That's amazing that you have oranges outside your house, especially as I'm watching this on a cold grey January day in England! It was all beautifully explained and I'm going to make this my next painting, to bring some sunshine into my home. Thanks Debbie.
Thank you, Yes, Im actually quite surprised we have oranges as well this time oef year. Its quite cold outside. Im constantly inspired by whatever I can find growing in the garden. Now Kumquats too! Happy painting friend, I hope this inspired you to give them a try. Most of all have fun
That made my day Ann, Im so happy I can bring you fun tips and techniques to learn, and I hope you are inspired to pick up your brushes and paint with me~ Happy painting friend!
Debbie! You are a wealth of detailed information. I’ve watched a lot of artists in my 4 years of watercoloring and not one artist has covered the details the way you do. How very much I appreciate your attention to why we need to do certain things with shape and values. This is beautiful. Blessings to you! 💗Rita
You are so welcome! Im happy my teaching style resonates for you. Its how I learned best and I LOVE teaching this way. I hope you give these a try! Happy paintingt friend.
You are so welcome That makes me so happy. I have always loved painting oranges, lemons, well, honestly food in general. LOL. (I like cooking and eating it too) IM glad you enjoyed these! Happy painting friend.
Thank you Lolajoe985, Im happy you are enjoying them~ I love making them. I'm a newbie here, and I made it my goal to learn all of this by my 60th bday in August. So here I am. Happy Painting, friend, and thanks for being here with me!
Now I want orange juice and I want to smell the fresh scent of citrus. This was a very beneficial video for me, I learned so much. Debbie, I have a lot of trouble with fillers for my florals, I'm not sure where to place them and I always use the same thing and it just looks like a mess. The florals are ok but the fillers are all over the place. I hope I explained that correctly. Thanks again Debbie for all your hard work to bring us such in depth, art tutorials.🧡💚🖌🙂x
Yes, that goes into creating composition and placement of fillers to help with the composition flow and rythym. I have done a tutorial different fillers and this would be the next step. I love Your curiosity around “how do you know where to place those fillers” I will get a tutorial done for that! Great question Penny! I’m So happy you are finding value in these videos~ I made a giant pitcher of fresh orange juice. I’m a daily juicer, so these came in very useful to combine in my juicer with carrots, beets and apples . The smell is divine :) .
@Debbie Walker Art Debbie, that sounds delicious. I could make that I have all the fresh ingredients. Thanks, for all you're help, you're the best teacher I have found on youtube. 🧡x
I do love botanicals and fruits and vegetables. They are so beautiful and so much fun to paint. Interesting, you do not get leaves on your oranges? I have more leaves than fruit! My lemon tree is so dense, although there are no lemons yet, and the orange tree full of leaves and quite a few oranges. Which is what you see in the tutorial here. I hope you give them a try, they are quite beautiful, and the orange and green are beautiful hues when painted together. Happy painting friend!
I'm glad, I LOVE eating and painting fruit and veggies :-) Here is my playlist for you, Have fun! ua-cam.com/play/PLGvRyB1lQxymTYDh9jAgmk3p2GTD71fFe.html&si=4EGGPyYC3NeQsTSw
Thank you Puffy, I love painting fruit, and vegetables, I was commissioned a couple times to paint them for books. So much fun, and love the colors~ I hope you give them a try
Thank you! I love food and painting food especially colorful fruits, and citrus. And my trees are full, cant eat them all so might as well paint them :-) Might do a lemon on a vintage recipe sheet this week. Have fun friend im glad you are enjoying my classes !
Im always studying the colors, and underlying hues that come from flowers, fruit, and vegetables; there are so many beautiful colors many times overlooked. So beautiful, Mother Nature is beautiful, isn't she! Happy painting friend!
GReetings Kerrylaw, You can always add in a wash in the background behind the oranges and leaves. I used to add washes to all of my paintings; over the years, I am really enjoying the white space. It is a practice for me to leave it nice and clean. You never know I may get tired of the white space and go back to washes again! Happy painting friend~
