Can a Christian lose their salvation? In other words, once saved are you saved NO MATTER WHAT…YOU…DO?
Hey what’s up everybody? My name is Allen Parr and today we’re asking and answering the question, “Can a Christian lose their salvation?” Now on the surface this may appear to be nothing more than an interesting theological debate, but it actually has very practical implications that can affect the way you live your life on a daily basis.
On one hand people tend to go to the extreme which is called license. And license says, “I have the license (freedom) to do whatever I want to do. I can live like a heathen because I can’t lose my salvation anyway.” The other extreme is called legalism. And legalism says, “I’m not sure if my salvation is really secure, if I can lose it tomorrow or maybe I’ve already lost it. So I must work; I must do certain things every day to earn God’s favor and earn His forgiveness.
So I want to give you 3 reasons why I personally believe that once we are saved we are ALWAYS saved.
    1. Our Salvation is ETERNAL - Eternity Past - Eph. 1:4 - This scripture clearly says that before God even formed the world He chose us to be saved. In other words God looked down and saw every mistake you and I were going to make past, present and future and yet He still chose us. So when we say a Christian can lose their salvation what we are saying is that I can do something so bad that is going to catch God off guard to where now God is going to change His mind which implies that God did not know beforehand that I was going to do it.
    2. Our Salvation is not based on WORKS - Eph. 2:8-10 - So whenever we say a Christian can lose their salvation what we’re saying but we don’t realize that we’re saying it is, “Jesus whatever you did on the cross wasn’t sufficient. It wasn’t good enough. It was good enough to cover some of my sins but not all of them. So what I must do is take what you did on the cross which wasn’t good enough to cover ALL of my sins and add it to my good works (church going, tithing, abstinence, good deeds, etc.) (CROSS + LIST OF WORKS = SALVATION) and if I obey enough, give enough, serve enough, resist my sinful urges enough then between what I do and what you did I’ll get into heaven. The Bible says our salvation is a GIFT which means it’s FREE! We did NOTHING to earn it therefore there is nothing we can do to lose it. Why? Because if it were by WORKS that we were saved then when we get to heaven we could boast and say that we got there because of something we did.
    3. Our Salvation is secure because of God’s POWER
    a. John 6:39 says, “And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.”
    b. John 10:28-29 - These verses indicate that if God has enough power to save someone He has more than enough power to keep them saved and to preserve them.
    c. Love - Rom. 8:38 - When we say a person can lose their salvation what we are saying is that God’s love is like ours. It’s conditional. It’s conditioned upon what we do. And that reduces God’s love from being unconditional to human love which is conditional.
(There’s nothing in the Bible that clearly states at what time you lose your salvation or what you have to do in order to lose it.)
So, can you lose your salvation? I believe for these 3 reasons and many others I would argue that the Bible teaches that a Christian cannot lose their salvation.
    The biggest argument is…
(Instead of using eternal security as a license to sin and take advantage of God’s grace, instead use it as motivation to praise and serve God more because God didn’t have to choose you but He did in His grace and mercy.)
Now this is a VERY controversial subject and one that I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on so please drop me a comment below either on UA-cam or Facebook and let’s talk about it.

Everyone sins, let that be known. I think a sign of salvation is any Godly sorrow whatsoever for sinning. Even when you feel spiritually dry and keep on sinning, but part of you is still thinking "man, I hate that I keep disappointing God". Even during a dry season, those thoughts of anguish for hurting God and feeling disconnected is a sign of salvation. Even when you feel like God is far, but you want to be closer, that is a sign that you are still in His hands and that it's part of the journey. If it doesn't bother you at all, that's a problem. Keep fighting brothers and sisters.

Living in sin feels terrible, even when I tell a little white lie just to get off the phone I feel like a horrible person. You're always thinking if what you're doing or what you're about to do is wrong. This is a good thing because it means that the spirit of the Lord is in us. But unfortunately, we ARE born in sin. Adam sinned in the Garden. We are children of Adam, so we can not escape a sinful life. God already knew this and will forgive his children. All we have to do as saved Christian, is ask him for forgiveness because we do not seek sin, we're human and we make mistakes.

For someone who Struggles with the question "Am I really Saved" often.. this video was an absolute blessing to me. I have been a Christian and actively believed in Jesus since I was a little girl. But it wasn't until I got older I grew in my relationship with him and understood what Grace was actually for. I used to have the attitude that I am saved so I can sin and I will always be saved and will never be perfect. I have come to know this not what God says in the bible. He didn't take my salvation away from me while I was growing in him.. instead he used these doubts to help me live a life pleasing to him. Sin started to look more and more gross to me. It now causes me to feel ashamed and run from it instead of towards it. I realized God's Grace is not a license to sin.. but he is our advocate when we do sin. I now try my very best to glorify God in all ways. Not because I have to or because I feel like I would lose my salvation if I didn't.. but because God put the WANT TO in my heart. I was saved for good works but not because of my good works. Sometimes with my busy life as a full time employee/ wife and mother I don't have time to sit down and read my bible. So I pray and just have that relationship with God. But when I don't have my time with God I feel a disconnect and that's when the enemy starts putting lies in my head and causes me to doubt my salvation. I understand now why he tells us to put on the armor of God, because when those attacks do come.. and they do.. we can combat them with the truth.

If and only if we CONTINUE in the message we heard we will REMAIN/CONTINUE in Him and continuing in Him IS the promise of eternal life. It follows that if we turn away from Him and the message we will not continue in Him and we will no longer have eternal life.

