I’m so damn behind on all this. UA-cam is sporadic at best on comment notifications!! Just got done with Pacific Audio Fest and totally fired up and totally wiped out.. 😉😉. What a GREAT event!!
I got mine 2 weeks ago, wow, it is a game changer, the APP is just awesome, it allows you to mimic the front screen of the A6, I use it with a Chord Hugo TT2 via the USB out. The in built DAC is ok, about the same sound quaility as a Topping D90se (not the same chips), however the digital signal out is very clean and bright to the Hugo, so sound out via USB is stunning (better than my Macbook Pro USB out). I run the Amazon Music HD app which runs sweet, but most importantly I added a 2TB SSD 2280 drive and then once formated it can be used for the Amazon download storage, meaning that I downloaded my entire Amazon Music Library over 6000 tracks which used around 45 GB from the SSD. The advatage of downloading is that the tracks are instantly available and they then run based on a 3.5GB/s interface, meaning that the streamer does not have to 'stream' :-). This is an awesome streamer, sound wise (via USB) it is sweet, and the interface is better than anything I have used before, and then the app is totally cool ! In my view this is a £5k streamer in a less than £1k package.........
I've ordered and paid for my DMP-A6, should be with me in 2-3 weeks and really looking forward to getting it. Thanks for the review, I'm not a techie man so any help through videos is gratefully received.
I am considering purchasing this Streamer but Amazon doesn't show it available with no idea when they will be available. I am also ordered the New BlueSound NODE X which is supposed to be fantastic unit as well. I would love to watch/read a comparison review of the DMP-A6 vs the NODE X.
Thanks James! I can confirm that ABX is a non profit. I'm a school counselor and I was donated a microphone and a midi keyboard for my after school hip hop group!
This is one of those once in a quarter century deal. This thing could sell easily for $600 more and still be a deal. Good on you EverSolo for not making it a $2K plus unit.
Hi, ABX, I had planned to purchase the Eversolo ME to connect it directly to my Mich S5 power amplifier (using the XLR out put). With the arrival of the Eversolo A8, I'm wondering if it might be more relevant to wait a few weeks and opt for this latest model.
Depends on what you budget is. That new R8 is $2000. Personally I will not be purchasing. But if you want that AKM chip set and slightly better parts and the updated outputs. I’m not certain if it’s gonna bring much sound quality increase to the table, or rather $1000 worth. If they send me one I’ll review, but I won’t be purchasing this one. I’d look closely at the Orchard Audio Pecan Pi+ Ultra streamer DAC that’s coming out soon. Less bells and whistles, but same DAC chips and far superior build and only $1500. I posted pics in my community page and will be reviewing soon. If you watch the video I just posted I show it in the video. Cheers.
@@abxaudiophiles Hello, thank you for your response. I really appreciate your analytical and research work. I've invested a lot in this project, including the Michi S5 power amp, B&W 802 D3 speakers, and the cables. I am open to considering the Orchard Audio Pecan Pi+ Ultra DAC streamer option, but apart from the photo you posted, there is no information available on the internet. I'm also wondering if it's possible to get one in France and, if so, within what timeframe. Is there a local distributor for Orchard audio in France? Thanks
@@htanger It is not available at this time. Anticipated release from OA is February 2024.. I believe that this will be a better sounding and performing streamer DAC vs the R8. That of course is 100% speculation and based off zero real comparison other than just understanding how Orchard Audio approaches things from a build perspective and having lived with the A6 and the OA products. The other factor here is that when dealing with Orchard Audio you are dealing with a D2C (direct to customer) company. This allows us as consumers to bypass the massive markup from the retailer, so our dollars are much more powerful here and we can get almost twice the product for our money. So likely the new Pecan pi+ Ultra will retail for $1,600 and I’d expect it’ll punch up to most things around $3,500 on the retail market…. So even if shipping was a bit more due to international fees, one may still be ahead of the game over a retail purchase.. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. If we get the R8 in, I’ll make sure to do a good review.
Thank you James for the in depth tutorial. I am looking forward to your review on the sound quality. I also run a Willsenton R 8 with a Node2i feeding into a Mojo 2. & Wharfedale Lintons .looking to sell the Mojo and Node 2i and step up to the A6!!
I like the Hifi Rose but have heard of several glitchy issues, and for the difference in money, the EverSolo looks like a great option. I have the Gustard R26 DAC and streaming from it's LAN input with Upnp. Just curious if this EverSolo might be a good match as I love the added features and the display/VU meters? I have the Bluesound Node N130, Wiim Mini and Pro which all do not sound as good as the Gustard R26 built in renderer on both Tidal and local files. Anyone try the R26 and the EverSolo as a combination? Love having all the affordable options available to us these days !
Great overview, thank you. Especially liked your breakdown of the App, something I haven't seen before. I was looking at the Hifi Rose RS250, until this Eversolo A6 caught my attention ... looking at a cost benefit of the two, the A6 is pulling away. Would be nice if you could do Apple Music with it too, like the Hifi Rose, but ... thanks again, great overview. New subscriber!
James, I feel like from what I am reading, unless you are going to spend at least as much as this unit costs for an external DAC, I should just buy this guy, run it on its own, and just pass up on purchasing a Geshelli Labs J2 to use with my WiiM Pro our Bluesound Node 2i. Your thoughts? Thanks again!
I think either will be a reallyl good option. I have not head the J2 yet, only their original dac. It will all come down to versatility, functions, bells and whistles, etc. I don't think either is a bad option. PS- Next Solo review is out.
The HiFi Rose (I just need the streamer function) or the Eversolo DMP-A6 (master edition?). I have no idea. The thing that worries me the most is the app interface and ease of use.
