Great review Mattias. I’m a new guitarist, but cannot connect with buying a new Chinese Les Paul copy that looks like sh_t out of the box. For Christmas I bought a $169 Grote Les Paul curved top with mahogany body and neck combined with a Rosewood fingerboard. The tabaco sunburst finish is so beautiful. Upon receiving it the High E spring buzzed as the nut was cut too low. I installed an Epiphone kit with Probucker pickups and 500k coil split pots and switch. I purchased a graphtech nut and had it professionally installed along with adjusting the action and intonation. The tuning machines are actually pretty good. It stays in tune and has beautiful tone and great sustain. All totaled, I spent $340, and from what I can see in the stores, it is worth much more now. In ten years, it may have a bit of weathering but will always look beautiful.
Thanks for your comment and welcome to the guitar community! I don’t agree with you that Chibson’s looks like sh_t out of the box. In my experience the looks are the usp for Chibson. However, I wanted to see how good they’ ve gotten at relicing and on that point they still have a long way to go. The body, neck and finish is good but the miss out on the hardware and plastic. It’s no problem for me, I like doing it myself. When you describe the journy you had to take with your Grote it’s very similar to the Chibson experience. Grote it built in china and it seems to be the same formular, great body and neck and low quality on the rest.
The best experience and excitement I ever had was having my Chibsons made and getting the pictures throughout the build was even better my country guitar builders wouldn't give me the time of day unless we are famous and dropping thousands on their product but you know what China will and for a heck of a lot less for us! 😆 there guitars are great when we get good ones no doubt about that! overall not bad, pickup cover looks little bit different than gibson , gibson one the edge of plastic looks little bit softer ? and the corner a bit smaller,tighter, chibson one a bit rounder?
Yes, I agree. The plastic and the hardware was not reliced at all. I will post a video when I start my own Murphy lab :). I think i turned out great! As with all Chibsons, you have to be prepered to put in some of your own work to make it great. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

This seller is reliable. Sometimes the shops at Ali take down their guitars completeley. I don´t know why but I think it has to do with them rebooting their guitar stock. But send them a message and refer to my guitar. They can probably send you a ordering link. Good luck!

I'm certain as you're aware, you can order a reliced bridge & tail piece if that's what's important. I'd definitely replace those knobs. & the pickguard? Bye bye. Much like the Epiphone Probuckers are VERY good pickups, as are the P90's. Its just finding a pair. But if it's one thing Gibson makes that I dig, it's their P90's!

It's just weird because the store has been twice offline from Aliexpress, and is currently offline again now as I'm making this comment. Well, a P-90 is a beafed up version of a singlecoil so it wouldn´t be exactley the same. But a coil split is absolutley a good option if you want both. I love the P-90 though, the perfect mix between a single coil and a humbucker :)

I don’t get it ? Why do people want counterfeit guitars? It would be fine if it didn’t have a Gibson logo,serial numbers ,and exact headstock. Then the buyer says he won’t sell it without disclosure. Who knows where the guitar will end up in 20 years ? It may change hands many times and some poor kids parents will think it’s authentic. Also hear people say that Gibsons are too expensive so they are entitled to buy a counterfeit as retribution.
I agree people need to label these as fakes or there is gonna be a real issue in the future for those who don’t know better. Just buy a used Epiphone that will be much better quality. Just in my opinion that relic job looks awful but what do you expect from a Ali express guitar.
I don’t think they should be the serial numbers on. I don’t mind the Gibson logo but they could put something where the serial number should go to make it obvious it’s a fake. If I could be certain that it would come with decent wood and made correctly I’d be tempted to get one as a project guitar. I just can afford to potentially lose £200-£400. I’ve seen some that have the bridge positioned wrong.
Well, because some of these builders, will give you something that actually makes spending 300 or less truly worth your money. It's the whole logo issue. I mean, Tokai, Greco, & Burny among others have been making Les Paul style guitars for decades, with an open book headstock, but not the big G logo. & Epiphone Japan? Now they have made guitars that can wear the Les Paul name, & undoubtedly give Gibson. . . . . . . . . . A run for their money! Ha!

I don´t agree with you that every part is low quality. The neck and the body is great quality! The electronics, hardware and and plastic could be better. Maybe your Chibson is old, I heard that early Chibson´s was very bad!

Yes, It is not on level with Murphy lab that´s for sure. But I love working on guitars and tweaking them myself so for me it´s just a fun project. I´ll be posting a video soon on how I reliced the plastic and metal parts.
Gibson is doing fakes and relics too, only for $10k more then this, at least. Take your trolling some place else and your " fortune " to Gibson if you dont like this.

Ja, be dem dölja loggan för säkerhets skull. Kul! Vad valde du för extra customizations? Cathy var ganska snabb att göra gitarren, typ två veckor men sen tar frakten tid, mellan 1-2 månader. Nu kommer det kinesiska nyåret också 15 februari och då är de lediga i 15 dagar! Har hon sagt nåt datum?