"Thinking you can lose your salvation makes progressing in the Christian life extremely difficult, if not impossible. In fact, this thought can undermine your entire Christian life.
Let's see how this could happen:
When we sin, we naturally feel ashamed and regretful. This is a healthy reaction. But if we don't know that we can confess our sins to the lord and be washed and forgiven, then we don't know what to do with our sins. Our conscience becomes weighted down. And when we commit more sins, which we inevitably will, we may begin to think the accumulation of our sins undoes our salvation.
A question starts to eat away at us: "Am I still saved?"
With this question constantly bothering us, we become disheartened in our Christian life. Instead of rejoicing in our salvation, loving the lord, and pursuing him with an unburdened heart, we feel unworthy. We find it difficult to pray to him or read the bible. We become focused on ourselves, on our behavior and our failures, and begin to lose sight of Christ and all he's done for us. And in spite of our best efforts, we sin yet again. So our unconfessed sin starts to pile up, burdening our conscience even more and making us feel hopeless.
Sadly, at this point, some give up following the lord because they're convinced their Christian life has suffered irreparable damage. Feeling they've already lost, they think to themselves, "What's the use? I've already lost my salvation. Why try anymore?" This is a trick Satan has placed in their hearts, because he wants to make you think you've lost salvation, when the bible clearly says otherwise. So they give up, go back to their old lifestyle, and live as if they were never saved. But what they don't realize is that the blood Jesus shed on the cross. redeemed them and saved them ETERNALLY! And they don't know that same blood can also wash them of every sin they commit after they're saved. Jesus did not die one of the worst deaths in history, go through all of that torture, pain, suffering, beating, mockery, and everything else just to take back the FREE gift that HE PROMISES to those who believe! How much more complicated than that does it get? Of course, the lord doesn't want us to sin, and we feel guilty when we do, but when our conscience make us aware we've offended the lord, we're not left hopeless and helpless. We can and should simply confess our sin to the lord so he can forgives us and cleanse us from that sin. We can rest in the promise that God has made us. I've heard people say the OSAS is a false doctrine, and a lie from Satan and it's just not true. Nowhere in scripture does it ever say we can become unsaved. Jesus himself said, "No one can pluck them from my hand." NO ONE, not even yourself. You can't snatch yourself out of his hand. You are not more powerful than him. He promises he will never leave us or forsake us. EVER! The bible also says he seals you for the day of redemption. It does not say, he seals you until you sin, or he seals you until you screw up. No! If you COULD lose salvation, you would've lost it by now. Osas IS biblical, and anyone who says it's not has been deceived, because nowhere in the bible does it say you can lose salvation. It would have said so. It doesn't give hints.
    God bless you all

1 John 1:6 If we say we have FELLOWSHIP with Him yet WALK IN DARKNESS, we lie and do NOT PRACTICE THE TRUTH.
Christ provided us with a sacrifice that has the power to forgive us of our sin. However, we have the power to walk in the darkness in opposition to Him and the truth.
1 John 1:7 But IF we walk in the light as He is in the light, we HAVE FELLOWSHIP with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son CLEANSES US [continually] from all sin.
The conjunction IF introduces a CONDITION which we must meet if we are to (1) CONTINUE in FELLOWSHIP with Him and (2) CONTINUE being cleansed by His blood from all sin. This shows that the sins we committed while we were in the world are ALL forgiven when we first believe, ONGOING sins we might commit thereafter are forgiven and cleansed ONLY as we we walk in the light which represents God's nature of truth and holiness.
Specifically, what a believer to be cleansed of sin is to admit or CONFESS it to God:
…9 If we CONFESS our sins, He is faithful and just to FORGIVE us our sins and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness.
      (1 John 1:9)
You seem to think lapsed Christians who REMAIN in the darkness and refuse to obey this passage SHOULD BE forgiven anyway because "the blood of Christ "does not work TEMPORARILY" ignoring that the issue is not that the blood no longer works but the person NO LONGER GOES TO WHERE THE BLOOD FLOWS (in the light). Getting "in the light" simply means coming to Him with our sins exposed.
Is a believer who returns to the "darkness" and lives in it AS A WAY OF LIFE STILL SAVED? Well, let us look at an example. John writes that hating one's brother is WALKING IN DARKNESS (1 John 2:11) He also says that as long as we remain in the darkness we can be neither FORGIVEN or CLEANSED (1 John 1:6-9). In Matthew 18:21-35 Jesus reveals how a servant who HAS BEEN FORGIVEN can have their sin-debt REINSTATED if they hate their fellow-servants:
34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. 35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”
It is not as if the Lord's grace and forgiveness has "run out" or has failed. Rather, the servant 's sin has turned away from Christ's grace and forgiveness

Just to set the record straight, there will be TWO judgments in heaven. The Judgment Seat of Christ and the Great White Throne of Judgment. The first one will be rewards or lack thereof and what you did as a saved person and the second one will have all unbelievers cast into black holes in outer space.
And for those of you who don't believe in OSAS, let me ask you this: what sin or how many sins do you have to commit to lose it? At what point does it happen? Bottom line is you're trusting in good works to get you to heaven. Pentecostalism, which, by the way, is a very awkward and creepy denomination, believes in loss of salvation. Assemblies of God believe in getting saved, then maintaining your salvation and Church of God and UPC are works-based. Church of Christ is the same way too, only without the tongues and rock music in church.

I was just recently saved, I was really addicted to porn and masturbation before I came to Jesus. And because of that after my salvation so far I’ve fallen into this sin 2 times. Both times while it was happening I felt like a giant weight forming in my chest, and my skin got really hot, and I just knew what I was doing wasn’t helping in anyway, but my flesh and earthly desires got in front of my faith. I know the reason I felt that way is because I was consciously sinning. I was going against god knowingly. I still sin daily although I’ve gotten better especially when it comes to sexual sin. Sin is one thing people can never get away from, we were born sinners and we will die sinners, the only difference between birth and death is whether or not we trust Jesus. But if we genuinely believe in Jesus, sinning will seem disgusting to you even if it’s done unconsciously. So many times, I’ll be talking and I’ll say something and forget what I said seconds later and I instantly think “I hope I didn’t use gods name in vein?” Because I used to do it so casually it became a habit. I since then cut back on cussing, not a 100% but a very decent amount, I don’t think I ever take his name in vein although multiple I’ve been confused as to if I did or didn’t. I usually pray if sexual temptation is brought unto me and the times I didn’t pray I ended up giving in to the sin. I love god, and today I felt his presence. I was thinking about the rapture because it’s a very interesting topic for me and I was looking at the clouds from my kitchen window, and this very beautiful cloud that almost looked pink with the sunset in the background was the first one I noticed, and instantly I got chills. I could feel his presence with me because I get chills and goosebumps. I also get chills and goosebumps when I finish my prayer, something about feeling chills confirms his presence and it’s just so peaceful, and I feel safe. I hate sin, and I love righteousness but sometimes I sin, unconsciously, any tips on how to stop that?

Thank you for sharing.... I went through the same thing, I got saved a year ago and had a really strong relationship with God, I got delivered from my addiction with pornography. However, a year later, I suddenly gave into temptation once again, and I felt horrible 😫, ashamed with myself because I knew I was sinning against God. I felt a heavy conviction within me, and that can only be God. I've learned that when you sin and you no longer feel guilty or ashamed about it, it's a sign that you no longer have the fear of God in you, and possibly reached a stage of apostasy

Well I had a prophetic vision from God and he also told me “it’s not possible to lose your salvation”. But then in the vision my name was rewritten in the book as if it was erased. I really don’t understand. And then God told me “I sealed your faith when you were born”. Like I’m really confused. I don’t think it’s possible to lose your salvation. I think its wrong for a christian to think they have salvation even though they live a lukewarm, sinful christian life. A rich, selfish christian could say "I'm a christian" and think they are safe" but thats not what the bible says. Jesus said "my sheep hears my voice, I know them and they follow me". my definition of "being saved" is taking up the cross and following Him everyday. Once you are saved (baptized) you pick up the bible and read. Know who Christ is, do what pleases him. Obey his commands. The phrase "I love Jesus" is so easy to say, but do we really, truly love Him? John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments"
.John 15:2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. Matthew 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (hell).
Rev. 2:5 ‘Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place - unless you repent.

