Here's some crappy mom advice. Don't make a shelf above the water heater. Build the cabinet to the ceiling. That way the dust can't collect on the shelf. You're welcome 😂

Unfortunately dust collects everywhere anyways and the whole shop requires a good compressor blow out every few months or so but I'm really looking forward to seeing how the new dust collector works first 😉
Indeed though I may make it a cabinet with some doors, haven't quite made my mind up yet haha but thank you for the idea 😊
