Tom Cruise has been playing the role of super-spy Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible since all the way back in 1996. With over two decades of crazy stunts and epic action scenes, there have also been some weird decisions made by the filmmakers. What was up with all the slow motion and doves in mission impossible 2? Why did they bring Jeremy Renner on board? What's up with Henry Cavill reloading his arms? For answers to these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to mission impossible!

Mission Super Easy Barely An Inconvenience.
wstine79 it really was a missed joke. 🙄
Pretty much the greatest missed joke of all time.
Damm you just won the comment section!!.
or Super difficult, very much an inconvienience xD
wstine79 Genius!
"Who's the bad guy?"
"He's an ex-secret agent who has turned evil for no good reason."
"And which movie is this?"
"All- all of them."
Damn they should definitely have had him say that XD
He says “yes” instead of “All- all of them”
looooll
What about the guy from the 3rd movie? Pretty sure that guy was an illegal arms dealer
@@aychazyt6987 Hoffman was an arms dealer, but he was killed off and the ultimate bad guy was Billy Crudup, Ethan's boss.
Studio executive: soon we’ll just be able to make a whole movie with him just running!
Mission Impossible: Run Time
I'd watch it
100% day 1 watch.
"We brought in Jeremy Renner just in case Tom Cruise ever wanted to leave the franchise."
"That was smart. So how did that go?"
"Jeremy Renner left the franchise."
Who would replace Tom Cruise just in case Tom Cruise accidentally kills himself with a stunt that's just a smidge too dangerous?
@@tintinismybelgian -
Miles Fisher, who is basically Tom Cruise's twin brother
Wasn't Tom the producer in this series?
@@steveclapper5424 "Wasn't Tom the producer in this series?"
Good Freaking Grief. That makes SO much sense now.
I just Goggled it, and you're absolutely right.
No wonder this franchise became all about Tom Cruise.
@@steveclapper5424 Now i'm honestly surprised that it wasn't written, directed and edited by Tom Cruise as well.
“There are at least 5 min of runtime devoted to runtime” 😭
Someone should edit it all together and slap on some Benny Hill music.
@@austenhead5303 I think they may have enough for that secret feature-length 🏃 movie already....
And motorcycle riding lol
Why are you crying?

Tom Cruise running is tight.
Tom Cruise running in tights... woops...
Woopsie!
Mission Impossible: Jumping on a couch.
Barely an inconvenience.
can't catch me gay thoughts
Tom Cruise running in tights!
"here's the thing that people don't really know. I'm not that good at my job" - this is the most relatable line I've ever seen!!
Depressingly accurate for a depressing amount of people
Everything A lot of other depressing people seem to forget that humans are humans and humans make human errors.

Whoopsie!
You mean "heard"?
That feeling you get when you can tell how old a pitch meeting is just by how fast Ryan talks...
It's more the voice for me, I can tell by how he sounds, not necessarily the speed.
"They are all basically Mystique from X-men" never noticed that xD
Wow I never noticed how completely different the movie director and the CEO of the company look... you know, they kind of remind me of Superman and Clark Kent... totally different.
Soccer! If by different you mean, exactly the same but one has glasses.
Of course they look different, its 2 people
Aaron Siewert whoosh
Soccer! I’m sure to make him look different it was super easy barley an inconvenience
It's odd that you used those two people for comparison
More like Mission: Actually Super Easy Barely An Inconvenience

Oh really?
"Actually Super Easy Barely An Inconvenience" is *TIGHT*.
@@timbuktu8069 - Wowwowwowwow!
"Who are you gonna get to play Arm-Recharging Man?"
"I was thinking Henry Cavil."
"The guy who plays Superman? I don't want people to confuse the two. Have him grow a mustache."
"Good idea. There's no reason the guy who plays Superman would need to shave off a mustache."
"Mustaches are tight."
Arm-recharging man 😂😂😂😂
Which is strange, because Henry Cavill actually plays two different people in the Superman movie by just using glasses for one, I wonder if anyone would notice its him even without the mustache...wowowow these two movie industry guys really think of everything, very thorough
@@Zhengrui0 if superman would grow his mustache I suppose even Lois Lane won’t recognise him 😂
There is a 1967 episode of The Avengers called: Mission ...Highly Improbable.
Wow, that's like some kind of weird cross-franchise mashup that has nothing to do with either the *MCU* or the original _or_ current *Mission: Impossible* franchises!
I love it!
@@Mentocthemindtaker Since the Mission Impossible TV series premiered in 1966, it probably was a direct reference.
there's also a level in the 1990's game Jetpack for MSDos called: Mission possible
That’s cool
And the 1984 game Impossible Mission.
I was concerned that there would be spoilers for Fallout, but you guys made stepping around those look Super Easy.
yeah, luckily. I was kind of shaming them for talking about movies that just hit theaters because I cannot/won't watch it. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone.. maybe they listened, who knows.
Barely an inconvenience...
I think watching the previous movies would have been more of a spoiler
John my point exactly.
@John the Bastard
This deserves more thumbs up! You beautiful bastard!
Something I like about the mission impossible franchise is how pretty much every question can be answered with spies. For example:
“How did they know that?”
Because they’re a spy
“Why can they fight so well?”
Because they’re a spy
Etc
Reminds me of the FF franchise in wich skills the crew have can be explained by: 'they used to do underground street racing'. Though to be fair it makes way less sense.
Rechargeable arms are TIGHT!!
How do someone's arms get DIScharged in the first place? Do they just get tired from doing reps with dumbbells?
On Henry Cavill they are! 🥰
@NonyaBusiness! Fairy nuff
Please get all the way off my back of steel, sir
Am i misunderstanding some joke or am I the only one who knows that he did it to roll up his sleeves a little bit so that he has room to extend and retract his arm while punching
Mission Impossible is not complete without Tom Cruise running for 5mns.
HJL JR Do you think it was difficult for him to run that much?
And also, a motorcycle scene. Every MI movie has Tom Cruise on a motorcycle.
@@artman2oo3 no, it was super easy barely an inconvenience
5 min of run time...of run time
I wonder if anyone even remembers that Mission: Impossible was once a tv series with NO sprinting!
Yes
I even remember that in the tv series, Jim Phelps was NOT a traitor.
Yes. Some of the original cast members had cameos in the original film.
Been loving the tv series since I was a kid. Been ignoring the movies since I made the mistake of watching the first one.
He couldn't poke too much fun at Fallout, it's a pretty perfect awesome movie
Fallout and rogue nation are both very good imo. Even ghost protocol