Here it says a person who was SANCTIFIED by the blood of Christ, meaning this person WAS SAVED but later trampled underfoot, or simply put, threw away and rejected the sacrifice of Christ and has outraged the Spirit of grace which is the Holy Spirit. and we know rejecting the Holy Spirit of God and this is the unforgivable sin because if you reject the Spirit of God, there is no more forgiveness for this because you are totally turning a way from God.

So? Does it mean we have to perform to earn God's grace then?
I've been christian too for long long time... And have seen the ups and downs of churches...
Living by the LAW is so gruesome.. it will just turn us into performance based christianity..
So many christians tend to became performance based believing that maybe their salvation can be lost..
On the other hand if they did so much well in obedience of the LAW... We as men have the tendency to compare ourselves with one another.. pride then sets in...
By saying i did this i did that... I have more bible studies... I have more cell groups... I am close to pastor because i accomplished everything by the book...
Oh oh.. such a performer are we...
      Hypocrites..
Are we already the new versions of Pharisee... We compare others by what we have done or by works?
The truth is this... Salvation is simple
Grace of course is not license to sin...
But our salvation is by Grace... You did nothing to earn it... God saved us not by our good works... But by what Jesus had done on the cross.. it is finished... We cannot add anything to it.. He paid it in FULL
However... If we sin as already knowing and have received the good news and the gospels...
Our sins doesn't mean go unnoticed.. or just go unpunished...
We are His sons and daughters... So expect God's discipline to correct us..
But .. don't think that just because we sin.. we loose our salvation..
      It is written .
That NOTHING can separate us from the love of GOD not even sin, hell or demons and angels..
But if we sin.. expect some chastisements... Haha simple yet true..
I just got tired being a pharisee christian... Doing works to get saved and boasting works because im so holy.. i didn't sin today .. it is so tiring.. don't live this way..
It is not by our works..
We are already accepted, we are loved, we are secured...
Just be real... Remove the mask of the Pharisees..remove religiosity..let us not be hypocrites....
      Obey God... love God..
      That's all...
I myself is neither perfect... But i know i am loved by God.. that's all that matters... I will not compare myself because... I fully know i am not deserving.. i am unfit..i am and was a sinner..i fully know my short comings..i know my weaknesses..so therefore i am unfit..
But by God's grace i am growing and changing my bad habits.. not because i did it... But because God is changing me according by His Grace... Not mine..

every time I weep for the division in the church.. Christians calling their fellow between agents of the devil. I am wondering what then can we believe in.. because each person has a biblical backing for his or her claim... only God can help us.
on the issue of a Christian losing their faith.. "God knows those who are his". and I believe that God who called us has d power to keep us. I see that at work in my life every day. we can't understand the power of grace and God's love. To say that it is impossible that someone is "saved" and then later "not saved" is not biblical at all. I would however say that if a person is walking in the Spirit and is "in Christ" then that person cannot become unsaved unless they walk away from God.

Jesus himself says that he will take Christians names out of the book of life who were once in the book. There are many who will say Lord Lord haven't we done this or that as Christians in you're name and Jesus will say to them "depart for i never knew you". Those saying Lord Lord were those who were so called Christians and they will be sent to the lake of fire. Jesus says narrow is the way to heaven and few there be that find it, and that the righteous scarcely make it to heaven so where will that leave the sinner. Once saved always saved is a damnable teaching and those who are lost to it will have this great sin placed upon those who are teaching it. Jesus says "you must endure to the end to be saved". I tell you the truth that you will be held accountable for teaching Christians that they can do whatever they want and still be saved. This teaching is not from the Lord.

And the passage you are referring to Jesus is speaking of people who were never Christians, not those who once were and lost it. Many people who think they are Christian really are not.

No my friend. The Lord himself has shown me that the "once saved always saved" teachings is a deception by Satan. I have stood next to Christ as he showed me that many will not make it to heaven because of this very same teaching. The bible teaches you can be taken out of the book of Life if you do not endure to the end and if you sin its up to the Lord's choosing. Many will be left behind who believe this. Faith without works is dead and profits you nothing and that is from an apostle of the 12 not Paul who was not a member of the 12 as Mathias was the 12th and final apostle. But, so you know, you can be taken out of the book of Life i will leave you some scriptures, and if you have eyes to see and ears to hear i pray it is made plain to you're understanding.

if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and
keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall
surely live, he shall not die. 22 All
his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned
unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 24 But
when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth
iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked
man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall
not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his
sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26 When
a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth
iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he
      die. 27 Again,
when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath
committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his
      soul alive. 28 Because
he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he
hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? 30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31 Cast
      away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed;
and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house

