Fyi, I think vanilla plant is considered a terrestrial orchid so it might behoove you to put it in the ground and let it climb somewhere. I think that's what they like. Or maybe even in a pot with some very chunky soil and again, Allow it to climb wherever it wants to go.

So Many growers have attempted to grow Vanilla only to find out the 'cuttings' won't bloom until they reach 6-8' > Might be best to attach it to your pool cage frame & ignore it.

Jealous of the Blooming 'bag babies' We don't get them here in Memphis ;( (IF) I could stay out of the hospital long enough I'd try to replace so Many Orchids lost while away for several months at a time. (No one to water while away). currently down to 12 Orchids after loosing 80+

Very nice thanks for sharing . My vandas are blooming at least 3 times for the year except for one which is a sequential bloomers. I having lots of empty sheets from my cattleya which is so sad .

Much like you I lost a lot of Orchids this year 70 to be exact including ALL but 1 Vanda. Left with a total of 12 Orchids now. Mine Died while I was hospitalized / no one watered for almost 6 months.
