Just got one in. Looks like the exact same guitar. Finish is very good, two very small dents on the back though. Fret job is the best I have ever seen on a Chinese guitar. Tuners were the wrong ones, they are shipping me the correct tuners. Head stock is blank and no serial number which I requested. Lesson number 1, get them to send a picture before they ship it. I will be stripping off all the parts and going back with as many 57' like components as I can. Including non-potted pickups.
They are getting good with these things. Fixing to order one after the first of the year. Just got a SRV from China. Was amazed at how it plays and sounds. Check out the unboxing on my channel really sweet.
Hi Joe! thanks. I was hoping you would see it! Top and binding colors are great. This one is slightly different though. Non-Epiphone parts. Hardware seems heavier. I swapped PUs out for wax potted epi's and they sound pretty warm. The fretwork is nice and smooth. I am pretty sure its real ebony on the fretboard, it plays like it is ebony. I used some magnification and it has the long narrow pitting features ebony has. 2 inch thick, 3 piece body with great sustain and good weight. Warmachine is right , the color of the binding looks great. That is a great looking guitar. Can't wait to have a comparison day and bring mine over and hear how those potted pick-ups turn out. Nice collection.
Its the best one so far. The frets are pro...no different than any name brand guitar I own. Real ebony fretboard. The potted pickups are night and day from when they were microphonic.

That's cool, your right...I didn't notice it. This is the best chibson I own. Its funny I bought a few of these searching for that dream lottery maple flame top and the plain gold top ends up being the nicest playing, best built one. Its also the heaviest. Maybe if I remove the gold paint there will be a vintage maple flame top underneath it.
Another great one! Three weeks is awesome. Did you order it or do you think they had this one done already? Either way, you win! Great piece for your LP collection. I think I remember you saying you weren't the biggest LP fan, I think they're growing on you! I have heard good things about this seller and specifically Ajax. Another commenter is absolutely right, the binding is perfect (color and all).
Ive always loved the history and looks of Les Pauls, but I prefer true vintage Charvels and Jacksons from San Dimas (actually made in Glendora CA 78'-86'). I notice Ajax has over 200 feedbacks and his gold tops looked as close to OEM as I could find. They are in stock and ship within 4 days of payment. Stock is limited and he has sold two more since I first saw the ad. The great fretwork and ebony fretboard is no different than any name brand guitar Ive owned. They stepped it up another level for sure. The hardware is better and the PU's, though microphonic were better (not Epi's). Check out my feedbacks on the seller's page for some cool pics of the this gold top.
Thanks Matty. I was just telling some teachers at work how unfair the guitar center is for lefties. Your lucky to find a few only vs. hundreds of right hand guitars. Hey man, Max from the Netherlands here. That's a beautiful looking guitar! I've been wanting to buy a Chibson myself for quite some time now, but I was always a little sceptical about them. Your video really convinced me and I just bought the exact same! ;) Any chance you could email me some additional pictures or a demo video so I can dream away for the next 3 weeks till it arrives? If you don't want to upgrade the Pickups you can buy paraffin wax and dip them. They were not Epiphone stamped pickups like my other ones. There are many videos showing how to wax pot them. Had I learned how to do this earlier I wouldn't have upgraded my other chibsons. Im not that picky about pickups though, as long as they are not microphonic.

For the cost of 2 Chibsons, you could own an EVH Wolfgang and be done with it. A Chibson will never be a Gibson Les Paul. Just saying. Nothing wrong if you dig Chibsons. I'm sure the quality of the Chibsons has greatly improved.
I have nothing against anything, but I do think cheap crap keeps people wanting, while driving consumerism. Quality merch causes satisfaction. These $250 guitars probably play on an intermediate level after installing $350 in parts, and getting a $200 professional fret leveling, and set up. After spending nearly a grand you still have a $250 guitar you cannot sell. What a bargain!
I have sold them all except the Honeyburst which Im keeping. Yes they are really good for the money. Im not a fan of Les Pauls. I own many old Charvels, Jacksons and PRS.