Some Christians believe that if a saved person enters into a sinful lifestyle and fails to repent then he will still get to heaven but will lose rewards. Their proof text is 1 Cor. 3:13-15 which say, “his work will be shown for what it is … the fire will test the quality of each man’s work … If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames”. Notice that these verses are referring to the testing of a man’s work, not sin.
If the passage in 1 Cor. 3-4 was talking about sin then it would be saying -
    I) Those who build with good, golden sins will be rewarded.
II) Those who build with not so good, straw sins will lose their rewards.
Of course this is ridiculous. Whoever heard of building a church with sin or God rewarding someone for sin? In this article, I would like to show that these verses are not speaking about sin in the least but about how we work to build the church on the foundation of the gospel of Jesus.
Beginning with 1 Cor. 1:11- 13 and 1 Cor. 3:1-8, these verses tell us that the Corinthians were fighting about whether they should follow Paul, Apollos or Cephas. Paul said that their focus should be on Jesus because men are mere servants with assigned tasks; one man plants, another waters and each man will be rewarded according to his own labour. Next, in 1 Cor. 3:9-11, he continues on to say that we are God’s workers, His field and His building (His church) and that he, Paul, has laid a foundation as an expert builder and each of us must be careful how we build on that foundation, which is Jesus Christ.
Then 1 Cor. 3:12-15 talk about how we build the church and warn that fire will test the quality of each man’s work. The verses say that we can -
    a) Build with gold, silver or costly stones and receive our reward or
    b) Build with wood, hay or straw and, although we will still be saved, our work will be burned up.
Building with gold, silver or costly stones represent good leadership and sound doctrine while wood, hay and straw represent poor leadership and unsound doctrine. Sin is not in question here.
So far, Paul has spoken about building the church with either good or poor leadership and doctrine but now he continues on to speak about bad leadership and doctrine which destroys a church. 1 Cor. 3:16-17 say, “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you [plural] are that temple”. The term “God’s temple” is referring to the church, the body of Christ, and these verses say that God will destroy anyone who destroys His church (see 2 Pet. 2).
Then, from 1 Cor. 3:18, Paul continues on to further warn us not to follow men. In 1 Cor. 4:6 he sums up what he has said so far (from 1 Cor. 3:1) by saying that he has applied these things to himself and Apollos so that we could learn the meaning of the saying, “’Do not go beyond what is written.’ Then you will not take pride in one man over against another”. He is saying that the entire passage is to warn us not to follow men but to stay with what is written. In 1 Cor. 4:2 he said, “it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”, and it is by not going beyond what is written that we remain faithful to that trust.
So we can see that this passage of scripture has nothing to do with sin. It is a warning for us not to follow men’s wisdom but to use the written Word to build on the foundation of Jesus because our rewards will be according to the way we build.
If we build with sound biblical doctrine then we will be rewarded.
If we build with poor doctrine then we will still be saved but lose our rewards.
If anyone destroys the church then he will be destroyed.
If we attempt to make sin the context of this passage then it will make no sense at all as words like build, labour and work don’t relate to sin. Likewise, sin can’t be related to building with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay and straw unless we say that we will be rewarded for good sins and lose our reward for bad sins. The fact is, sin is not the subject of this passage.
To make it a bit clearer, let’s consider a Christian who dies while refusing to repent of his adultery. Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) believers will say that he will still get to heaven but lose some rewards. This is entirely out of context with the passage in question as the man was not building on the foundation of Jesus while he was in adultery, he was just fulfilling his lusts. He wasn’t building the church while he remained in sin, he was just building his condemnation. The truth is, this passage is taken entirely out of context by OSAS believers. An unrepentant sinner will not suffer a loss of rewards for his sin but eternal condemnation.

CHRISTIANS (those truly "saved to begin with") CAN:
    1. Depart from the faith (1 Tim. 4:1)
    2. Wander away from the faith (1 Tim. 6:10)
    3. Swerve from the faith (1 Tim. 6:21)
    4. Abandon our faith (1 Tim. 5:12)
    5. Make shipwreck of our faith (1 Tim. 1:19)
    6. Fall from grace (Gal. 5:4)
    7. Desert him who called you and turn to a different gospel (Gal. 1:6)
    8. Receive the grace of God in vain (2 Cor. 6:1)
    9. Swerve from the truth, upsetting the faith of some (2 Tim. 2:18)
    10. Drift away from the truth (Heb. 2:1)
    11. Have an evil, unbelieving heart, leading us to fall away from the living God (Heb. 3:12)
    12. Be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Heb. 3:12-14)
    13. Fail to reach the promise of entering into His rest (Heb. 4:1)
    14. Fall by disobedience to enter His rest (Heb. 4:11)
    15. Fall away and impossible to restore unto repentance (Heb. 6:4-6)
    16. Deliberately go on sinning and no longer have a sacrifice for sins (Heb. 10:26-27)
    17. Shrink back (Heb. 10:38
    18. Fail to obtain the grace of God (Heb. 12:15)
    19. Wander from the truth (James 5:19-20)
    20. Forsake the right way (2 Peter 2:15)
    21. Become entangled and overcome AFTER having escaped them (2 Peter 2:20-21)
    22. Be carried away with the error of lawless people and lose our stability (2 peter 3:17)
    23. Commit a sin leading to death (1 John 5:16)
    24. Stop abiding in the teaching of Christ (2 John 1:9)
Eze 18:24 … "But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? All his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered for his treachery which he has committed and his sin which he has committed; for them he will die.
    God disagrees with OSAS….
Christians can fall from grace. Some Christians will depart from the faith,
1 Tim. 4:1-... The Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will FALL AWAY from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons....
Heb. 3:12.. Take care, brethren, lest there should be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, in FALLING AWAY from the living God. Christians, who return to a life of sin, crucify again for themselves the Son of God
(Heb. 6:4-6).... Christians can sin willfully, trampling the Son of God underfoot and counting the blood of the covenant with which they were sanctified, and insult the Spirit of Grace...
(Heb. 10:26-29).... We must be diligent not to fall short of God's grace by defiling ourselves and selling our birthright
(Heb. 12:12- 17). When a Christian returns to a life of sin, his name is blotted out of the Book of Life
(Rev. 3:3-5). Paul delivered two Christians to Satan that they might learn not to blaspheme
(1 Tim. 1:18-20). The church must deliver Christians who do not repent of sin to Satan so that they might be saved (1 Cor. 5:5).
2Pe 2:20… For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has became worse for them than the first.
2Pe 2:21.... For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.
2Pe 2:22... It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire."

Amen brother. I would like to add that there is a decent chance that if someone who is saved continuously lives like the devil thinking that they are saved no matter what, then they very may well have never been saved in the first place. I think this is where many people come to the conclusion of losing salvation. A person truly saved will NOT have the desire to sin over and over and over thinking they have a get out of hell free card... this is also the danger of the insecure teaching of "accepting Christ" or sinner's prayer doctrine. Nothing we do will keep us saved. On the other hand, there will be some amount of evidence that you are a child of God after salvation has occurred.

This faulty reasoning is called the
      "NO TRUE SCOTSMAN FALLACY"
In this form of faulty reasoning one's belief is rendered unfalsifiable because no matter how compelling the evidence is, one simply shifts the goalposts so that it wouldn't apply to a supposedly 'true' example. This kind of POST-GENERALIZATION is a way of avoiding valid criticisms of one's argument.
In this case, if someone produces and example of a believer who falls from the faith, lives in sin until they die. You could, dismiss them as an example by saying, "I guess they werent a TRUE believer."

