I think Shirley Bassey is the best singer in the world. Besides having a spectacular voice, she is a perkiness that spreads eveyone, is very charismatic and, perhaps most importantly: she sings entirely with your Soul, is all heart, and so you get even more public. That only would already be a great artist, but fortunately for she also has all the other attributes, so for me is a Living Legend.

Shirley Bassey is a performer par excellence, possibly the greatest female entertainer of all time...and that is an understatement.
This has got to go down as one of the best concerts in her career...just look at the standing ovation...simply amazing!

Cette artiste est un don du ciel. Voix exceptionnelle , présence unique , charme, authenticité et sincérité. Elle appartient à cette catégorie d'artistes hors du commun. Ce don unique qu'avaient les Callas, Jessye Norman, Garland....Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin.... C'est cela la définition du talent qui place un artiste largement au dessus des autres. Bref, Bassey appartient à ce club restreint des talents hors norme.

I love Shirley, but the orchestral arrangement for this performance of Goldfinger is terrible. It’s missing all the musical nuances of the original version, while adding bad instrumentation. On the orchestra side of the performance, its the worst performance of Goldfinger I’ve ever heard.
