What Iron Maiden song should I react to next??
Dance of Death (Death on the Road tour) or Rime of The Ancient Mariner (Live after Death 84 tour)
Hallowed be Thy Name (Live Flight 666)
The Number of the beast/Wasted Years / Aces High / 2 Minutes to Midnight/Flight of Icarus/Revelations/Powerslave…n tons of Iron Maiden stuffs still there 🤘🏼
The Clansman Live
Iron Maiden-Hell On Earth
One of the reasons the 80's and 90's concerts were so great everyone was up moving cheering and some even body surfing you don't get that level of energy anymore because everyone is standing still cell phone in hand trying to record the concert rather then living it
fun fact: the more you film a concert, the harder it is to remember the live experience
I miss the lighters during the ballads...phone lights just aren't the same.
@@stormykeep9213 I still use lighter. I don't smoke - but I always have one on the concerts. And people look at me like I was some kind of mad man, when I light it during ballads. When did people lost the way? But to hell with them, a tradition is a tradition.
Exactly.
clearly you are going to the wrong concerts then.
I’m from Brazil I watch these guys play with my father when I was little.. Bruce would literally stop the show when he sees his female fans are in distress.. I love this guy he’s so awesome!! Love his music
Amy, your father played with Maiden? I would be interested in hearing more That’s cool as hell!
@@James_Russellactually no.. excuse me I meant my father & I saw them play in concert,He didn’t play with them.. would be awesome tho 🙂
@@Amy_Ramirez03 a cool story either way 🙂. Your father knows good music. I’ve taken two of my daughters to a Maiden concert as well. Up the irons.
Rock in Rio is worth listening to all the way through, some of the best versions all in one show imo
Maiden never disappoint live. I have to agree with several other comments on here - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner live is a must-watch!
Agree 100%.
The best Maiden live performance? LOL how many does she want to watch? 😂
Up the Iron. 🤘
Everyone puts Rime of the ancient mariner from the En Vivo shows but I think the 1985 Long Beach Arena show is the best version. It shows how good they were at the start of their career and why people like myself for so into them at the age of ten years old I know they'd been together since the end of the 70s , but that tour was the first with the main five that are the most well known line up.
One of my favorites. Up the Irons!
Maiden fans at concerts ALWAYS sing along to their songs (at least from my experience - 26 shows for me).. They are a true sing along band.
The rhyme of the ancient mariner is just the best
250,000 people singing along to your song has got to be the greatest high of all time.
200 people in a university bar room was the very first time I saw Maiden , chatted to them after the gig , they’ve come sooo far 🥰❤️👌
1. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Hammersmith 1982. 2. The Talisman, En Vivo DVD 2011. 3. Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Flight 666 2008. 4. Paschendale, Death on the Road 2003. 5. Killers, Maiden England 1988. 6. Dance of Death, En Vivo 2011. 7. Brave New World, Rock in Rio 2001. 8. Aces High, Flight 666 2008. 9. Book of Souls, Live Chapter 2017. 10. When the Wild Wind Blows, En Vivo 2011.
I'd have a different list tomorrow if asked. There are so many top tier live Maiden performances to choose from. These are a decent representative sample.
An excellent list to follow Lilly...
@Talisman MIA...no "The Trooper"?
That is a true Maiden listeners list right there
Initially, 'Fear of the dark' was not a single from the 1992 album 'Fear of the dark'... Iron Maiden's 9th studio album. But the reaction the song got on their '92 - '93 tour was so huge that when a live album was released in 1993 ('A real live one')... a live version of 'Fear of the dark' was released and the song remained in Maiden's concert setlist to this day. Steve Harris (bass) wrote the music and lyrics, and the live version is actually better than the studio one. I'm guessing it was drawn from the writings of Egar Allan Poe... the phobia and paranoia that is invoked in the absence of light... Dickinson claimed Harris did have a phobia of darkness...
Despite 'Fear of the dark' charting at #1 in the UK in 1992, it marked the start of a very bad 90's phase for Iron Maiden... First, longtime producer (the late) Martin Birch announced he was retiring... Then, Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson were at odds in the studio and their relationship became frayed.
Maiden announced a massive tour, and arenas were booked... But 90's grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden...) broke big that year and their US label did not promote 'Fear of the dark' actively (it failed to sell gold status in the US)... Few years later, their UK label also declined to promote Maiden's albums and were making changes for the future, anticipating the internet and online distribution of music.