Amen! You have decern correctly! Jesus will NEVER forsake us however we (people) will forsake Him. Many will fall away from Jesus and even more so the closer to Jesus' return. In the "last days" you will see many that profess Jesus at one time in their lives but are now not professing Him at all. ONLY the righteous will enter the kingdom of God and to be righteous we have to understand God's standards and not just man's or even a Pastor because they fall too. The Bible states MANY will not make it into heaven and many will cry out LORD, LORD...but didn't I cast out demons in your name, etc etc. It is not your acts that get you into heaven but your repented heart and relationship that you have with Jesus. Of course you will have "good works" because of your new nature to be like Christ however your works is not what allows you in heaven. It is your new heart, repented and following Jesus til your LAST breath. So yes many that start off following Jesus will end up loosing their way and backslide and do not return back to Him. They will be the ones that cry out Lord Lord...but I...... we HAVE to FINISH the race.

Absolutely agree with the comment by @CotoureCAKES. When people are saved, they don't want to engage in sin. My experience has been as I seek Him more, I become less enticed by the "pleasures" of this world. I actually WANT to live a righteous life (not to get a pat on the back from man or salvation - Jesus gave us that free of charge) because I want to be closer to Him. I just can't understand how someone can sin left and right without a second thought and still be saved. I'm not trying to be self-righteous, I really just don't understand. I read John 14:15 and it seems like many preachers today are saying something different. Can you explain this to me please?

Something still unclear to me though is not if we can lose our salvation by sinning, but would a Christian keep sinning if they were truly saved? kind of goes with the whole "License" thing. Jesus says we shall know them by their fruits. And that the holy spirit convicts us right? How do we explain these things.

+gilbert chavez Hey Gilbert, I actually made a video on this very topic but never published it yet. I am of the belief that if a person is saved then they will persevere. That doesn't mean they will not have difficulties and struggles and doubts along the way but their faith is anchored. If someone has an experience that seems to suggest they were saved but then shows very little or no fruit for the rest of their lives I would not say they are a Christian because there are too many verses that talk about faith without works is dead and we are saved unto good works and a tree is known by its fruit, etc. But ultimately we can not know a person's salvation status. Only God knows.

You have asked the golden question! Lol! Those who are saved and true followers of Christ filled with the Holy Spirit simply do NOT live in the perpetual sin and separation from God's Spirit that would cost their salvation.
Do we fall from time to time? Absolutely! The flesh is at constant war with the spirit. However (in personal experience) the Holy Spirit is REAL and ANY time I am out of order, I am immediately convicted and REPENT!
I believe people who are not sensistive to the Spirit of God through intimate relationship CAN and have lost their salvation due to rebellion, unrepentant sin, and ultimately being turned over to reprobate minds in which they don't even FEEL the conviction of the Holy Spirit anymore. (Honestly the worst spiritual condition to be in...)

Allen, can you please write to me and help me with my question? I was saved when I was a young adult. I was very devout and read my bible constantly to build my relationship with God and Jesus. Numerous things happened in my life to the point that I wondered if all I had learned and believed was just a big lie. After some time of not reading the bible anymore or being around any christians I doubted seriously weather there was a God or if Jesus ever even existed. I no longer had faith in any of it. I continued to try to live by the morals of the bible but without faith in Christ. Recently, during the coronavirus outbreak, I was lead back to purchasing a bible, reading it and within a very short time realized that all I had believed about God and Jesus previously was in fact true. My faith in Christ was renewed. I now read my bible daily and build that relationship with him again. My question is, will God accept me back into his fold since I lost my faith in Christ and did not believe he existed. In Hebrew 6:4-6 it sounds like he will not forgive those that have lost their faith in him and then want to return. Please advise. There is no one else I know that can help me or answer that question. At this point I don't believe I am saved but will serve God in the name of Jesus Christ until the day I die.

**Read** salvation is forever but if you delight in sin and you keep doing bad thinking u were saved you were never saved to begin with. When you are saved The Holy Spirit changes you to live by Gods standards little by little and to not delight in sin. One can claim to be saved but just because you claim something it doesn’t mean it’s true. When you are saved you can feel it and your fruits will show your roots. So a saved person won’t go around doing bad. They won’t do good to get to heaven, but because we will go to heaven we delight in doing kind deeds. (My opinion)

Paul said at 1 Cor. 9:27 that it was possible for him to become disqualified by not controlling himself in regards to sin. So had he become an unrepentant sinner, you're saying that his conversion and saved condition would not have been genuine? Jesus personally read his heart and chose him, so that would have meant that Jesus made a mistake, or what Paul said in that verse was not true, which is impossible because it's in the Bible which can contain no lies. Your reasoning is faulty.

This burdens me since I’m wondering if I never knew Christ as a child, why did I have such faith? Why did I read the Bible on my own will? Also, do I need to be rebaptized? It’s really stressing me because I have to share my testimony soon to become a member of my church.

I am the same I grew up in church all my life basically. Wasn’t saved until 16-17 years old. Then I rebelled as I looked into other religions. I then came back to church and no matter what I do believe in Jesus but my lifestyle is not right with God, as I continue to party with friends etc. I always eventually have that back and forth drift with God. I honestly believe we are living in the end times and yes God is calling all his children back. That’s why we are here right now. I believe repentance from sin is truly what saves us... not just “believing” in Jesus. Someone used the servant verse as an example When his master comes at a time he does not know and he gets left behind. Truly be faithful and endure this world even to the end. Read your bible because I think that’s truly how we are close to God and through prayer. God bless you sister.

