I love Vanessa Redgrave. In 1966 she exploded on the scene but she rejected almost all of the offers Hollywood had to offer. She is, in my opinion, the best English actress of the 20th century. Incredible both onstage and film.
Vanessa literally made me cry for Ruth Wilcox when she was on screen for just 15-20 mins. Howard's end solidified her as one of the greats. Her performances in Isadora, The Bostonians, Blow up, Camelot, Julia, I could just go on and on. An awe inspiring actress.
Yes, it's been tradition to have the previous year's best supporting actress winner be the presenter for the current year's best supporting actor winner. But for obvious reasons, Ms. Redgrave was MIA at the 1979 ceremony.
She needs to clear her voice before speaking... its coming out with a strange accent! wake up and smell the american coffee girly! wake up and eat our BACON!! USA, USA, USA!!
Oh that Rock Hudson his voice melts my heart

This was Vanessa's only time as a Presenter--to date.

The set for Virginia Woolf was a supreme masterpiece of 'character' and mood. Every piece of crockery, picture and bit of drapery was perfect.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Fantastic Voyage has great art direction.
Rock Hudson looked virtually the same from about 1954 to 1967. After this he would change his look and would start to show his age.
