That was helpful but I would have used the Reach Target tool to get their hands held together. Reach to a hand adjust the fingers and they stay together. Same as attach to path. Never thought of this but I will use it this week or next on an animation I am making for almost 3 years now. Thanks for your help ;-)
Hi friend! So I practice a little differently, that is to say by complicating the task enormously, but here I find it faster and certainly better to make the adjustments ... Thank you for the tutorial!Tutorials always very informative!👍👍👍👍
Just a small favor .... if you had a little time one day to do a tutorial on sliding when walking ... it's super painful to do, and I am very attentive to all the information on this subject! Thank you ... See you soon!
Thanks so much!... Did you know how to add any other Motion into the motion Puppets section? I like motion Puppets because of the mask out features, thanks in advance
I've probably done a hundred scenes of two people walking together but it never occurred to me to attach them to the same box . Thx for that simple trick. (I might of had him run to catch up with her, just to suggest a relationship of some sort, which then would have made a foot sliding problem even worse ).
Awesome. I had Two question please. 1. Which Part of the Characters did you attach to the Dummy Cube ? 2. Did you adjust the Path Length to avoid Footstep Slipping ? Do share your thoughts how you avoided footstep slipping. Many Thanks for sharing your Knowledge.
It's important to "Link" the avatar to the Dummy-Box. Right-Click on the avatar and select Link. That way the avatar can be Un-Linked if needed at any point. I usually record plenty of the "Walking" animation with the Motion Puppet and then adjust the Dummy-Box Path travel-distance to closely match the walking-gate of the avatar. What I did with the tutorial is a bit sloppy in that regard I must confess. You can also adjust the 'Stride-Length" with the Motion Puppet controls and get things "close". Of course if it gets too slippy in places I just cheat and frame them ''waist-up" !!!:
Interesting. :-) How would you animate two characters holding hands while walking if the characters are very different in height, e.g. an adult and a small child. Getting the different lengths of stride to mesh would probably be a major pain.
With the shorter avatar one would have to adjust with the Motion Layer, the arm position, up a bit. I made an adjustment of the female's arm as the guy reached her hand. The stride and speed of a walk can be adjusted in the Motion Puppet when the avatar's walking-in-place anim is recorded. Yes there will be a lot of adjustments but it can get pretty close. I was a bit sloppy with mine but it can get close enough and if not just frame 'em waist-up ;-)
@@SmallWStudio Yes, clever framing can avoid some issues. ;-) However, I would appreciate Reallusion improving foot sliding issues with any walking animations. I would also like to see characters be able to automatically follow terrain contours (i.e. up and down) without having to adjust each step manually in a motion layer.
@@SmallWStudio Well, there are a number of things people expect to improve in iClone 8. Personally, I'm not holding my breath. (I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised, though...)

Well, there are probably better ways to do this task but glad it helped!
@@SmallWStudio 🙏🙏🙏🙏Yes it was not a criticism, on the contrary ... I find this method much better than doing two paths like I could do!
@@pyxisstudio5279 I understand but there is probably a better way for sure. By the way love your work...EXCELLENT!!!!

Thanks glad you liked it! And yes I do know how to add other motions with the Puppet...it's a great feature! ;-)
Amazing tutorial. Thank you.