  • @Richard-ib3kp

I struggled with this for many years and eventually quit trying to do right as it always seemed futile. I gave control of my life to the Lord, prayed for forgiveness, went to church and without fail found myself always as Paul said, doing the things I hate. I eventually quit going to church. Although I still believed the Bible and in the Lord, I felt like a hypocrite. If the Lord gave Christians power over sin , it was clear I did not posses that power so therefore when I fell into sin over and over again I surmised I wasn't saved. I didn't mean it enough or I wasn't committed enough or the Lord simply did not save me. Regardless of the reason I felt I wasn't a true Christian or worthy of salvation because of my sins, actions and thoughts. The comments I read herein about losing salvation resonated in my heart in those days and I feared for my eternal soul. The Lord allowed me the privilege of meeting a Christian preacher who helped me understand the answer to this question posed here. I was with him when he was dying and I ask him if he had any concerns about his soul. He said to me, "I dealt with that many years ago". I knew then the things he had always told me were true. Allow me to quote from one preachers that my friend loved, Charles Spurgeon. Spurgeon said, the fact that you are worried about losing your salvation is a sure evidence you are in fact a Christian. Unbelievers do not sit around pondering these matters. This questioning of one's eternal security and salvation comes from the devil, the author of all lies. When the Lord saves us, He writes our name in the Book of Life once in blood. It's not written in pencil and erased and re-written over and over as needed. It is His grace, love and free gift of Jesus Christ that saves us. We are unworthy and always will be to deserve this gift. The purest heart on earth no more deserved His gift than the most wicked sinner. There is a confusion between salvation and sanctification. Salvation is God's free gift of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in every Christian's heart to draw them closer to God and make them more like Christ. The confusion for most is in the sanctification process. For some it is fairly instant and for others a long slow process. God works in us all differently. It is not for me to judge His process by the works I see in you. My pastor friend said this, that we should always pray. You can't have a relationship with someone you never speak to. God wants to hear from you. Tell Him the truth. He knows it anyway. You can tell Him you don't want to stop doing whatever it is you are doing that you know is wrong. The truth is a start. You can ask Him to give you the desire to stop it. You can tell Him you want to start wanting to stop the sin. And then spend some time with Him. If all you have is 15 seconds in the morning, thank the Lord for His gift of salvation to you and ask for His help in your day. It doesn't matter what men say. God gave you His word to save you when you believed in His risen Son Jesus Christ. As Christians, should we keep on sinning and not care. Of course not. Is God going to send us to hell for it? No. When you believed He removed all your sin, past, present and future. He removed it as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more. Should we follow Jesus and live as close to His example as possible because we love Him? Yes. As a Christian you will be judged in the end, but not as unbelievers whose names are not written in His book. Your works will be judged. The hay, wood and stubble (your sins) will be burnt up but the precious stones and good works will remain. These things are the basis of your reward in heaven. Don't be confused by men. The Lord says no one is able to pluck you(Christians) from His hand, and that means even you. Thank the Lord for His love and goodness. Thank you Allen for your time and messages. They are a help and a blessing and most importantly you speak them in love, the greatest thing.

Exactly!!! Also Rev 3 speaks very clearly about a Christian who is lukewarm. Jesus said he will spew them out of his mouth. This doesn't sound like something to be taken lightly. I don't think the Christian who allows himself to be lead by the holy spirit and lives a repentant life can actually lose their salvation...it is the apostate or person who turns away from their faith that this applies to. I don't like the term "lose their salvation" - because if God gives a gift, it is a gift. But we can forfeit it. We can take a gift and later reject it. And that rejection (being an apostate) or repeatedly rejecting the prompting of the Holy Spirit will lead to a falling away. The scripture you mentioned clearly talks about this but people often chose to ignore. Thank you for sharing!

@Z Will being lukewarm in layman terms means a Christian isn't living a Christ centered life. It is that simple. Perhaps you need to review what is the prime example of a life that is *not* Christ centered (one with unrepentant sin).

    @wtom04 8 років тому +4

The false teaching that everlasting life can be "lost" does not come from God's Word, but rather comes from the many false doctrines within mainstream Christianity, including Arminianism which uses many passages in God's Word taken out of context and eisegeted where the false doctrinist imposes his/her "theology" into the the text, rather than letting the text determine their theology. Such passages that are infamously used are Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, John 15:6, 2 Peter 2:18-22, 1 John 2:18-19, 2 John 1:8, Luke 12:46, Matthew 8:12, Matthew 22:13, Matthew 25:30 just to name a few.
The above mentioned passages when interpreted correctly and in the RIGHT CONTEXT will reveal that these are passages that warn saved Christians about the danger of falling away from the faith which will result in imminent temporal chastisement from God, and the forfeiture of ETERNAL REWARDS - 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. Only faithful obedient Christians in this life will be granted ETERNAL REWARDS at the Judgment Seat of Christ which is a future event after the RAPTURE where all saved Christians works in this life will be evaluated to determine the gain or loss of eternal rewards, including the earned privilege of REIGNING with Christ in the Millennial Kingdom here on earth - 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 2:26, Revelation 3:21. Those saved Christians in this life who lived unfaithfully, disobediently, and carnally will be denied eternal rewards when their works will be tested with the fire of Christ's scrutiny and fail the test, BUT their eternal salvation, which is a free gift apart from works remains intact and untouched as 1 Corinthians 3:15 and 2 Timothy 2:13 clearly indicates.
Only FALSE DOCTRINE teaches that everlasting life can be lost based upon the Christian's works and performance in this life. Our works do not determine our eternal destiny, but eternal rewards. The current confusion over whether a Christian can "lose" their salvation is caused by the mainstream FALSE DOCTRINES of Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness doctrine, Calvinism/Lordship, and Arminianism. It is these false doctrines that have perverted and distorted God's Word in epic proportions.
The Bible clearly teaches that everlasting life cannot be lost in John 5:24, John 10:28-29, Romans 8:38-39, 2 Timothy 2:13. If everlasting life can be lost, then it is no longer eternal in nature, but becomes like fragile glass. The following Biblical examples refute the false teaching that salvation can be lost. These are examples that are usually avoided and ignored by people who embrace false doctrine.
    1) Samson is a true man of God and at the same time a FORNICATOR - Judges 16:1, then in Judges 16:28-30, Samson commits a simultaneous MURDER/SUICIDE with God's help. Yet Samson is listed as a Godly man of faith in Hebrews 11:32. Samson would not be listed there if he was unsaved.
    2) King Solomon is a true man of God, but became a serial polygamist and demon worshiper at the end of his life - 1 Kings 11:1-13. Solomon even built 2 altars to the 2 demon gods, Chemosh and Molech in 1 Kings 11:7. Molech was a demon god that required child sacrifices - a Satanic practice. This was King Solomon. Solomon persisted in his sins despite God warning him TWICE - 1 Kings 11:9-11. Because of Solomon's defiance, God declared to Solomon that He would tear away a major portion of his kingdom, but do it in his son's generation because of God's covenant with Solomon's father, King David.
God then brought 3 adversaries against Solomon - 1 Kings 11:14, 23, 26. Then we read that Solomon tried to commit MURDER in 1 Kings 11:40. Nowhere in Scripture does it ever say that Solomon "lost his salvation" or "never had it to begin with."
    3) King Saul is a true man of God who failed. 1 Chronicles 10:13-14
13 Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, 14 and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
Nowhere in Scripture does it say that Saul "lost his salvation" or "never had it to begin with" because he committed suicide - 1 Samuel 31:4 - Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me." But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.
Many false doctrinists also ignore and avoid the accounts of the Corinthian church of the apostle Paul's time who were living deplorably in sin and immorality, but Paul affirmed that they are eternally saved by addressing them as "sanctified in Christ Jesus" and "saints" in 1 Cor 1:2.
Paul addresses them as "brethren" in 1 Cor 2:1, as "brethren" and "carnal' "babes in Christ" in 1 Cor 3:1, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 4:6, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 10:1, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 11:2, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 12:1, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 14:20, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 15:1, as "brethren" in 1 Cor 15:58. (KJV)
The above list in 1 Corinthians where Paul repeatedly addressed the Corinthian Christians as "brethren" is overwhelming evidence that these are saved people possessing eternal life. Paul would not have addressed them as "brethren" if they were not saved.
The Corinthian Christians of the apostle Paul's time were living in gross sin and immorality, but Paul affirmed the fact that they were saved in 1 Corinthians 3:1 as he addressed them as "brethren" that were "carnal" babes in Christ. Paul would not have addressed them in that way if they were not saved.
The lives they were living were deplorable:
    1) 1 Corinthians 3:3 - there was envying, strife, and divisions among the Christians.
    2) 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 - a Christian man was having sex with his stepmother and consequently Paul pronounced judgment on this man in 1 Corinthians 5:5 where Paul says, "hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
    3) In 2 Corinthians 2:5-8 we read that this man was chastened and that God had mercy on him and did not terminate his physical life. Paul instructs the church to forgive and comfort him so that he wont be overcome by excessive sorrow and to reaffirm their love and concern for him.
    4) 1 Corinthians 4:18 - there was arrogance among the Corinthian Christians.
    5) 1 Corinthians 6:7-8 - there were Christians taking other Christians to court and there was cheating among them.
    6) 1 Corinthians 7:2 - there was fornication among the Christians.
    7) 1 Corinthians 11:21 - there were Christians hogging and gorging themselves with food, and there was drunkenness at the Lord's Supper.
Self-righteous Calvinists/Lordship Salvationists would of course deliberately deny the existence of carnal Christians and would deliberately write off carnal Christians as "unsaved" despite overwhelming evidence from Scripture.
Scripture is clear that there are indeed carnal Christians that are saved. It's not good or spiritually edifying that they are living in sin. God will punish them because they are His children, but they are still saved - Proverbs 15:10, Jeremiah 2:19, Job 5:17-18, Hebrews 12:5-11.
Hope these Biblical examples will help clear up any confusion and controversy over the question of whether or not saved Christians can lose their eternal life.
I once departed from the faith for 9 long years living in sin, immorality, and rebellion against God, but God chastised me to bring me back to fellowship with Him and here I am today. That was 23 years ago, and God has been gracious to me ever since. I am a living example that eternal life CANNOT BE LOST. If I "lost" my salvation, God would have never even bothered to chastise and correct me. He did so because I was His child all along.
    JOB 5:17-18 - 17 “Blessed is the one whom God corrects;
so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
    18 For he wounds, but he also binds up;
he injures, but his hands also heal.
God chastens and corrects willfully sinning Christians that are saved and He also restores, but "losing" eternal life is NEVER one of the consequences. False doctrinists will use this false teaching as a ploy to control its followers into being obedient, and faithful with the threat of hell.