Yea, I have not had HR in house, but worked with it at a few shows and shops. I find the Eversolo app to be really good and feature rich, with constant updates and progress in the space. Of course the cost is attractive as well. But if all you need is a streamer, I am not sure, as not utilizing the dac would really be somewhat of a waste of money. With all the streamers on the market, there are tons of options, unless you are really only interested in the screen and app, and not worried about sound quality.. Personally if its my money (and we are stuck on screen and app), I am going with the Eversolo A8 - Cheers
Just got the unit ordered the remote three months ago. I have that now and believe it or not the remote makes all the difference in the world and use ability by all means if you’re going to buy this machine you want to be able to get the remote and I don’t know how available they are. I waited weeks for it it’s only $13 so it’s not a lot of money and it’s pretty well-built. Anyhow bottom line are you gonna buy this unit you need to have the remote. Period. Good luck guys.
I have a question regarding the Rose (RS250a, RS130, RS201E) and Eversolo (DMP A6, A6 ME, A8) systems, focusing not on sound quality but on other aspects. I'm interested in feedback regarding the user interface, the companion app, and the streaming services. Does anyone have experience with both systems and can provide a comparison from this perspective? I would appreciate your insights.
Huh..interesting unit . I just picked up the Wiim Pro and feed my Topping E50 DAC …however..yea’ the ROSE 🌹 looks like a all in one solution to digital audio. Great review. Great Doggos 👍 Take care 👍☕️🍕
Thanks for the initial thoughts. I'm coming from a 100 dollar Yamaha streamer that has always been a bit basic in all departments and the ROSE was out of reach. I nearly went Blue but this seems worth the extra money. It will be feeding an Audiolab 6000a with Dali floorstanders. Roll on mid-June when it should, hopefully, arrive. Considering this unit has exploded the Hi-Fi internet videos are rare and much viewed! Thanks.
Observations since running it for a few days: 1) Configurable options between the 'settings' menu compared to when you are casting the screen are different. Odd and a minor inconvenience. 2) When viewing the song you are playing through a streaming service, there is no home button to get you back to the main interface screen. You have to hit back a bunch of times. Being built on Android this is an oversight. 3) The streaming resolution always seems to say 44.1kHz even if I've selected a source above that. Makes me wonder what the sampling rate actually is. 4) The Qobuz portion of the app is OK, but if you select something like 'new releases', it will only tell you the album name, not the artist. Kinda pointless.
With the Blu OS I like the fact that I can hear a radio station and the app offers me to search the title in Tidal or Qobuz. Is that also possible with the A6?
Just subscribed. I have a question not regarding the dac but your R8 amplifier which I also own. What tubes do you recommend for upgrades? I just bought some gold lion kt88 but have yet to put them in. Also you or anyone out there know where I can get a replacement remote or the IR codes to operate the R8 from a learning remote. The included remote is junk but the amp is awesome. Thanks!
I run the Pasvane and Gold Lion combo in the power stage. The GL are a little more laid back and holographic, and PV are a bit more dynamic and clean. The remote I have was an upgrade from Willsenton directly according to teh guy I bought it from... I would contact them if possible.
I thought I was about to see a comparison with the Hifi Rose (any model really), then I was expecting a video with your thoughts after having some time with it, checked your channel but not sure which video did you follow-up with a review.
Just ordered mine a few days ago. Should be here by mid June! Can’t wait for it. On another note, what is the brand of microphone you are using for your broadcasting?
The problem with this (and many other streamers) is long term support. Basing their O/S on Android 11 (which came out in September 2020) is nice and allows current apps to be used. But what happens two or three years from now when those apps no longer support the O/S and/or the hardware? For some people, blowing $1000 every three years isn't a big deal, but for others, it is a non-starter. They won't buy devices in this price range that won't last 5 to 8 years and end up prematurely in a landfill, not even having any resale value like speakers and amps do.
@@carlosr.2027one by Luxman or Innuos, perhaps their Pulse. These companies offer years of support. They aren't cheap but may save you money in the long run instead of having to buy a new streamer every three to four years.
Great points!! Spot on…. I also think some look for longevity and some look for the next new thing. I don’t see either option as a negative. Just glad we have options. Many modern audio guys are just all about the new box and thing. Especially as digital interfaces and integrations evolve. I’d hate to be stuck with a DAC from 10 years ago that only had coax and optical outs.
@@abxaudiophilesright, but at least even that 10-year-old DAC (if it works) has some residual value. You can keep using in another system or even sell it. But when these Android devices are no longer supported, they'll have no value at all and will be headed for the landfill. But yeah, some people are into buying new gear every 6 months, so they won't care.
Hi, did you test it with Apple Music? Do you know if it shows the same play screen as Tidal or Qobuz would on unit? And can I stream around for new songs and change the playlist, whilst streamer shows "Song playing" Cheers from downunder
@@abxaudiophiles Ah ok cool. It looked as it the main screen would just show the Apple web player interface, which I would hate ;) Thank you very much!
@@abxaudiophiles Sorry one more, have you compared this to a Node2i? I got one, but really want Apple Music natively. I love Tidal, but its a complete pain in Carplay and I drive a lot, so its a deal breaker. Cheers
@@ericjohnson829 thanks Eric. I saw that. But, and this leads me to the question. It never shows a clean playback screen. It’s only showing how to scroll through the web interface on the unit which I’m not interested in. Thanks for sharing link.

