My father used to play it when I was young. He passed away when I was 16. I had the first few seconds of this beautiful melody in my mind and the tabs of it that he gave me, no title at all. Finally found it after almost 2 years. I cry of joy and sadness right now, thank you for this recording
Mine as well. I just walked past a busker in underground playing it- asked him the name. Been years looking for it. He'd play a version by "los fronterizos, guitarra trasnochada", I think based on this one, but with lyrics ... had never found the original.
My Dad once told me why he can not listen to this piece of music without filling up with tears; when he was a young man in Italy, his friend would often play this on his guitar ( i think Vernazza was the town), but the friend died tragically young, and my Dad couldn't bear going back there, to Vernazza, because whenever he saw the deads friends Mother, she would look at my Dad with such sorrow and longing for her dead son , because they were the same age (my Dad and his friend), that it broke my Dad's heart, just knowing that the Mother was seeing my Dad and thinking " my son would be that age now.....if he had lived". And to this day, just from that story, I too break my heart over the love that was lost. Such sweet, sweet sorrow that music can stir in you. I'm so grateful to still have my Dad in my life, and all my family! Kisses and hugs to all.
A dearly departed friend, in Phoenix, used to play this, it was very relaxing. Luckily, i have him on cassette tape. Need to transfer to digital before it gets too old. RIP Nick M.
Composer is unknown but done in late 1800 s...... Still one f the world's greatest pieces ever composed.... Not an easy piece to master the picking and timing.....
I have a copy of the album "OUT" by Jack Sheldon - circa 1963 and there is a rendition of "Romance de Amor" included in the album. According to the credits on the pressing, "Romance de Amor" was written by the Spanish/American guitarist and composer Vincente Gómez.
A friend's daughter played this today at a local tavern and it impressed me so much. Being a finger style classical player as often as I can be I recognized something that withstood the test of time.
This song and its name just popped into my head. What a beautiful melody. I used to play this on my guitar back in my early 20s. I have long since forgotten how to play it, but it's wonderful to hear it again.
Having learnt classical for many years and knowing the piece well, I concur with many others that this is definitely the best version of this song on here. Beautifully played, great technique.
Of course it was played beautifully. There were no rattling strings, but the dynamics were different. There you should hear bass. but the main thing I liked. Thank you for the performance! I'm from Russia!
+Frans “Fr0glol” Alexandersson Opposite of free strokes, instead of just playing the string, your finger sort of rests on the next string right after without making that string ring. Sorry if that's confusing, don't know how to explain it.
I have been looking for it ever since I heard it in a Korean TV drama" Autumn in my Heart ".... very difficult to find.. a sincere thank you for uploading... appreciate very much. Pandora plays it in the morning hours. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸👍
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!MASTER OF CLASSICAL!!!MASTER OF PLUCKING FINGER!!!SO BEAUTIFUL...AT ALL!!!IM SO PROUD COZ IM ALSO A STUDENT IN A CLASSICAL GUITAR COURSE AT YAMAHA MUSIC MALAYSIA 20YEARS AGO...!!!THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT SKILLS!❤️❤️❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎸🎸🎸
"Romance Anónimo" (Anonymous Romance) Its origins and authorship are currently in question. It is suspected of originally being a solo instrumental guitar work, from the 19th century. It has variously been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo,[1] Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gómez and Narciso Yepes. The Anónimo (anonymous) part of its name has been incorporated over the years due to this uncertainty.
The sister of my exboyfriend in high school used to play this.I did not know the title until i came across in one of the channel that i subscribed in youtube.this version was put on my face by premium youtube.ROMANDE DE AMOUR.THANK YOU .
It's not easy to begin with the guitar, but you practice everyday you will get it! And after some months you will not become exhausted anymore. Now I can play the guitar for more than 2 hours with no problem but I remember in the beginning (6 years ago) it was difficult to play long time without having to stop to give some rest to my fingers.
I agree, absolutely a masterpiece. I first heard this song in Spain called Romanza Anónima, the anónima referring to its anonymous origins. Check out the wikipedia entry for it. There are apparently cylinder recordings of it that date back to before 1901. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_(guitar_piece)
that's right. the cylinder was made in the late 19th century and the sheet of music dates from the beginning of the 19th century. they both attribute the song to fernando sor who wrote it in the 18th century
Amazing! Well done! Played flawlessly! Where did you get the tab from? I've learnt the first half and can't find the second half that's accurate. I just wanted to know where you got it from!'
Are you sure about that? (composer?). I've never heard that name and nothing came up in Google search. The piece is usually called "Romanza" or "Spanish Romance" and always listed as "anonymous" composer.
i see always kids start learning guitar and im 28 y old i feel like its too late to start play guitar and anyway i start that from 6 months ago so really do i might continue or really its too late.i need to know wat ppl think bout that thank you evry1