connor james You are an unsaved Pharisaical reprobate! The following Biblical examples refute your false doctrine of "faith plus works = possible salvation at the very end".
Samson is a true man of God and at the same time a FORNICATOR - Judges 16:1, then in Judges 16:28-30, Samson commits a simultaneous MURDER/SUICIDE with God's help. Yet Samson is listed as a Godly man of faith in Hebrews 11:32. Samson would not be listed there if he was unsaved.
KING DAVID is a true man of God who committed ADULTERY/MURDER - 2 Samuel 11:1-21. This happened despite the fact that King David had over 6 wives at the time - 2 Samuel 3:1-5, 2 Samuel 5:13.
Remember, people in the Old Testament were saved the exact same way as people in New Testament times, otherwise the apostle Paul would not have quoted Genesis 15:6 in Romans 4:2-6 in support of the gospel.
King Solomon is a true man of God, but became a serial polygamist and demon worshiper at the end of his life - 1 Kings 11:1-13.

+connor james Your comment - "what about the branches that bear no fruit are the branches belong to the kingdom of heaven and non-believers do not there are many Christians out there so call Christians that say they are Christian yet do not submit over their lives to Christ and live for him they don't die to themselves are they back slide to their old ways and Jesus warns those who look behind not worthy of being his."
My comment - Many devout Roman Catholics, Mormons, and Jehovah's Witnesses "submit" their lives over to Christ and are obedient and faithful for decades, but are these saved people? NO. You also need to take into account that there are people in society like Buddhists, humanitarianists, philanthropists, some atheists and the Boys/Girls Scouts of America who bear "fruit", but many of these people do not believe the Bible or in Christ. These people can sometimes live side by side with Christians who don't bear fruit.
You also need to take into account that many saved Christians go through periods of crisis like severe illness like cancer, depression, unemployment, financial loss, death of a loved one, and divorce. It is during these times of crisis that a saved Christian may bear little or no fruit. Are you going to conclude that they are "not worthy of being His?" Also, a person can come to know Christ today and be eternally saved, but tomorrow be involved in a tragic car accident that leaves the person paralyzed permanently full body for the rest of his/her life where the person cannot bear any "fruit" or do "good works."
So, according to what you believe, is the person who is paralyzed "unsaved?"

    My question is here. :)
If I am living in a sin (have given in to a temptation for example), how can I be confident on that time that I am saved? Theoretically, every sinner will go to hell. If I were to die, I'd go to hell.
The Bible clealy states in Galathians 5 what are the works of flesh and says thst whoever sins. will not herit the kingdom of God. BUT it crossed my mind that another verse says that the kingdom of God is inside us. So, whoever sins, cannot have the kingdom of God within themselves. So there must be another kindgom there, musntn't?

Hey Loviisa, great question. So, I always tell people that the presence of the Holy Spirit is proof that we have been genuinely saved. In other words, when you experience the conviction and remorse over your sin, that is God warning you that something you just did was wrong. If you weren't a Christian you would not have this same warning from the Spirit.

    • @thekohapink
      @thekohapink 7 років тому

THE BEAT by Allen Parr So, I may be sinning, but the Holy Spirit inside me is restless and alarms me that I am doing something wrong? EVEN WHEN I ALREADY KNOW that I am clearly sinning? And doing that intentionally?!? (I had a time when I intentionally lived in sin in one sphere of my life and asked God to stay away, cause now I want to enjoy life and explore it kn my own and God, I knew, said I shouldn't have, but I still wanted to...).
But while God is so holy that he doesn't tolerate sin, how can the Spirit of God dwell in me whilst I am sinning?
I have heard that kind of a teaching that God is so holy that he cannot stand any sin (although we may have secret sins, as Kimg David wrote in Psalms), that's why we are separated from Him at the first (as unbelievers) - As I have understood by far.