And then, Bruce Dickinson dropped a bombshell announcement in 1993 - he was leaving Iron Maiden after the tour... His final show was broadcast for Pay-per-view and released as the concert video 'Raising hell' w/ horror illusionist Simon Drake. In 1994, Bruce Dickinson released his 2nd solo album 'Balls to Picasso'... on his solo tour, he declined to perform Maiden songs and admitted he was burnt out from Maiden's exhaustive touring schedule.
Iron Maiden recruited singer Blaze Bayley and released their 10th album 'The X Factor' in 1995 w/ Steve Harris producing... it was a dark and different Maiden album, and fans were not happy w/ the changes - new singer, new sound... it sold poorly in the alternative 90's and the next album 'Virtual XI' (1998) sold worse. Iron Maiden were literally playing clubs and theaters after they had been playing arenas in 1993.
Even Bruce Dickinson found his solo career stalled by 1998...
So, the decision was made to fire Blaze Bayley in '99 and reunite w/ both Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith... for a reunion tour, and then an album ('Brave new world') in 2000... 'Rock in Rio' was the last show of that tour in Brazil, recorded and released for a live album 'rock in Rio'... and Maiden was big business once again.
This one is a real good one for audience sing along participation. Other live performances to check out - Phantom of the Opera Live (6:56 min with DiAnno singing), Rime of the Ancient Mariner Live Flight 666, Dance of Death Live En Vivo
Rime of the ancient mariner wasn't in the rock in rio 2001 setlist. The only 2 versions I can think of are the 1985 (I think that's the right year) at longbeach during the powerslave tour, and then there's the 2008 flight 666 version
@@markparkin5372 he doesn't said about Rio anything
@@IRONIVAN89 he's edited the reply now. Originally it did
The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner ( Note: the song it self, is over 13 mins long, but damn well worth it)
One of my favorite live performances is dance of the Dead. There's a couple different versions of it but the one I like is when he does something similar to pantomime as he's singing the story. I know being a hip hop fan, lyrics are probably important to you. So the other song I recommend is passchendale. The lyrics are some of the best I've ever heard in a song.
Rime of the ancient mariner.
Love the South American audiences. They always have so much energy and love to sing along to the guitar melodies. On my bucket list to see a metal concert down there, probably in Buenos Aries.
Ty North América have some good audiences too; my plans is see some metal bands in Toronto 👍🏻
That bass line
Greatest metal band of all time.
I love watching your videos cause it reminds of being a teenager in the 80’s and 90’s, discovering this music for the first time. I have a plethora of memories centered around this album but of course this song in particular. Thank you for bringing back so wonderful memories, especially from this show.
best Maiden live start in 1978 and never ends !
Love Iron Maiden ever since the first time I saw them In Detroit, Michigan in June of 1981 for their Killer World Tour. They were awesome then and remain awesome in all the other tours of theirs that i have seen.
I was a cab driver in Cocoa Beach Florida for a better part of a decade and the drummer lived around there the pleasure of giving him a ride a few times really cool dude
One of the best effective memorable cool guitar riffs ever.
i always sing along to this song
This was the first English song which I remember by heart by writing down lyrics as I had no internet when I was 13.
I remember seeing Iron Maiden live in 2010 and the audience participation was amazing and really added to their performance and general atmosphere.
Thanks for your reaction. Love that song
The band and that Brazilian crowd kicked so much ass
Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, in each way, are unmatchable audiences
Heaven can wait, live in Brazil was amazing too!
fear of the dark live is always my favorite because I experienced it at a festival. its either the best or just behing metallica going for 2 and a half hour in the park. those two groups were amazing.
Masters of their craft !
I've seen Maiden in concert many times and every single time they play Fear of the Dark it sounds exactly like this. The crowd ALWAYS sings along with Bruce with this song. It's a very surreal experience.
I stiil remember when saw them on the first Rock in Rio in 1985, 1.3 million people... it was awesome !!! ... after that i saw them 4 or 5 times in Rock in Rio also.. they always make a great concert 🤘😎🤘..!!
I absolutely love iron maiden. A lot of their songs are story based which are songs that you seem to enjoy. The talisman is a very underrated song, but I’m one of my favorites, and I love the rime of the ancient mariner. There’s so many good songs that they have, and I highly recommend you check the stand out more.
