In 2013, French industrial conglomerate Alstom's executive Frederic Pierucci was arrested, and Alstom was then"dismembered" by the U.S. Five years later, Huawei's CFO Meng Wanzhou was also arrested and Washington is trying to ban Chinese telecom giant Huawei around the world. Now Meng has returned, but America's suppression of other countries' tech development continues. How many more "prey" will fall into the "American Trap"?

Yeah, I think that last statement from him said it all -"the difference is that Huawei can count on the support of the Chinese government". Whilst France left the company to fight against the US government, for fear of offending its "ally". Well, I guess France is in no doubt now what its "friend" actually thinks of her.
And it happened again to France with AUKUS. Question is how many more stabs can France take before they explode?? But without Germany on their side it will be difficult. Then again EU members are equally selfish as evident during the 1st wave of Covid. The West must be wondering how on earth did Russia and China grew so close and trustworthy of each other.

The vast difference is that the Chinese Government at no time abandoned Ms. Meng, whereas the French Government threw Alstom under the bus. Undaunted, Ms. Meng herself declared that this whole episode was 'an invaluable experience'. The best is yet to come from her. I really believe this.

Perhaps 20 yrs ago China would have to suffer another humiliation. In 21st Century Great China is strong enough to repel USA evil deeds to Toshiba and Alstom. Without Iron man like President Xi Dada Huawei would have been swallowed by the Americun AT&T for free and Meng Wanzhou would be deported to US jail with hefty fine. Only with a strong Motherland and strong President Xi Jingpin US cannot talk to Great China with strength but mutual respect and understanding. Most of the countries banning Huawei are doing so out of fear, including European & Asian allies. The long term result is a world divided into two distinct spheres with different global standards.

Not the younger generation. My dad use to be a host family for Chinese international students, he said only 1 student wanted to stay in Australia because of love. Every single one of them went back home after they finished their studies. They don't see Aus as a big market or have much opportunities like before. Time has changed. And my dad have been hosting for 6 years until Covid hit.

In short, Australia has become a high-cost nation, suitable only for the moneyed people and if you are not loaded with cash, forget about a comfortable life there. And if you bring a lot of cash to Australia, it will be taxed by the government. As they say, their tax department is so efficient that if you failed to declare even 1 cent in your bank account, they will come after you. It is perhaps the only nation in the world where you cannot cheat the government on tax! Their government knows all your money unless you stashed it under the bed because it is mandatory for all Aussie financial institutions to report all balances to the government at all times.

If it's use to build infrastructures, hospitals, schools, or goes towards medical I am actually happy about that. But the reality is not, the current gov is corrupted as ever. And even though the middle class and working class get taxed adamantly, I don't see new Covid hospitals, specific quarantine housing, or continuously public cleaning when we really needed it. We put people in hotels that are not made for Covid and people there eventually all get sick... Our trains and their system are getting so old, our internet, airport and even roads are unkempt. There are projects trying to fix things but it usually takes decades, so you fix one part and it gets old by the time you finish the next bit... This is bad leadership.
