Zach kinda discredited himself as a music expert by that comment on leona lewis because it shows me his only knowledge of music is of music and artists within him proximity. Leona has an incredible discography and many hit songs, just not in the U.S including a Christmas song that is top 5 every christmas.

That was a shady comment towards Leona. Quite unprofessional to say. Her music is beautiful and she's internationally known. In the UK alone she has 3 number 1 singles, 10 top 10 singles, and 2 number 1 albums.
It was shady… Leona has had a lot of success (not to mention she has way more streams than Jesse). Both are talented artists.

Bleeding Love certainly helps, but she’d still have way more streams without it. And Leona has talked about how Jesse cowrote it. What exactly is she supposed to do to give him more credit?

Leona has two top US billboard charts with "Bleeding Love" #1 and "Better In Time" #11. She is far from being a one-hit wonder. Her highest charts are always in the UK, like Kylie Minogue, Nicole Scherzinger, and even Cher.
She had another hit here in the U.S. too called "Happy".

People often forget how huge this song was. It wasn't just a hit. Leona has quite a lot of well knows officially released like hits Run, Better in Time, Happy, I See You (title track from Avatar) plus One More Sleep new modern Christmas classic. Plus songs that were never officially released as singles but got millions of views on youtube and other platforms like Yesterday, Take a Bow, Homeless etc.
But Bleeding Love was just enormous it broke all possible records back then. And it stood the test of time. It's a timeless classic that still sounds fresh. It's very well written and produced song but what it really made this huge masterpiece was Leona's vocals. Without her it wouldn't be so successful. It would still be a nice track but it wouldn't be THAT song.
Even if Leona didn't have those other hits I would still be very thankful for this one song. Because it's not about how many songs from your discography gonna hit no1 on official charts. You can have 10 songs reaching number one and then 5 years later nobody knows them. It's about timeless classics and it's very hard to get those.
Just a thought.

Calling Leona Lewis a one hit wonder, she may have not been the biggest artist during the early 2000s but she's definitely not a one hit wonder. "Bleeding love", "better in time", "i will be", "Forgive me".......... those songs were most definitely getting played back in the day. Watch your mouth Zachary 🙃

first Leona is not a one hit wonder. Yes, she is well known for bleeding love... which i personally like not for the lyrics but for what leona vacally was able to do with the song. For me was an appreciation of her vocal skills and emotional delivery. Just because she is not famous in the US doesnt make her a one hit wonder...

1 - Bleeding Love
2 - Run (recently used in the movie Argylle)

Technically Bleeding Love makes her a one hit wonder because the song has that perfect balance of song compositions/textures where as her other is just kind of there.

Leona Lewis is a songwriter herself.They probably have similar struggles. Her trying to get around label expectations and from out of the idol shadow. Hits: A moment like this, Bleeding Love, Better in Time, Run, I will be (written/co-written by Avril Lavigne) and One More Sleep (co-written by Leona Lewis and its basically like the British version fo Mariah's All I want for Christmas). Thats just off the top of my head. Could have had Beiber's career but wouldve come with Beiber's problems.

Let's be real, Bleeding Love is not a great song, and Jesse's version is flat out not good. Leona made it a hit because there was a lot of hype around her coming off her X-Factor win, Simon/Syco were pushing her and the single HARD, and she elevated the track with her vocal performance that she performed live everywhere.

@@jimbob2427 But Leona is a British artist, not an American artist and she has had many hits in the UK and is very much a household name there. Not everything revolves around the US. It's like saying someone like Garth Brooks is a flop because he has never had a top 10 or even a top 20 single in the UK, even though he's one of the biggest selling artists in the US.
