This would have taken me all day. 😅 Just lovely. I have those brushes, and I love them. I'm a newbie at Watercolor, but those brushes have helped me quite a bit. I like every Meeden product I've gotten so far. I absolutely love their palettes. I'm definitely going to give this one a go. I love it! Also....you cat is GORGEOUS!!!! I love the little mew, mews at the end. I have a siamese as well. Wonderful cats. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for your lovely comments! We have two of those cats and they are the soppiest things! We were lucky to get them - they were abandoned in the dustbin at the vets and we were able to rehome them. So glad you are enjoying the Meeden products. I think they are very good value for money!
If we can find the time, we would love to create that. Do you know anywhere I can get myself cloned? Actually, it’s not me, I need to get Tamsin cloned! Maybe we might be able to get round to it soon - it’s a very good idea!
That is a GREAT painting Diane. Every time I watch you paint, I’m amazed at how easy you paint such a lovely pice of art!! You’re a natural. Love your kitty too. ♥️ THANKYOU Diane
Well, he’s a very handsome boy indeed. I’m definitely going to have a go at this one. Love him, and I love hearing Gabriel crowing in the background. Yes, it’s been very hot here in England as well. Very unseasonably hot. Thank you, Diane for another lovely tutorial. 😊

Hello Diane, thank you for sharing your rooster, Gabriel with us. I know that he seems a nuissance, but honestly, living in a big city, I LOVE rooster calls (some of our Cuban neighbors keep roosters and chickens even in the city. HURRAY!) The rooster calls remind me of being in the countryside, surrounded by nature, away from loud noises of my younger neighbors refer to as "music" and all of the machinery of my other obssessive neighbors who are constantly manicuring their front lawns and unnecessarily cutting the few trees we have in the city and all the loud noises of traffic, etc. I find nature sounds very relaxing. So, please give Gabriel a big kiss from me. But I agree, he needs to be separated from the hens. They deserve peace. And, thank you for a great idea. Recently I bought a rooster lamp, all in cream color and have been debating about how to paint it. I love your choice of colors. I shall revisit it when I am ready to paint my rooster lamp. I hope that you don't mind me "copying" from you. And, thank you for the footage of your yard, cat and Gabriel.... I really enjoyed it. Hugs, Eve
Hi Eve, thanks so much for your lovely message! I don’t really mind Gabriels noise. He doesn’t keep me awake at night! He does crow in the middle of the night though which is a bit strange! So glad you enjoyed the video, it’s one of my favourite subjects to paint, I think I must’ve done 100 of these roosters!
Thanks Diane, I love your farm. Your kitty looks beautiful. The watercolor rooster is awesome. Christmas chickens would be great. Thanks fir your time sharing.
Good morning Diane. I hope you’re feeling alright. Drink lots of water. I’m in rural NE British Columbia, Canada and have been following you for a long time. I thoroughly enjoy your gibber gabber and your whimsical paintings. Take care of yourself.
I love the vibrant colors of this rooster, his kind eye, and those legs....wow...those legs are everything! Yes, on the chicken cards please! Here's a good expression for you..."Birds of a feather flock together." Just like your adoring fans flock to Miss Diane! XO
Diane, my Granny once told me, that in order to be a good cook, "every kitchen needs a Rooster in it ". Well, I have enough in my kitchen, but im going to attempt to paint this and frame it for my wall. Thank you for the inspiration.
Absolutely fabulous ….. so vibrant ….. lovely to watch the whole video just now on a very hot evening here in England……. I will look forward to having a go at it as soon as possible (when I am feeling cooler )….. loved the cat and cockerel just at the end too🤗…… I might just add that you do keep me sane in this world that we all live in 🤪👍
Hello Diane, I have been watching your UA-cam videos for a short time now and learning so much about watercolor painting! I am new at this, but already done some pretty good watercolor paintings! So grateful for your expert and easy to follow videos and advice. I shall be following along and enjoying all your work and teaching! Thank You!
I didn’t want this video to finish. Your painted Rooster was beautiful and I could have seen him strutting off the page. Then you showed us Gabriel, and your beautiful pussycat. My arms were twitching to rub his little belly. So gorgeous. Thank you so much Diane. I feel so relaxed. ❤️❤️❤️

someone probably told you already, but in America we call the male "chicken", a rooster. I have said don't count your chickens until they hatch my who life along with the others words you've mentioned. How relaxing watching this gorgeous painting. XOJANE
We have backyard chickens (and goats😁)! I love everything about this tutorial. From your effortless, whimsical style, the simplicity of the supplies, to your subject matter, you've quickly become one of my favorite watercolor channels!
He is so lovely! Many friends in our suburban area have backyard chickens including our attorney who has a large yard and raises all types of fowl. Roosters are prohibited because of all the noise they create but I like to hear them. When we stayed in the Florida Keys, there was a rooster that came to visit every morning and was our alarm clock. I think I will paint this for our chicken-loving friends.
Shame about the rules which inhibit people from living normal lives. I know Gabriel is quite noisy but you get used to him, he just crows like any of the other birds around and about!
What a great subject your Rooster as we call them in the U.S. However, in my experience the cat always has to be at the center of everything and have the last word 🙂 Blessings
I think I could hear your rooster crow while you were painting the oak leaves! He must approve of your painting - which is delightful, and it is so much fun to watch your inspiring techniques. Thank you for sharing your expertise, Diane!
What a superb video! Love the painting - the rooster has so much personality! He just jumps off the page. Gabriel is a hoot - his strut is just the best.
