Hey Al, I used to go there as a kid with my dad but just went back today for the first time. Threw lures land based for a couple of hours. I want to try Burley and oil hards next time to get my first Chinook. They look like they fight pretty good
Great video guys! Done very well!! I’ll have to check this place out! That sounder works so well you can see the fish! Question, what size line and leader and you running?
yes I reckon that's a bit too heavy sorry, eight pound line is a good start. There are no snags really so you can go pretty light and get more bites that way !@@outnaboutexplorers2103
Had to look this place up, ton of lakes in that area, but to have one you can catch some Salmon, just awesome. What made you think of using piltchard in freshwater? Worked great, but would of never crossed my mind. Great job, that looked like a lot of fun. Well done guys!!!
Thanks Larry! Lots of good lakes down that way ! Pilchard is a very popular bait for chinook salmon and rainbow trout ! I like frozen saltwater whitebait too which I think is even better for them !
So good, love your videos.

@@wimmerafishhunters nah I didn't fish for too long, was more so to scope things out so I can make a plan of attack next time.

Thanks so much ! We have heaps of vids done ready to go and scheduled for regular weekly releases every Friday so plenty more to come!
@@alvanstan600 it’s great for beginners or people trying new lakes to get some tips
Tighten the drag but not too tight

Thanks for the feedback !! In this video we were useing 6 and 8 pound leader. Main line on the rods was 8 pound. We love our Lowrance HDS Sounder !
@@wimmerafishhunters I always fish with 30 and 20 pound, do you think that’s too heavy and could spook the fish?
