    Happy New Year's Caleb, to you, your kids and your soon to be wife! Thank you for the inspiration, and encouraging myself to get in great physical health, and not focus on just impressing others that don't give a shit about me.
    Hope 2024 is a great year for y'all!

    happy new year Caleb, you are a true father and a wonderful role model for every guy out there that has never yet had that chance to be a father ( me included).
    i could have helped raise other people's family, but i said no to it. not because i would have tried to be a good guy to them, but i would have alway's been viewed as a bad guy to all of them. so i walked away and never looked back to those people. the real parent's ( not their children).

    I haven’t touched since 2007 and I don’t call myself an alcoholic either. I understand going to AA or therapy, especially when going through a lot of personal BS , to keep you from relapsing also.

    • @CalebLeverett
      @CalebLeverett  5 місяців тому +3

      I’m happy for people who never relapse by persistently going to meetings, but I personally like my own approach of merely making up my mind that all alcohol is poisonous to humans. I genuinely want to live a very one time, so therefore it is extremely easy for me to never get tempted to relapse.

    I've been to AA as of last summer, video zoom. Runs on my Dad's side. At 26 going on 27 alcohol is one of those things I still haven't managed to really figure out exactly.

    I watched most of this but I still didn’t understand the reason for going to AA if you are 1) not an alcoholic and 2) fully recovered. Sorry if I missed the explanation.

      My guess is to hang around people in recovery to help yourself and those around you? Or it could be just a filibuster.

      He went because the new female in his life goes to them on the regular. She pressured him to go. So he went. He must really like this chick because nobody can tell Caleb anything. He knows it all.

      If he isn’t an alcoholic the better way to approach this would be Al-Anon, it’s for people with family members who are alcoholics or you just want understanding of this disease. For the second one, I’d say no one is ever fully recovered, I’m currently attending AA and we have people go in who haven’t drank in 20 years and no longer have the temptation, but they go cause it’s a great reminder that 1 drink is too many and 1000 isn’t enough.

    • @sarahjane8949
      @sarahjane8949 5 місяців тому +4

      Many alcoholics who are no longer drinking will go to AA for the rest of their lives to keep them focused on never drinking again 💯👍

      @@kmay2263 you’re not all wrong. 😂 I used to talk about going to AA on the podcast last summer after people kept attempting to correct me when I said that I am no longer an alcoholic and am fully recovered. I wanted to see why they said that.

    you should have gone to AA long before. as you have said before, you used drugs, AA is not just for alcohol. it's for anyone dealing with that type of stuff.
    i have a dad who is a recovering crack addict. he hasn't touched the stuff at all since he stopped, not even tried to go back. but yet he says he is still "recovering" if you are fully recovered, as you said, you have no want or desires at all to touch the stuf. so unless you don't think about alcohol or the other drugs you use to do, you're not fully recovered. it takes lots of time and constant work

    • @CalebLeverett
      @CalebLeverett  4 місяці тому

      I am fully recovered. I enjoyed that particular AA meeting, but I have about as much interest in going back as I have to drink again, which is zero. I’m glad it helps people who need it. It just isn’t for me.

    • @joshplayzgamezz
      @joshplayzgamezz 4 місяці тому

      @CalebLeverett Again, AA can be for more than just drinking.
      I'll never myself need it, as I can see when I need to keep things balanced with regards to drinking and drugs.
      are you still fully clean, both with drinking and all drugs?
      if so, then I congratulate you on doing so and maintaining it. however, if you still do partake in any substances as that, then perhaps one should consider how to apply the 12 steps or the ideals of the AA program and think on how to apply it as well.
      again, this comes from someone who does partake, but I also have no children or stepchildren, and at the chance of me having a stepchild at one point, I got 100% clean that same week.

    • @Enoughalready20237

      She never was abusive. That’s Caleb’s narrative. He employed every parental alienation tactic possible acting like he was’fighting for his kids’ when he actually was the one causing the discord and encouraging the boys to be disrespectful to Mom and step-dad. She left him because he was an abusive alcoholic who admittedly just got sober three and a half years ago. I’ve never seen Caleb accept responsibility for ANYTHING. It’s always the governors fault, the courts fault, the Mom’s fault.
