Ammoudia - Preveza 4K
Ammoudia is a village in the prefecture of Preveza. The village of Ammoudia is located at the mouth of the Acheron River, known for transporting the dead to the kingdom of Hades. Administratively it belongs to the Municipality of Fanari in the Prefecture of Preveza and is bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea. It was initially recognized as a community of the Greek state under the name Splantza (1919). It was renamed Ammoudia (1928), originally belonging to the Prefecture of Thesprotia. Since 1946 it now belongs to the Prefecture of Preveza. The first inhabitant settled in Ammoudia around 1450 near the hill Gortsoula, while the village was actually inhabited in 1700.
