fast is good if your life expectancy is short but the coverage of the Darche is much better. Nice comparison lads

I like 2.5x2.5m side awning just put 2 sides on to close up the sides feel like it gives a could amount of protection and doesn't cost $1000 plus .
Most 270 awnings only come out 2m which mounted on a 4x4 with a lift don't give you much protection from the rain and they can't be lowered on a angle like the cheap side awning

I don’t know why I watched this video, have a Reign Outdoors 270 arriving tomorrow, so I guess I am just trying to validate my choice! Thanks for the info though!

Hey guys. Bushwakka has come out with more gear since that awning you have was made. They also have a 180 which has been around for ages and they have 270+ which is the 270 and 180 combined. Frames has changed etc. the one you have is a bit out dated already but still awesome.

Hey mate, the 270 does look good! They bought it out just after we made this video :(

    Great video.
What brackets are you using on the 180 awning on cross bars?

Hey mate, they are just the ones that came with the Darche awning. The box comes with three, but two gets it done!

Hi, I have a Dmax xterrain no canopy and was wanting a 270
To cover the tailgate when open, was it the Darche that has the most coverage ? Have been looking at Bush company, bundutec and 4wD destination but an expensive investment as I don’t camp all the time. Thank you for any feedback you have 😊

Hey mate, I think you will struggle to find an option that covers the whole tub. The Darche 180 has a lot of coverage, however its mostly to the side with a small rear coverage. I think bushwakka (check the CAOS website) would have a better option. You would also need to mount the awning really far forward to make sure there isn't a gap between the tub and the cab.

@@rangertouring thanks heaps , I am going to rethink my options and maybe buy tub racks or a canopy .

I have a rhino rack and a cheaper kings type. The rhino rack is much better quality. Spend the money. You will thank yourself later.

Definitely annoying having to tie down your camp structures, especially when you only have one hand coz you can't put your beer down. Maybe you should hire someone to follow you around to set everything up for you, then you won't have to do anything at camp except get the beers out of the fridge. Oh, and everything has to have a super short super quick and easy setup coz every single second is precious when you're in the bush, on holiday away from the fast pace of your regular life and you really can't spare the time and energy to extend 2 fixed poles and attach 2 guy ropes. Hey guys, it all seems a bit much for you so maybe you should just book into a nice hotel, in the city and be waited on as you relax around the pool. Hell! You won't even have to get the beers out of the fridge. 😂😂😂

as far as cost is concerned you get what you pay for.....kings gear is rubbish.....i will happily pay the $$$ for something with quality that is going to last 10 years.....speed of setup really should never factor in with camp setup.....the gear you have will all take different times to setup, not really sure why there is a push to be first setup anyways.....i would also have my wing/shade structure tied to the ground/vehicle/etc rather than free standing as a heavy gust of wind will destroy a free stander......just my 2 cents worth from 20 odd years experience

Hey mate, thanks for the comments. When camping we after on the move constantly and rarely stay in 1 spot for more then a night, so for us the quick set up is definitely worth it. Unsure what your style of camping is, however, I can imagine that if I was staying stagnant then I wouldn’t be as concerned about the set up time. Once again, if there is no breeze warranting a tie down I don’t both (which is probably 80% of the time). I will just judge it on the day, if the wind picks up then I will definitely peg it down.
