How did my outside orchids do during the cold snap Florida had?

    😊👍 I have a few phalonopsis attached to a tree and they did fine. The rest are in a tent or greenhouse.

    You Really got Lucky ! Here in Memphis we just had power restored (from an Ice Storm) after 5 DAYS w/o in 17f - 22f lows.

    What kind of renanthera is the one you were asking about? Amazing how your orchids coped with your cold snap! Especially those complex hybrid phals! I get you when it comes to the cold... its all relative 👍🏼

    Wow, you have such nice orchids. And they did ok considering the weather. My guess is that the purple on those vanda type orchids is a reaction to cooler temperatures and maybe a magnesium deficiency. Also, I did experience the same thing with just some orchids which love lower light than I was providing, and was like a mechanism to protect themselves. After I moved them to less sunlight, the leaves turned back green, slowly.

    The purple/ red color to cold is a magnesium deficiency.