We need to be united. The important thing is are you living a surrendered life? True saving faith will always produce a surrendered life. Some may say that it is debatable whether or not you can actually leave that state of surrender. But ultimately that is how you know if you are saved. + the Holy Spirit bears witness that you are His. Much love from a brother in Christ ❤️

I look at it like this: TO LOVE is TO TRUST, to trust is TO OBEY.
If we truly believe in Jesus Christ, we will also believe in His words and obey them. If He says we must not do certain things, we shouldn't. If He says, we follow Him, then we will do it. Because if He is in fact the God of our lives, we will always prioritize Him over ourselves.
If we truly love Him, He will be our priority and we will bend our own ways to obey Him.
Doing good works and all is part of loving and believing in Jesus. If we receieve God in our lives, we will have eyes that see the truth. Therefore, the good works we'll do then is without the intentions of "i will do this to get saved" but "i will do this because these people are in need, and therefore i must help them because it is only right that I do." Not expecting of anything in return. In this case, not counting the good works as a stepping stone to Heaven. You are doing good works because you are a servant of Christ and want to serve Him thru serving others. So when you look back to the good works you have done, u dont take pride in it because you're not even counting them and/or didnt do them for the wrong reasons.
I believe doing the "works" part of faith is a matter of intentions. Cuz i mean, people sometimes do bad things for the right reasons, and good things for all the bad reasons.

LISTEN!!!! You guys are not listening! There are other scriptures that say other wise. STOP IGNORING these scriptures and learn to reconcile what seems as a contradiction. God does not force anything on us including the free gift of salvation. God works along with us as we work along with Him. He will always cooperate with our CHOICES. This doctrine of once saved always saved is as false as the doctrine of predestination, they are both supposedly proven in the same way: with certain verses that appear to prove their point, while ignoring other verses that shatter it.

    • @unapologeticpatriot6504
      @unapologeticpatriot6504 6 років тому

Will K Firstly your bible version quote is a little sketchy. It seems it tries to simplify the verse but actually it manipulates it. The actual Greek origin of the scripture never says that we are sealed until day of redemption. It says in Ephesians 4:30, for the day of redemption but not until. The word until is different than the words unto or for.
Also the ultimate evidence is that the word sealed in Greek means “sphragizó” the word was not necessarily used to mean guarantee or permanent seal. Seal was also used as a signification of ownership. Meaning that there is a holy seal that represents, signify and shows our belonging to Christ. Seal is used in other scriptures like John 6:27 or John 3:33. And others, it is often at times used in a manner of “set a seal upon”. Like the presidency has a seal set upon the Air Force one plane to transport the president as the plane belongs to the presidency. But not necessarily that it always belongs, as it can be sold. In our case, we give up.

The salvation of Christ is based on Us coming to Him, us having a relationship with Him, us repenting from our sins against Him. If we choose to walk away from God we choose to stay in the world apart from his will. If we stay out of God’s will he will not come back for us because we are not His we are the World’s. “43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.” John 8:43-44. Unfortunately many of these Jews were devout followers of God but rejected Jesus. When you reject jesus and his teaching you are not his and you are not saved even if you Think that you are. When Jesus said to go and sin no more after he healed someone he meant it and if you don’t believe that then you might not be saved🤷🏽‍♂️

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Brother, God works with each of us to help us to make the choice to come to Jesus and be saved, and Satan works hard to get us to sin against Jesus and place that sentence over our heads again, "the wages of sin is death." So yes, we can lose our salvation. This is in harmony with "the soul that sins shall die." In reality, if the saved could not be lost then why does Satan wastes his time tempting us to sin? This doctrine of "once saved always saved" is so disingenuous, and fosters a false sense security. The scriptures are so harmonious with its teachings and this doctrine does not fit.

I have discussed and debated this view with many Christians-all who I believe are saved. However, scripture interprets scripture. Once saved always saved is a popular philosophy but it is a worldly one at best. Please hear me, if you walk according to the flesh YOU WILL DIE. You must endure to the end and experience many hardships. There are too many warnings from the Apostles and Jesus in Revelation to look over in order to accept that philosophy.

      1 John 2:19 GNTD
These people really did not belong to our fellowship, and that is why they left us; if they had belonged to our fellowship, they would have stayed with us. But they left so that it might be clear that none of them really belonged to us.
That means they were never saved.so a truly saved person can't lose their salvation.

Jesus teaches to pick up your cross daily. The path is narrow and few will make it. Christ broke the curse of sin with his death which makes it possible for us to get into heaven. Accepting he is God in flesh is only the first step. By faith in Christ you need to Repent from your sins, cleanse your spirit and follow him. God bless

@@mattpietsch3365 Matthew 6:14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
This was before Jesus’ death, and therefore before the start of the new covenant (Luke 22:20). Our salvation and forgiveness were based on our own obedience to God during the old covenant. Let’s go to some verses after Jesus’ death:
Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
As we read, we were forgiven, past tense. To fully support this idea, let’s go to:
Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)
The Greek word for saved is σεσῳσμένοι which is in the perfect passive participle tense. This means, an action having been completed in the past, once and for all, NEVER needed to be repeated again. That’s what that tense means. Passive means the subject is the receiver, not the achiever, the RECEIVER. God chose Hebrew and Greek for a reason, because the languages are very accurate.

So if I accept Jesus I am saved. So does that mean I can do whatever I want and not have to worry about losing my salvation? Sounds to me like I can sin freely, but I'll still be saved!

You will actually lose your salvation if you continue to live a sinful life after you have known the truth (read John 9:41 and also Hebrews 6:4-6). Spiritually deceived people, who are actually unsaved often times based their arguments on the pretexts of Ephesians 2:8-9 &/or 2 timothy 1:9-- that because salvation is not by work but by faith ALONE, then you don't have to do works for God (even after you have been saved by his grace). Likewise they believe that even repentance is not needed because that too is doing work. But can a hired killer (who earned a living by killing people); or a bank robber who steals and kill people for money still continue to live the same way of life after he believes in the Lord Jesus Christ? The Lord himself solemnly warned the man after he healed him at the Pool of Bethesda saying "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee"(John 5:14). And the apostle Paul is very clear in saying that "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are"(I Corinthians 3:17). Further, he said "that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life"(Romans 6:4). Ezekiel 18:24 says that if a righteous man shall do evil like the iniquity of the unrighteous man, he shall die. Our freedom of will to choose to commit sin is the reason. And one thing is certain, when we choose to sin against God, our sins will find us out in the end (Num. 32:23).

"If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (John 15:6, KJV). "If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned" (John 15:6, NIV).
*Did Jesus say "once a branch, always a branch"? Are the burned up branches "saved," or destroyed?*
