@LowBrassLuke Movie was based on true life incident, Women sent to Electric Chair. I saw this Film in Brighton, England, UK appx late 1950s. Sorry I spelt Susan Hayward, name incorrect in my initial comment. I recall Art Farmer, also played in this film, it was set in a Jazz night club ( it's on utube, " I want to live " Jazz scene )I just looked. Anyway, Peace to all.
Great concept to do a dedicated trombone channel, - I'm not a trombone player but love Rosolino's work, - and who better to interview him than Gerald Wilson, - thanks and good luck with your project, - Cheers from the UK, - Peace - Gus ;)
at 7:55, frank plays possibly his finest ballad solos- VIOLETS. different recording from the memorial album. in competition w "i just don't want to run around any more" and "ballad of a matador"
Around the 33:30 mark, Frank mentions a documentary film -after the Conversations recording- where they filmed him in Rome and then did another recording in the studio. Has anyone ever seen or heard this documentary film?
Two legendary players and two wonderful gentlemen. What else can anyone ask for?
I recall Frank, was featured playing trombone, in the film / Movie, " I want to live " starring Susan Hayward, ( appx late 1950s)
also Shelly Manne.
I’ll have to check it out if I can find it.
