Thank you so much for this! I was a child/teen dancer and always wanted to be a dance teacher but found that it was an "unrealistic" career... I ended up doing adult ballet (now 29 years old!) and my lovely studio has asked that I start teaching ballet and jazz for them! I'm thrilled to get to live out my childhood dreams but I fear I don't quite know where to start with lesson planning, as my day job is in ecommerce, a whole world away from teaching haha. This will help a lot!

I just wanted to let you know that I live 20 minutes away from my dance studio and I listen to this UA-cam video every single commute to teach dance. I have gleaned so much for all ages thank you for being so willing to share the knowledge you have. You are a wonderful teacher obviously and II am privileged to be able to watch your videos.
This is absolute gold Jackie! I am an animation popping style dancer. I have taught workshops for adults, which are really fun, silly 'kids workshops for adults' I call them. Just taught my first actual kids workshop the other week and I realized I have A LOT to learn about teaching kids. Popping is mostly freestyle and a lot of minute muscle control. Needless to say my lesson plan did not cross over very easily to kids, so I'm doing a big rewrite. Thanks for the inspo!

Wow! Fantastic tips! Thank you so much for this video. I’ll be teaching at a kids dance workshop this weekend with 2 groups: K-4th grade & 5th graders/up. My teaching background is mainly with high school dance teams or adults. Watching your video has been very helpful.

What would you do if classroom management becomes the bulk of class instead of learning dance? I’m finding it difficult to adjust my lessons for these post pandemic kids. It seems like the typical early childhood development benchmarks don’t apply anymore 😩
