- This PCB was found in the Rock Ola 480 Jukeboxes, 484 and I believe 488. Maybe a few more, it's how the CPU kept track of how many times each song was played, and displayed that info for the customer, but also for the technician so he could tell which records WEREN'T being played, and remove them from the box.
Joe's Jukeboxes is our channel sharing all the repairs we've recorded videos of over the years. If you've got a jukebox that needs repair, if you watch our videos you may be able to fix it yourself. There are playlists here on the channel of each manufacturer, keep in mind that the boxes usually used similar if not exact mechanisms from year to year, so if you can fix one Rock-Ola, others will be very similar.
This channel is a subchannel of our main channel @JoesVideoGames !
Hey Ron, finally some time to watch ya.😊
Thanks for watching!
11/2020?? This vid has been in the can awhile!
This is a new channel just for our jukebox videos, most of these were recorded awhile back and ran on our main channel with our video game and pinball stuff, we're reuploading all of them on this separate spin off channel that will be only about jukeboxes. We didn't even tell anybody and already have almost 1000 subscribers!
When you finally turned the machine off and back on there was a difference in the numbers shown on the displays, before powered of it showed 284-297-185 and when powered back up it was 284-297-240. Was that correct? 🤓
That is exactly what I thought. Something's off...
Nothing's off.
284 has been played 3 times
297 has been played 2 times
240 has been played 1 time
185 has been played 1 time
There's a tie for #3.
What's off is you don't know what you're looking at
Does that counter also gauge what they have to pay in royalties or... How did that work?
I don't know how it works today, but back then you didn't pay royalties per play. You just paid a fee to the RIAA for the jukebox. This long ago (in the 80's) they may have not even had to do that, but in the early 2000's I know, for instance, that you just paid a fee to the RIAA for operating a jukebox. They may keep track of every play now, not sure.
So are you tellin me... soo wait say this out loud.. you are Telling me that Your Brother Donnie is actually His Brother Donnie!?!?!? man this is confusing. :)