I'm booked to see them in June and saw them last June and even in their sixties they are awesome. Rime of the Ancient Mariner or Dance of Death are a must. Happy reacting. 😃
I love your reaction. Greetings from The Netherlands 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Infinite dreams you'll love into.
No more lies... Another beautiful into.
Enjoyed your video. You thoroughly look like your enjoying it. 🤘🤘🤘
I remember being 17 around 1995. We traveled to the countryside with couple of teenage friends to a weekend house at the edge of the woods. The neighbours were hunderts of meters away. We put the album Fear of the Dark into the hi-fi and listened to it at max volume...
I still miss the freedom and the energy...
Best Iron Maiden Live
The Clansman
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Both in Rock in Rio 2001
This song is one of the best and emblematic of Iron Maiden and of course, one of the best metal bands
Great reaction video. The Trooper and Aces High are my favourite live performances (along with about forty other ones).
You are never to.old for Metall and Iron Maiden are.thebest Exempel. For this 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I have seen Iron Maiden 17 times since 1985.... always AWESOME !!!!!!
Those guys are in their sixties now, and their shows are STILL that f'ing lit!!!
If you haven't seen them, it's a must.
Want to hear some newer stuff? Check out "Hell on Earth" or "Death of the Celts" from their new album.
One of the greatest metal bands!
Somewhere in Time album is🔥🤘🤪🤘🔥
When it comes to live Iron Maiden performances you need to react to Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Flight 666). It's a must!
This is the video that I send to people to explain why Maiden is the best lol. Definitely do this one
The only race that truly matters,...the Human race'-P
Up the mighty Irons!!!!
Got the cd and dvd from this show.Great stuff.
Adrian and Dave on guitars (and Jannick(who replaced Adrian when he left for a minute, and stayed even after Adrian came back) Bruce on vocals, Steve Harris/Bass(writes most of the lyrics) Nicko on drums /,,/ !
WHERE EAGLES DARE! // Best Maiden performance, anything off of their Flight 666 rockumentary !
Still one of the BEST SONGS EVER!!! Love all your reactions girl.. keep it up ❤🔥
I love this song
There is sooo many in the high twenties, but you should try when the wild wind blows live en vivo;-)
An epic modern-day Romeo and Juliet ;-P
In my opinion the very best live performance of them is "The Clansman" from the same Concert Rock in Rio 2001. There you can see how much fun they have playing their music to such an amazing crowd
Wasted Years - Iron Maiden🤘🏼
Great reaction thanks 🇨🇷
Great reaction! Maiden has three leads on guitar. (Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers). 3 of the best. “Dance of death” live en vivo is a must see as well as “Rime of the ancient Mariner” flight 666 dvd live version. ✌️
I was there in the infernal heat of Rio de Janeiro in a distant summer of 2001! Good memories of Maiden, Sepultura, Rob Halford and Queens of the Stone Age.
"Where the eagles dare" from the album piece of mind...i love your reactions👌
Check Iron Maiden Best life performance
- Heaven Can Wait ( live 1988)
- The rime of the Ancient Mariner ( flight 666 2008)
- Red and Black ( Book of souls tour)
I was at that concert it was the first time I ever saw Iron Maiden live, I flew with my two cousins to Brazil for that Rock In Rio in 2001, I was 21. The highlights were Iron Maiden, Rob Halford (before rejoining Judas Priest), Sepultura, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Silverchair, Queens Of The Stone Age, Sting, Neil Young, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Deftones, and the Guns N' Roses disastrous comeback, but for most of the 7 days were bad behaviour from people throwing plastic bottles to most artist especially to 'N SYNC, haha.
Later I saw Maiden again four more times over the years including during the Flight 666 DVD recorded shows for the Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008/2009. My favorite live video for this song is the one from the 1992 Donington Festival performance they released in that same year, you know for the Fear of The Dark World Tour when Bruce Dickinson decided to quit Maiden.
Também estava lá e com a mesma idade 🤣 quase morrendo com o calor infernal do Hell de Janeiro
for some kickass guitar from Maiden:
The Trooper
Aces High
2 Minutes to Midnight
Where Eagles Dare
Flight of Icarus
I have see them once. Gothenburg 2005. Bruce have a great energy on stage. Love to see them live. Best song live i is ” the number of the Beast”
Seen them 36 times 🤟🏴
Best live band ever. Up the irons!
