    Gosh girl. I'm sorry to hear about what is going on. That seems to be a big thing here in Florida also. Have your attorney go after them and get a Judgment against the company and all owners. Im a paralegal here in Florida and do not know the laws on Tennessee but put the hammer to them. I hate dishonest people. Anyhow, I love to watch you fish, either a good day or bad day. You are an amazing angler and make us all proud. Tight lines..

    I've watched most of your vids, and that was a bad day for you, but anyone who sees this will applaud the way you overcame the start of the day. You've not seen a bad day until you've seen a dave habenstein meltdown. I've been working on it, working on breathing and telling myself I'm doing what I love, etc. but for me if I woulda lost those first couple, there would have potentially been a broken rod, punching of the tackle bags, and loudly calling the fish 15 types of mfer's and pos's. There may not have been any recovery and a blank or 1or 2 fish day would have likely resulted. I mean one time, no joke, during one of my meltdowns I missed a fish while I was eating a sandwich and proceeded to throw the pb&j on the floor of kayak and stomp it repeatedly smearing sticky pb all over the yak and my bare foot.....then I was hungry later and more angry.
    I saw at the one point when you almost lost it and yelled "GOSH' and kinda swung the rod down like you were gonna wack the side of the hobie with it, but then you restrained yourself and got back to fishing. That's not how the situation woulda played out for me, like at all. That's why you are as good as you are, making a recovery and salvaging the day. This was an awesome vid, one of my favorites you've done cuz it shows the real side of fishing, the overcoming adversity. "Adversity is dope" in the words of Brian Latimer. I really enjoyed this vid and can't wait to see Caddo myself.
    Good luck with the house thing.....I know my parents had almost the same situation happen and when they sued the contractor and won he immediately filed bankruptcy, then a few months later started a company under a different name and they never saw any money back, it was a complete nightmare and the stress led to my parents splitting up for a while while court stuff was going on and all that. There is no real protection from dirty contractors screwing you over, and that's just not right. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully some money can be recovered somehow. See you next season Kristine. --Dave

    I fish a fluke a lot and have totally quit using EWG hooks on them due to the high frequency of missed hook sets. I use straight shank hooks only now and manually kick the point of the hook out to the side a bit.

    I’m Tennessee there is a Law, TCA 39-14-154 actions by a home improvement provider that constitutes an offense. We prosecute people all the time for this law. There are a few hoops to jump through but it’s worth it to have these scammers arrested. Contact your local law enforcement and ask them about it and file a report. Don’t let them tell you it’s a civil issue. If you had a contract and it’s been 90 days since you signed the contract, you can prosecute criminally as well as sue civilly. Good luck and thanks for producing all the content.

  • @academicmailbox7798
    @academicmailbox7798 Рік тому

    Kristine, it's the interest rates (for most of a decade, the bid prices of building contractors just kept on getting lower and lower). Tradespeople were working at loss (trying to buy market share, and snuff out their contractor competition). And the low to zero interest rate environment encouraged that behavior from builders. They kept on taking on work at 'loss making' rates of reimbursement (and worked basically off of cashflow for a decade). Small building contractors and trades accumulated mountains of debt in their businesses at that practice. No one went bust though, because with the interest rate floored. Days of reckoning never arrived. As the saying goes, you don't know who's swimming naked until the tide goes out. Well guess what, the tide has gone out. And you'll witness far more of these cascading style defaults of small enterprise, as they scramble to do all kinds of weird things to remain afloat (the 'weights in fish' in October 2022, is pretty much like dark clouds appearing across the landscape, of that kind of thing). Contracting companies are like drowning men, they'll do the most extreme things to try and save the business going under. And the ugliest truth about construction is. It can often be guys who do the right thing, end up being employees of people who 'matress' a lot of money at times such as this. And then come out swinging like a champ with some business cashflow. After economic devastation has occurred, and a massive economic 'reset' has happened. That's what your cash was acquired for, in order to become seed capital for some start-up construction enterprise in the next cycle. The reality I can tell you though, is that a lot of people had started not to trust a lot of other partners in the construction supply chain. Even as far back as 2018 and 2019. As I said, most construction businesses back then were not making money (only operating loss-making kinds of business, to buy their way into the casino table that was construction). And that is the reason why suppliers of components, materials and products have just stopped playing ball too. They're all simply waiting around to figure out their next move. My guess is some contractor got stiffed by inflation of products and materials finishing off projects in 2021. And now, they're ripping off customers just to repair that financial hole. And innocent customers are getting victimized in the process. It's no better than a street mugging. And if law and order doesn't exist, law abiding people can't carry that. They can't carry blame for others who won't behave.

    • @academicmailbox7798
      @academicmailbox7798 Рік тому

      What I would have done Kristine, was take your tournament money and invest it in yourself. And train yourself to become a small business manager or accountant. And have the skills to own and operate your own business some day. I'd say it to almost anyone of a younger age in fishing and outdoors. Whatever surplus you can create. Use that to buy skills and further training (because that's exactly the part that sports people or athletes miss out on, to become what they try to become). As for construction and real estate. I've been around too many characters who have both made it, and seen it all vaporize as quickly. When it comes to that treacherous water, there always seems to be a bigger player. A bigger fish in the pond. Who will have you for supper.

    There's a book you can read or listen to on Audible called: "Your sacred self" by Dr. Wayne Dyer. It talks about letting things go, and almost staying in a meditative state especially in times like this. I'm a senior in college and play tournament chess and this helps me a ton. Every now and then on a busy day, just close my eyes and act as if I'm a boat on the lake.

I’m glad you showed your subscribers that there’s good days and bad days for kayak bass anglers, and regardless of how talented you might be, we all get humbled. Gutty performance, Kristine. I've never seen anybody loose so many fish! Either you're not sharpening your hooks or not setting the hook hard enough. I've also seen you break off more fish than you should. Try switching the knot you tie a line to a hook or snap to the Fish-N-Fool knot. It's a knot I invented many years ago. It was tested on the TV show "Knot Wars" and proven to be the strongest knot ever tested with braid or mono. Hopefully using this knot and keeping your hooks sharp will help you win a few more of these tournaments. There are hundreds of videos on the net that show how to tie it, but they all do it wrong. Here is the correct way to tie my Fish-N-Fool knot
    ua-cam.com/video/oA2XKUF11_8/v-deo.html The knot tying starts at 2:45 into the video. The rest is a shameless plug for my baits that I don't sell anymore. lol

    Not trash talking.. But why is it that people that fish yaks always have to give away what there doing with long monologs even if there fishing tourneys for money? For me I could care less what someone else is doing. the fun part of fishing is figuring out the pattern on my own. Love your videos just wondering

    Can you explain the "Camera Boat"? Are they connected with the tournament, or your team documenting your day in the water? To be perfectly honest it seems they're a distraction for you. That and an annoyance on our end watching. I'm used to you talking us through all your struggles and successes on the water and with them following you around asking you questions... I just feel disconnected with you. To be honest.

    • @kristinefischer2289

      They are with the tournament organization. I was the grand champion of this tournament last year, so they started the day with me. They make a TV episode on Hobie outdoor adventures that covers this event. It definitely is a distraction to me, and not my favorite part, but as a professional, it’s something we have to deal with in the big tournaments. The elites and MLF have a camera guy with them 24/7. No different