Why would anyone do any dam thing with 'Twilight'. Just saying it leaves a boring taste in my mouth.

I'm tired of saying it and this will be the last time.
First video of 2019 or the 1 year anniversary. We shall learn the origins of Super easy barley Inconvenience and it's revealed every pitch meeting video (excluding the actor videos) was in a script.
Giovanni Giovanni. super easy barley an inconvenience should be a pitch meeting inspired beer.
Pitch meetings is one of the most original well thought shows on UA-cam it's extremely witty and clever. Huge fan. keep up the good work

Impossible missions are TIGHT!
That recharging his arms line killed me 🤣😂🤣😂
Henry Cavill has been in many types of film including a 10 year stint as The Superman (I still think DC misused Jim,as he could have been the definitive 'man of steel') but the thing that will always come to mind was the bathroom scene 'Henry Cavill 'reloading' his arms ..
Iconic !
Thank you for finally taking my suggestion!
These pitch meetings are the reason life is worth living
Mission Very Difficult but at the End It's Okay: Fallout
The Max 😂🤣😀
"Brought Jeremy Renner in case Tom Cruise decides to leave"
"OH then what happened? "
"Jeremy Renner left the franchise"..... This was epic
The funny (or sad) thing is, it's very likely that no one saw Ethan climbing the Burj Khalifa from the inside, because most of the stories (especially the higher ones) are probably deserted. That's Dubai for you, a lot of expensive buildings, but barely any people who can afford to work or live there. Most of that metropolis is basically a huge sham.
Mission: is it possible
What happened to the googly eyes ? 🤔🤔
Was wondering about that too..

I love these videos, they always make my day!!! Can you do one on Psych the show or on Now you see me movies?
Dude, your channel is now officially Life! Awesome work! In fact, this channel is tight!

Knowing which actor will leave franchise at the pitch meeting is tight!
people often quote "barely an inconvenience" but for my money the "whoops!" "whoopsie!" always gets a laugh.
Tom cruise is amazing in this franchise 👌 He brought his A game
Great vid 😂
@William Slattery Thank you! He's basically been in the exact same movie for the last 20 years, lol. I honestly think the franchise would be reinvigorated if they got another actor, but Tom Cruises ego won't allow him to leave this franchise!
@Mr. Perfect Cell He was pretty damn good in Minority Report and Collateral to be fair
So, dear writer/producer guy, have you just discovered tv-tropes or have you been a loyal addict for a while, but it's only now starting to bleed in?
Awesome pitch meeting, thanks for the great fun, and the bug-eyed video pics still give me the heebie-jeebies.
Also: please do a pitch meeting for "Passengers". Have a great weekend!

Exec: it must be difficult for the Vampires to live since they can’t go outside during the day..
Writer: Actually super easy barely an inconvenience.
Producer guy:.... what are we doing?
Scriptwriter:Money remember?
The problem with cameras in high-security facilities is that the person watching the cameras needs to have as high or higher clearance than the clearance of the highly trained ultra-cleared individual doing the work in the high-security area. At some point, you have to stop using cameras inside a certain area in the facility and rely on other security measures as well as the cameras _outside_ that area.
Man, you're getting really good at these--you're making variations and self-references that are brilliant. Thank you. (Self-reference is *tight*, yeah yeah yeah!)
Not only did the room Ethan was lowered into in the first movie lack security cameras, it also lacked motion sensors.
"Whoops." "Whoopsie!" Always makes me laugh. 😂
Great as always, you make it look super easy, barely an inconvenience.
"Climbing rappers is tight"
If I wasn't from Pittsburgh, I wouldn't have got that reference.
I've been working my way through these and can't believe there's only one Mission: Impossible Pitch Meeting and it's SHORT. There are like 40 Star Wars PMs but 1 for M:I. Wow wow wow wow
Damn you Pitch Meetings once again you destroyed my favorite movie franchise to hilarious effect 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
It never occurred to me until now that the room from the first movie didn’t have cameras. I just enjoyed the stunt. 😂😂😂😂😂. Keep up the excellent work, more videos please
I didn't even watch ⌚ this yet and I love 😍 it. Ryan is just THAT CONSISTENT!
I know yall mostly do newer movies but more older ones would be cool to, for example Eurotrip, I'd love to see a pitch meeting for that

The reason that room doesn't have cameras in the first movie is, if I recall, because the information on the terminal is so incredibly sensitive that it's classified "eyes only", meaning that cameras are not allowed to record it.
At 3:30 i suddenly realized Hawkeye stole their technology and sold it to Hydra
