After clearing legendary a few times, I have learned a few things that made it easier.
The first is that the slow field is basically the best upgrade because it is super cheap and makes any explosive bot rounds much easier. Turrets are good early on but lose effectiveness in later rounds.
The second thing is that elite grenade bots are the most dangerous enemies. They can even one shot tanks if you stand right next to them so keep your distance. Snipers can also be an issue if you are not a tank so try to focus them.
For team comps mauga is a clear choice because of the high dps and self-sustain. DPS choice matters the least but can be something like sojourn or torb. Pretty much anything with good range and little downtime. Zen is the best support because you don’t need much healing and he has very high damage. His ult is also the best tool for collecting emblems at the end of the round when you need to move quickly.
This also uses the PvE patch from Invasions(I said Archives, I miss it ;^;), so some heroes have extra perks like Lucio granting his teammates and himself a firerate boost. Zen is likely a better general option, but you could coordinate a Lucio comp to great effect
Yeah, mauga, torb, zen is S tier. But anything that can crit and has either range or mobility to get close works, its pretty easy.
My experience was a little different. I agree with the upgrades and what not but hero choice. There are 2 comp strats cc or high damage. I found ball to be the best except for sombra round because if played right I took a NON noticeable amount of tower damage on all towers on max difficulty. You can boop and slam and 1 clip ( with adjusted clip size) and the bots can never get to the tower. Mei is good because of freeze and wall. She doesn't do alot of damage but she denies the bots. And has no falloff so can poke also. Widow, cassidy, ash are by far the worst. She's not as good as ball though. On the hard round with 30+ bots at a time the adaptive shields are insane. Ball is hands down the best tank. But for a solider mauga comp high damage will work too. The only think is that some round when alot of bots spawn it can get over whelming and I found on max difficulty I barely skated by with 1 tower almost gone. With ball they never got to the tower. Lucio is good because of boop and mobility. Bap is also because he can anchor a tower by himself. Everytime someone locked zen we got smokes because he has no mobility and the bots will hunt you down. Also his ult let him just exist he can't actually defend the tower. Just my long take.

This was actually pretty fun, playing with A.I teammates sucks though lol. It’s way more fun at higher difficulties. Hero Mastery in general is very underutilized in my opinion.
It was way better than I thought. It's funny hearing people complain about what is essentially a practice range extension 😂 . Its a great warmup or a way to practice new heroes.

Maybe if they released more hero masteries I’d actually feel inclined to do it. It kinda sucks how slow they are to add heroes to it. IMO I don’t think it should take too long or be that hard to do but then again I know nothing of game designing
@@djwolfdragon3771 They probably have some prepared already for future updates. So it might be a good mode to play just from time to time. And getting all coins and all 5-stars rating can take a bit of practice and planning, so you can get more content or playtime from the mode than I expected.
We're weirdly only a couple steps away from just making a Moba mode for overwatch. Just give each team a tower, and you have to escort your bots across or something.

I've been stuck with VS AI as my only pve content for YEARS. This was really nice to get and actually kinda challenging. I actually really like the Gauntlet. Maybe even enough to finish that 5000 round challenge, lmao.

Honestly, this mode wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, playing with AI is horrendous. You need to play with other people, otherwise you won’t be able to do anything beyond normal difficulty.
I tried 2 games with AI teammates on normal. One gave me a Brig who stayed at the tower, never going out to meet the bots, while the other gave me a Rein that did the same. Both games sent out an enemy Torb who just spammed turrets, by the time I destroyed one he had placed 3 more....
This better get updates and not just left in the dust immediately

Wrecking Ball is so good in this mode. He can boop bots off the map, his gun is good on the large head hotboxes, he can get everywhere fast to collect emblems, move turrets, get ult packs, and coins.
Also no one mentioned this but you get more coins for critical kills so it's worth playing a hero that can crit.
This mode has a lot of potential. I had fun playing with friends!
Not really. Especially since all those that worked on it are fired.
Modes like this are funny because sometimes sacrificing all but one objective is a viable play lol

Ima be honest this was kinda disappointing, it’s not endless like I was hoping and it’s pretty repetitive after 1 play

This would be really fun to play with skill trees..
And every person who worked on it got fired. The only good things about this patch is they buffed Rein and the collab.

man if only they would give us lootboxes at the end as a reward sorta like mvm that would be cool.
my luck in tf2 was insane, managed to get 5 australiums total in very few matches.
Give it a cupple updates and I think they could have a realy good gamemode. Maybe a few more tower upgrades along the line of arua heal/damage/etc, possible for damageable walls you can place like the turrets (got torb turrets might as wel get mei wall or helll sym turrets for cheap alt for the normal turrets).
Lucio is great in this mode especially if it’s endgame and the towers are all low

I hope in the future they allow for other AI enemies to be used here cuz while training bots are fun especially with the new ones and kind of want to fight null sector or talon

I personally enjoyed this mode. I'm trying to figure out how to beat Legendary difficulty with so many things in check.
I grinded that mode to get the mercy victory pose lol. I played Orisa and never died. My other random teammates went zen and torb and usually held off a tower by themselves while I defended one alone!

This mode is very fun but WAY TOO HARD with bots! I do not have any friends and so i cant do these with friends sadly and I do not want to deal with people throwing the Gauntlet over and over again but.. bots are trash at this sadly. I wish to enjoy it but i sadly cant.. and apparently I am clearly not the only one as I look through the comments :(

They should make some actual location maps for this game mode.
Honestly it was pretty fun for what it is iv already beat all difficulties and the challenges give you a lot of XP for the battlepass it’s probably something I’ll do for warm up or something chill after games 🤷🏻
Don't forget to pick up and move your turret they can pull aggro and help protect q point when y'all have to spilt to protect different towers
if the layout of this could be adjusted, mixed and matched then we can have proper PVE.
id like to point out that the tower health is located on each letter A, B & C. thats how you know how much health each tower has
My main thought when playing this mode is that PvZ did this but better in all aspects over a decade ago. Really wish blizzard just copied that, woulda been fun
every player should be bastion imo for this game mode. allows them to go hardcore on the spawns.

Personally, I found this game mode to be boring. But I’ve only played a few matches so I’ll give it another shot.
Theres no way something like that will get me back to the game after i started playing helldivers 2

you quickly learn how useless some heroes are in this mode and that playing with AI is pretty much a solo experience.
but there are some characters that bring next to no value to this mode.
heroes that aren't good at handling more than one target suffers in this gamemode.
also torb can repair turrets. Torb is actually really useful in this mode, his turret are very helpful and the fact that he can repair turrets aswell makes him fairly good. That and he has good and fast dmg output close and long range.

The map looks so awful. Hopefully they boother making an actual map eventually for it, cause the blue, looking like a dev-log half made BS is beyond pathetic. I cant imagine another game getting away with this shit,