@@abxaudiophiles sorry, not convinced there isnt something going on behind the scenes. Too many influencers and commentators focussing on Eversolo at the same time and me even getting a facebook suggestion to join their group. Solid promo work going on behind the scenes….
been running the Denon DVD 9000 for years now. Haven't found a DAC that beats it, especially since I paid 10 bucks for it.... The Denafrips Ares II doesn't touch the DVD9000. I wish I could see it compared against some of the new dacs coming out like the Eversolo.
Why would anyone be crying over owning the HiFi Rose 150? It's a better streamer/DAC, has more features and has a screen twice the size of the EVERSOLO. It's a nicely done Chinese knockoff, but that's about it.
The Solo is much more than that.. I think it's the best streamer/DAC under $1500 and is a real contender against what's on the market today under $4000. They are changing the way audiophiles stream and listen.. That internal DAC network just beat out a $9000 Naim DAC on Andrew Robinsons latests review... There is more to the story here and its GREAT for Audiophiles!!
@@abxaudiophiles Naim does have a $9.000 DAC, but it's not the PREAMP with a streamer/DAC that Andrew Robinson reviewed. He's famous for playing fast and loose with semantics when it suits him. We will see what happens with the Eversolo, but I think it's way early to say it competes with something like the Auralic Altair G1.1 or other under $4K competition . Time will tell.
@@badgerdms I’m talking about the EverSolo z8 DAC he just reviewed and mentioned it’s pushing hard against the Naim DAC @ $9000. But you’re right, time will for sure tell… And for now it remains a stunning product that has many looking away from hifi rose..
This thing is not ready for prime time. The hardware may be good but the app pretty much sucks and connectivity issues abound. Stick with Bluesound Node or Powernode. For example, I have my Node 130 connected via optical digital out to my Pontus II DAC and every function works flawlessly. If you try to stream via bluetooth from your phone and select the bluetooth input on the A-6, it makes you select the output which only has RCA and XLR as options, so right there you need another set of cables not necessary with Bluesound. Connecting the phone took forever. Kept getting error messages indicating A-6 and phone had to be on the same LAN, which they are. Never had any of these issues with Bluesound. As is typical with Chinese made audio, the instructions are abysmal and there is essentially nowhere to go for help. The A-6 may be impressive hardware wise but control is awful, though it will probably improve with time.
E-X-A-C-T-L-Y right !!! I thought I was the only one experiencing these issues. Kind of curious, I received the 2nd batch that was sent out, did you? I found it very clunky & sluggish inside the Amazon app. It will even quit playing after a couple hours of listening, where I have to reboot the app. The volume control is lagging too, hard to set to the correct level because of the lag. I NEVER had any of the issues with the Bluesound Node. So far, only difference I'm seeing is this has a purrrrdy little screen opposed to Nodes box. I've read on their forum that a 1.5 firm update is coming out soon. I'll try that but if it doesn't work, then I'll send it back and plug my Node (with upgraded power supply) back into my system. Both sound equally good though.
Guys... There is a MASSIVE sound quality improvement from the node to the solo, hands down, I put my node back in my system while my buddy was borrowing the solo for a review. It was like someone sucked the life out of my system. You two would be the first I have heard of anyone having any issues. Many people in our discord have one now and zero issues. The versatility of the solo over the node is light years. Personally I would never go back to the node.
Beware of system and software bugs. Many of them. Product is still too new. Wait for another year if you can wait. Bought one and experienced frustration using it. They're using consumers as their free testers 😡.
Go watch someone else, or do your own reviews, or even better play at 1.5 speed. Thanks for your productive and helpful comment. I stick to doing my reviews my way, but thanks. 🤣🤣🤣
You're just reading out loud what it says on the screen that we can see, so, you're not explaining anything! And, 21:00 (of 22:36)mins in, still no mention of the Hi-Fi Rose! Click bait this vid is!
Unless I am reading the specs from the website which I have up, otherwise it is all unscripted. And how is giving everyone a full rundown and the app, UI, and performance of the solo in my system not explaining anything??? LOL. Of course it is clickbait!! And it was not advertised as a review between the solo and rose.. It was advertised as the Eversolo will have you saying Rose Who? But to reply, I have auditioned both versions of the Rose and they are great. But when comparing prices, I will take the Eversolo everytime. Especially now with the new LPS upgrade available. My mission is to have fun with audio, and raise money for charity. I would hope that is enough for everyone.. Cheers.