this comment is beyond sweet, heart warming in fact. Bless your soul and your father's RIP
My father has just passed away and he too used to play it. I couldn't find it either but my beautiful husband managed to find it for me.
Mine as well. I just walked past a busker in underground playing it- asked him the name. Been years looking for it.
He'd play a version by "los fronterizos, guitarra trasnochada", I think based on this one, but with lyrics ... had never found the original.
May Rest in Peace to your Fathers...
I just had the exact same thought , felt like he was behind me playing . Peace and love x
Whoever created this song, thank you. You created a masterpiece

This is much better than the non-anonymous videos. Sometimes people want to show off and end up ruining it by making the background part too loud.
A friend's daughter played this today at a local tavern and it impressed me so much. Being a finger style classical player as often as I can be I recognized something that withstood the test of time.

Belle interprétation de la musique de "Jeux Interdits"🎉❤
This is a beautiful piece of Music. I first heard it years ago, and this is the first time I've found it to listen to. So, a big thanks from me.
Having learnt classical for many years and knowing the piece well, I concur with many others that this is definitely the best version of this song on here. Beautifully played, great technique.
Beautifully played with respect to timing and silence that made it an authentic and wonderful piece. Thank you!
best version on you tube and its because it is played with such emotion which is what counts
Absolutely wonderful is this. It changes tempo and thus has much more feeling than ANY other version of this much loved piece.
Of course it was played beautifully. There were no rattling strings, but the dynamics were different. There you should hear bass. but the main thing I liked. Thank you for the performance!
I'm from Russia!
Wow , so relaxing and sounds romantic too. I love listening to music like this. Superb.
Absolutely beautiful performance! Thank you!!!
A sua versão foi extremamente triste melancólica , nunca senti tanta nostalgia, confesso que chorei 😭😭😭, Dez vezes chorei 😭😭💔💔
Lindíssima interpretação de Romance d'amour por Anonymous !
I love the proper use of rest strokes to bring out the melody. Nice.
+Nick Mclay Rest strokes?
+Frans “Fr0glol” Alexandersson Opposite of free strokes, instead of just playing the string, your finger sort of rests on the next string right after without making that string ring. Sorry if that's confusing, don't know how to explain it.
Best version on UA-cam. Your timing is perfect.

Lovely ! Thank you .
this a good first classic guitar song to learn? Working on my fingerpicking, and want something to work on that will also build skills.
Yes, I'd definitely recommend the first part. Second part gets a bit more advanced with the chords. :)
Se parece mucho a la canción de Le Ore Rosa Di Mazenderan de Atarxia. Ambas muy hermosas.

Luar biasa 👏
Beautiful.

Hi Miguel, this is really beautiful. Can we play some of your cover songs inside our trains in Jakarta to relax passengers on board?
Amo!
Amazing! Well done! Played flawlessly! Where did you get the tab from? I've learnt the first half and can't find the second half that's accurate. I just wanted to know where you got it from!'
+Hannah Robinson try googling Classtab :)
Rob Clifford Wow! Thanks!
The song's name is «Romance de Amor» (“Love's Romance”?) and the legitimate author is Antonio Rovira.
Are you sure about that? (composer?). I've never heard that name and nothing came up in Google search. The piece is usually called "Romanza" or "Spanish Romance" and always listed as "anonymous" composer.
Antonio Rovira played this music, but the piece is VERY old. I heard it played in Spain in 1959, and Antonio Rovira was a twenty-something in 2012!
