot of people mentioning a Tesla sound but when I heard this, I instantly thought of one of the most incredible blues rock albums of the 80s, Badlands. I see a bit of the Tesla influence as well, but I hear a lot of Ray Gillen as well. Any way you slice it though, it's good to hear that blues influenced hard rock back in 2019.
These guys are a breath of old school fresh air. I saw them in Cleveland opening for Alter Bridge. I agree with the Badlands reference but have you heard of Cry of Love? That's the first band I thought of when i was at the show.....
