ploenpit might seem like it's not easy to promounce as it isn't an english word. It's pronounced more in a dutch way but there is actually an english word that is phoenetically the same. Blow. Or blown away. Then you just replace the B with a P and it becomes Plown. It might look similar to clown now but that would be prouncing it wrong again 😄 So yeah not the most intuitive name. I have a vanda ploenpit myself. Good to hear you upping your fertilizing game. I just mentioned to Nelson from NatureNel that the advice he got from one of his vendors in the last video he posted was great advice on fertilzing that every orchid grower should be following.

Here in zone 9b/10a beachside in central Florida, they grow like weeds outside 365. And they get big and bloom profusely. I have them in full sun.

Fyi, I think vanilla plant is considered a terrestrial orchid so it might behoove you to put it in the ground and let it climb somewhere. I think that's what they like. Or maybe even in a pot with some very chunky soil and again, Allow it to climb wherever it wants to go.

So Many growers have attempted to grow Vanilla only to find out the 'cuttings' won't bloom until they reach 6-8' > Might be best to attach it to your pool cage frame & ignore it.