I run the Pasvane and Gold Lion combo in the power stage. The GL are a little more laid back and holographic, and PV are a bit more dynamic and clean. The remote I have was an upgrade from Willsenton directly according to teh guy I bought it from... I would contact them if possible.
Can't wait for the in depth sound review.
Its been posted.. :)
I thought I was about to see a comparison with the Hifi Rose (any model really), then I was expecting a video with your thoughts after having some time with it, checked your channel but not sure which video did you follow-up with a review.
We’re all over the place with our stuff. No rhyme or reason. I’ve done about 4 discussions on the EverSolo. 🤣🤣🥰😊😊
I bought the A8 . Like the AKM chipset before 👍

Solid move.
Just ordered mine a few days ago. Should be here by mid June! Can’t wait for it. On another note, what is the brand of microphone you are using for your broadcasting?
HyperX quadcast.
Good stuff. I trust your reviews. 👍
I just bring the truth my friend. I paid my own money for this. 😉👍🏼👍🏼
What’s a good streamer your recommend that will have long term support
@@rosswarren436 I feel ya brother.. :)
Thank you very much! What about the possibility to plug-in a SSD M-2? Congrats!
I think it can take up to a 4tb SSD
Hi, did you test it with Apple Music? Do you know if it shows the same play screen as Tidal or Qobuz would on unit? And can I stream around for new songs and change the playlist, whilst streamer shows "Song playing" Cheers from downunder
Yes, screen always show song playing while you navigate. And all services are very well represented and look similar to the native app. 😉😉👍🏼

Hi Can you use the XLR and RCA Outputs at the same time, I Would like to use this as a preamp so need to Hook up my amp and Subwoofer.
Thank you
Yes
Thank you

