Good observation. I tried to respect privacy of my friends living in the system, just for the video. I had local visible on another character on second monitor, and corp mates playing in neighbouring systems for eyes :) Normally I have local chat open at all times.
Sorry for the late reply, yes, when they're about to kill a target, hold W and click next target to make fighters orbit even before they cycle their guns so they don't stop moving between targets.
Learning to rat in null now, and carrier is one of the choices, so thank you for the demonstration. Note with interest that the fit suggested by my alliance is REALLY heavily tanked. That's so a response can be mounted if you get jumped. Without a tank, carriers are surprisingly easy to kill with a bomber strike. With a tank, they still go down, but it can mean time to respond measured in minutes rather than seconds. Toyed with the idea of keeping a cyno alt on my base in system, just to be able to jump out in case of a drop. What's the closest you have been to death in null in a carrier?
Hi, thank you for the comment. Carrier ratting is relatively safe. You are most vulnerable while warping between sites, when you land and need time to align (use a 500MN MWD to speed that up). But from there on you are always aligned to a safe place. Just don't forget that you can not tether on structure with fighters out, so be ready to abandon them while warping if you left them out in space and you expect hostiles waiting for you at the structure. I lost a few carriers while doing stupid things like gate camping or getting baited into a fight, though I don't remember losing one while ratting. It is not unusual that I'm warping out right as an interceptor is landing in my site, because I tend to wait for my fighters to return till the last moment. I also have a cyno ready (well actually I'm too lazy so I just have a few beacons in mind as last resort if I need to jump out of system), and I also have a Huginn on my other character, that I can warp in, to web any interceptors to be able to kill them with fighters.
for a ratting fit, theres no need for any tanking modules, so you better swap those for more dps and/or better fighter tracking. you shouldent put more then one squad of fighters on any rats smaller then battleships aswell, because 1 more or less oneshot them anyway, so doing what you do, you waste alot of dmg
Those are very good points, thank you. My fit is more of a mixed bag, I used to use it also for small scale home defense in the past. It should withstand a small gang at least till reinforcements arrive. You could definitely turn it into more efficient ratting machine :) Spliting damage among multiple rats is also useful, for me it takes 2 cycles of all three squads to take down a cruiser (more or less exactly, so there is not much wasted damage), so for cruisers I leave them all on 1 target. For BCs it takes 3 volleys of single squad, so I usually split those 1 target per squad. Frigates I split randomly, 1 or 2 squads per target, as one squad is not enough to one shot them. And that's only cannons, I use missile volleys only on battleships, only one missile per target, that way it lasts for the whole site. I'm too far from the site so recalling fighters to reload missiles is probably not efficient.
i used to rat like this with a regular caldari raven and torpedos... back in 2006 and make like 60m an hour
can you share your fit and your anomalies type? I was just buying a raven and looking for tips
@verosiachmedzaky3946 god thats been so long i forgot tbh.
No local window, seems a bit odd

I keep losing fighters when ratting. were you having them orbit between rats?
just keep them moving. Q them in space towards the next spawn location.
whats the BRM in X5-U?
Hey, thx for the video, did the W are for male the fighter orbit please? I always lose some fighter because my carrier lose the focus..

As much DPS as a marauder for twice the price!
more than twice the price
But far more safer
Pretty cool
Is this null?
yes
