That’s crazy!! I just went to Walmart the other night and walked back into the movie section, and grabbed FOUR 4K steelbooks!! Fright Night, Rise of the Beasts, Jurassic Park, and No Way Home!!! First time I’ve seen movies in a store like it used to be!!
Walk Hard is so underrated. I picked it up because I didn’t have the director’s cut yet but I echo the other sentiments in the comments about wanting these to be 4K.
I don’t think Walmart can cater to your preferences alone. 4K physical media market is niche. Standard Blu-ray market is dwindling fast, but still a bit broader than 4K alone as it’s been around longer. So Walmart probably wants to make sure they can maximize sales in that small market. Otherwise, I would agree with you. And their prices are still on the expensive side, which I think is counterproductive.
I bought the 'Walk Hard' steelbook without blinking, but I had no idea it was part of a whole wave...and I certainly had no earthly idea that wave would also include 'Anaconda'. That movie is legitimately one of my very favorite 90's horror romps. I adore that movie, and honestly, the special effects hold up remarkably well for their time (to my eyes). This may actually be the film's first release on blu-ray if I'm not mistaken. The Wal-Mart link still says it's on pre-order status, but damn I'm so excited for this. Thank you for keeping us all in the know, Ken!
Nice, didnt no Holllow Man was getting a steel. I bought the boxset of Hollow Man 1 and 2 from 88 films bout a month ago I`m pretty happy with. Love the new artwork on it

Man I understand how you feel about snakes. I am glad there are not many in the UK. You can enjoy them on your side of the pond. I also loved anaconda growing up, not seen it in years though so need to sort that. Stunning steelbooks.

Apparently these steelbooks were supposed to be released today but Walmart screwed up and put the wrong release date in their system. I’m hoping it gets corrected ASAP!

That's one hefty tax rate for a movie that's supposed to be $24.96. Maybe you're being charged shipping, too. I honestly think bluray should be $15 to 20, but those steel books did look above average, so I'm on the fence.

Picked up the Walk Hard Steel at walmart pre-ordered Anaconda and Hollow Man on Atomic Movie Store for $16.99 each! Gotta pre-order that Children of the Corn next. Cool steel crap movie lol
If I'm going to watch Walk Hard The Dew Cox Story again, I would stick to the Theatrical version. There's way too much sausage in the unrated/uncut version. I think around the mid 2000s a lot of raunchy comedies did that with the unrated versions.

I’m hoping Mill Creek fixed the audio on Anaconda. It should be 5.1 not 2.0. The DVD has much better better sound than the Blu-Ray
