    I bet those 4 inch crappie kickers would catch some 3 pounders in that muddy water at Grenada Ms.

    Cool video and some good tips. I do some crappie fishing to use them as catfish bait, so these tips are helpful.

    Awesome fishing Jeff and Mark! Now, were you guys slow trolling the baits or were you simply dead-sticking them in place when you got all those hits from the crappie?

      @Samiam was fishing some large sized live leaches I'm Mille Lacs Lake for walleyes. Kept getting bit Bobber kept going down, set the hook, nothing. My buddy kept saying let them eat it, so I let him eat it bobber down set the hook couldn't hookem, switched up to a smaller jig with a small twister tail soon as it get down to the bottom bobber would go down set the hook started pulling up jumbo perch. Don't know if that 4 inch would work but definitely 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" should work on yellow perch. That little spike tail is pretty hard to resist.

    There is science behind crappie using sight to see baits primarily. Such as prisms in their eyes to see in the UV spectrum. You are now saying they have lateral lines such as Largemouth to detect baitfish? If so how is it you deadstick in the winter and still get hits. Also if they use "lateral lines" why not have one inch "kickers" with rattles? How exactly do they smell in water? Lets be honest with customers. Crappie are sight feeders they will see larger baits easier period. Brighter colors in muddy water with action they will see them easier.

    • @FLEFLYChannel
      @FLEFLYChannel  9 років тому +2

      TheEmtb76 1) Crappie might not have a visually refined lateral line like a bass but all fish have them and Crappie use them. 2) Fish smell and taste with their taste buds. 3) I have never tried a rattle, but there is no doubt that a 4 in bait moving in the water pushes more water around than a 1 inch bait would. Moving water creates vibrations and sounds. We are hones with customers. We have 1000's of happy customers. Bright colors in muddy water..... That makes sense..... Thats why we build them the colors we do .