Does this do Atmos? Feels like buying old tech if it doesn’t.
Atmos for music? Hard pass for me.
also a remote for it is comming up model nr btr12.
Just ordered, arrives tomorrow
Thanks, great clip, but we wanted to see how it looked on a large screen tv playing an mp3 with the album art
Let us know... :)
I would like to see an I2S input to connect my CD transport with the streamer :-)
Would be cool
I’ve got mine connected to a Gustard R26👍
Wow!!! Nice!
How does that sound? Have you compared running it solo vs going into the Gustard R26
@@clarice1001nights yes. The A6 sounds really good but I just prefer the R2R sound of the R26
Nice review, first time I saw any of your videos. Really like your commitment and support to the community, I know music can be a life saver. I subscribed, hope that can help already (a little).
Thank you!! Means a lot
Does it have an DSD/I2S output! Just curious!
Not technically I2S, but rather DSD via the HDMI port. I assume it can be used for feeding an AVR.
No
Just ordered today around launch time from Amazon. It wasn't available yesterday, just went there out of random and got lucky! Unavailable again now...
Any luck yet?
Hello, there’s three of us with our solos and neither one of us are able to get any sound out of them. Could you please do a step-by-step intro in one of your videos for a lot of us since there’s no instructions and a lot of us are a little bit lost thank you.
Just go into settings, select your input and outputs and make sure you are using those ones. it is pretty plug and play. Hope that helps
Hi. Can u play videos files? Can u download kodi or UA-cam ?
I dont think so
What tube combinations do use for r8?
Oh man. That’s a long list. Lol.
Psvane and Gold Lion Kt88 splitting the power section.
Silvertone 312 6SN7 in the phase splitter.
Shu Guang 6SL7 CV181-Z in the pre amp section.
And Psvane 6SN7 in the power filter.
Eversolo being hyped everywhere. They are great marketers…
The hype is warranted for sure.... They are GREAT!! Bought mine with my own money and Its still in my system today.

Why this delights - there is no COAX IN - COAX OUT loop?
Can't win them all. :)
The true gaint killer I say, going to pit this against my holo red and r26 😂
Well, I am not sure giant killers exist or that the solo is one, but it is damn good, and still my daily driver.. :)

Awesome!!!!!
It’s impressive so far.
been running the Denon DVD 9000 for years now. Haven't found a DAC that beats it, especially since I paid 10 bucks for it.... The Denafrips Ares II doesn't touch the DVD9000. I wish I could see it compared against some of the new dacs coming out like the Eversolo.
Synergy is real.. :) I hate to put such labels on things... Cheers
Where Can I buy one of those?
Amazon or local hifi shop :)
Got mine since a week... Definitely no need to spend 2k on a Rose RS250.
I’m hearing this a lot!!
Have you used the Rose to do a direct comparison? This Eversolo has my attention with all these rave reviews
They are on Amazon again…July 1st
Great Update!! Thank you
can both analog outputs be outputted at the same time?
Yes
Yes
MQA my not be around anymore. What you mean?
It is being dropped and or not picked up by many vendors these days. Tidal has moved to FLAC
I the HDMI port marked I2S? If so that says tons!!
It is not, still not quite the market for that enough to push manufacturers to make it standard, I suspect its close tho
Looks like a Oppo Dac from a few years ago!!
:)
Been checking Amazon for a while... Still not available... SIGH...
Any luck ?
And apparently impossible to find in stock. Arg.
Should be good now. :)
All reviewers positively review the same (Chinese) products at the same time... I'm starting to think these Chinese companies pay well for reviews...

We got you bro! 😉😉❤️
@@abxaudiophiles I'm anxious to hear your deep thoughts down the road!
Right…
@@brochg yes sir! Another review coming on sound and performance in a few weeks. 😊

Pero como es posible que no lleve mando a distancia

Hifirose made a big own goal with customers who had taken their units out of South korea and found hifi rose had blocked the software
Damn… 😮
I had ZERO of those issues. Works perfectly and instant connection to everything. Sorry for you problems. That sucks.
No issues here... Still loving it and ZERO bugs.
this stupid pop up screens all the the time makes me to unsubscribe
So then do it.
Way too much chatter! Get to it!! Jesus...
Cheers.
