She brings it up because it justifies her claim that she has genetic ownership rights to london, in a way that europeans could claim genetic ownership rights to Cherokee nation territory simply for europeans having lived there as 1/100th of that population for 400 years. Its completely racist and its basically european manifest destiny being played out by africans and hispanics and arabs.

This was a joy to watch KK make them all look like fools they are.
Every single one of them except Konstatin and Monty are claiming it is racist, especially Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu. When she spoke about the vikings and slavery of black people, I just had to laugh. The vikings invaded the UK back in 793 and the first black slave for the English was 762 years later in 1555. She couldn't be more wrong and her ignorance of British culture is plain for all to see.
Back in the middle ages everyone one in england outside of the landed gentry was a serf, so we ethnic english are all descended from slaves not just black people who were sold to white europeans by other black people to be sold on.

She just contradicted herself, he did not mention colour or creed, it is about culture. And if she doesnt think he should taken seriously then why is she taking him seriously. Konstantine makes a very valid point and blew them out of the water.
she demonstrated her 'culture'
The Russian born chap makes the most even keeled, non-emotional, and sound point. If “English” means “originates from England,” then an increases ratio of foreign born persons will, by definition, make England less English. That can positively or negatively influence culture. When I was a child, English fare still suffered indirectly from the effects of rationing. Everyone universally agreed that English foot was pretty awful. London now has the most diverse food in the entire world and one can find excellent food on every corner. It’s less English, but it’s much better. But there’s another side to that coin. Not every culture values women as equals. The Middle East comes to mind, as many Middle Eastern cultures treat women as chattel. When persons identifying with those values emigrate to the UK, that will have a negative effect on the net appreciation of gender equality unless those persons reject the values of their native countries. If these points can be contended, I’d love to hear it.

Why is it that the ‘British’ black woman always mentions the slave trade? I’ve never heard a true British subject ever mention it in idle conversation. The question was is London less English? I don’t recall if the slave trade that ended over 200 years ago is very relevant. It just highlights the obvious differences between the indigenous British and the migrants. Adil, you’re a disgrace. If you consider yourself British, stop attacking and start defending the country that took you and your descendants and fellow countrymen in.
Thats a good point, almost all black people in Britain today arent here because they were enslaved and brought here by force. Usually its because their parents or grandparents were very pro empire and wanted to move to the wealthy imperial heartland.
Its like how most Indians in the UK are descended from Imperial soldiers who helped forge the empire: we shouldnt let them forget they were partners in all that
@@Rynewulf Coming from Caribbean countries, where previous generations had arrived through slavery, economically migrating to a place with more opportunities, and regularly facing difficulties based on their race when they did arrive.
I don't think the Irish famine migrants in the 19th century were leaving because of their great love of imperial culture. They left because there was food.
@@jamesoconnor6550 The point that I and the other commenter were trying to make, wasnt that the British Empire was good for people (unless you were a wealthy aristocrat your options were starve, be worked to death, be transported or indentured, be shot, or depending on the date and place be enslaved. Black woman says she's british, in a non-british accent. We're coerced into lying to ourselves and others. Not for much longer.
The lady sitting next to Konstantin claims to be English because she was born here and says that mass immigration has not diluted the 'Englishness' of the city. If that is true, how come she speaks with an African accent? She has learned to speak the way she does, from her environment ...which apparently isn't less English than it used to be. Nobody denies that the Spanish culture of the Costa Del Sol has been eradicated by immigration and tourism. How is what has happened to London any different?
Yeah that’s weird I noticed a lot of minorities in England have the weirdest accents.

The Scottish people, for example, they are also "British" by nationality (British Citizens), but they're also not "English".
Her being born in England or Scotland doesn't make her English or Scottish; what would make her either English or Scottish is if she had English or Scottish ancestry as these are both ethnic groups and nations (a large body of people united by common descent, history and culture). This is the mistake that they're all making here, including Konstantin Kisin in referencing black football players as being English with no one questioning their Englishness. Their ethnic group is the ethnic group of their parents, by descent. If these black football players are at least of partial English descent, they're English, but if they're not at least of partial English descent, they're not English. In the case of her, she's Nigerian by descent, not English.

London used to be a city to go for long walks. I truly loved exploring the streets, architecture and medieval flavor, even the Roman wall, or the statues in the parks. The people were in fact polite and so so friendly. The Pubs were welcoming and friendly as well. As a young man I liked the 1970s discos. It was fascinating (for someone from NYC). Now when I go there I stay in my hotel for the most part and the farthest I'll walk is to acquire food at close-by restaurants. The place is scary, especially at night. If my business didn't demand it I would not go at all.