"Rime of the ancient mariner" or "Powerslave" are great guitar songs
Rime of the Ancient Mariner Live Flight 666, Is also really good if you have not listened or seen it yet.
Iron maiden is one of the best bands ever hands-down no question
dance of death en vivo version.that performance i reckon ranks up there with the best just with how much energy the whole band and also the chile fans put into the whole performance.if you want the hairs standing up on your arms then take a listen!
i can totally see you thoughtre green day, a good decade later tho.
it has a similar time signature early on but mainly i suspect it is
the walk alone lyric. also for fans of the movie carousel.
Oh Man, Maiden were my band back in the 90s, this is the first album I brought with my own money and it blew me away! Steve Harris is the best bassist in the world in my opinion & Dave Murray ( second lead solo player ) is the reason I got into playing the guitar!!
'Evil That Men Do' is one of my favourite songs by Maiden & 'Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter' is a great song to listen to live.
Sometimes a completely stunned silence is the only way to react to an Iron Maiden song
If you want extreme crowd interaction live shows , check out bands playing at the yearly Wacken festival. Almost every metal band you reacted to played there at least once. They don't always have the best stage theatrics due to limited time, but the size and energy of the crowd does not get any bigger. Also, since it is such a prestigious event, the sound quality is normally much better than normal live shows.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner! On live after Death video...
The bass Steve Harris still plays today is the same bass he had during the Live After Death tour. It is repainted and renovated a little after each tour. But it's the same body as it was in 1984
Sign of the Cross from the same show is absolute must see.
Currant tour they are amazing. Just get better and better
For me the very best performance is one of the whole shows in long beach arena in 1985! Not just one song but ALL OF THEM!
Wait till you do “Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner” live. That will be your best live performance of a song by Iron Maiden. Flight 666 is a great version
this is the best of the beast
Damn ) Iron Maiden is the best heavy metal bands ) enjoy all of their masterpieces)
Listening to what you said during the reaction, I do find one thing quite funny. After the 1st reaction to Maiden I watched from you, this was one of my suggestions in the comments. That was quite a few months back. 2 more songs from that same show are just as awesome, Brave new world and Number of the beast. Actually, that whole show is pretty much the best I've seen of theirs. One other suggestion or request though, Godsmack - Under your scars as well as Unforgettable. Even in your own time, you won't regret it. P.S Thanx for not pausing during the solos. Take care🖤🎤🎼
Iron Maiden - the clansman live @rock in Rio
Wratchild on the same concert is sick!! But speaking about best live performances, you should check Aces high and Rime of the ancient mariner, both from flight 666 live dvd.
I would suggest 'The Dance of Death' from the En Vivo concert in Santiago Chile. Lots of changes in music style and tempo as well as crowd interaction.
I suggest watching a full live version on UA-cam of the legacy of the beast tour. You will see a lot of good live performances. They have used more props and turned it into a theatrical experience.
Dave Murray, very technical player. Adrian Smith, more street edge. Jannik Gers, technical player with a little more presentation and flash. All great guitarists in their own right. They all fit the band perfect.
Maiden's following in South America is unreal. Those shows are always crazy.
Iron Maiden - The Clansman Live
This is my favourite Maiden song, it's insane!Great reaction.
Some other bands and songs to react later, you can't be disappointed from them
Jinjer - Pisces
Unleash the Archers - Awakening
Arch Enemy - The Eagle flies alone
Manowar - Warriors of the World
Dio - Holy Diver
Try the Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It is an epic, long masterpiece! xx
I'm from Brazil, people here is crazy, but the best concert I've been to was.... ACDC in Argentina at the RIVER PLATE Staduim....
This one of my favs, but I also like when the wild wind blows and for the greater good of God as well.
Bruce is awesome, I am sure you know that he is a qualified airline pilot.
Long live melodic metal
You should react to "Children of the Damned". Listen to the studio version first, and then, the live version. It is very deep and powerful.
Glad to see you reacting to Iron Maiden. Check out "Rime of the Ancient Mariner"!
regarding the similarity between this and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"... well, the melody line ascends and descends similarly... guess that could be it.
Please please please do "The Clansman" From this same show
