Yeah her fellow passengers were so supportive yet no one volunteered to move their carryon luggage in thd overhead bins to cargo hold to make room for the headress. If it even fits in the overhead bins on a Dash 8. And yes it was a Dash 8.

Really no one has explained the situation. Was it evident it was a headdress? Was the crews complaint that it didn’t fit? What words were exchanged? They don’t tell you to check things under the seat in front of you, they TELL you to put things there. Doesn’t make sense
It was a matter of limited space for carry on luggage...Things must be stowed properly for safety reasons...Sounds like she got into an argument with the cabin crew...Now it's being twisted into a racial discrimination issue, which it wasn't.
Yes the cabin crew or Flight Attendants but not the Stewardess!! The cabin crew were doing there job!! The AFN Chief OWES Air Canada cabin crew an apology! The cabin crew put her headdress which was in storage container in a clear plastic bag with the Air Canada logo on it in a safe, secure, legal place to keep it dry and dirt free! It was not a garbage bag! I'm stunned she embellishes the truth!!

The aircraft is a Q400 which has very very very little space for carry on baggage. The Air Canada Crew followed protocol and wrapped the hat box in a "clear plastic" bag with the AIR CANADA🍁 logo on it, which can be used for multiple uses. The 'clear plastic bag with the AIR CANADA logo🍁 ' had to be put in the cargo hold because it does not FIT in the overhead bins. There is no disrespect!!! Some Aircraft in the Air Canada fleet (especially the smaller ones) have limits on what the size requirements for carry-on baggage. These are the FACTS!!!! AFN Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak wanted the an extra seat for the headdress!🍁

FLIGHT SAFETY is NOT unacceptable. This is so dumb. FAA / TSSA rules are not a joke or recommendations they are safety for yourself and others. That flight attendant should get a raise, and an investigation should be done to figure out why this was ever allowed . Items need to be secured for flight emergencies.
