Oppression thrives on ignorance! Anytime The Truth is spoken, those who exploit others through the instrument of Religion get offended. Peter Obi was taken out of context. The reason people are in church "always" is because they have no jobs. This is exactly what Peter Obi was addressing. He was not attacking The Church. He was addressing Poverty!!

@@simeonebi6262 I don't think people are "always" in church because they have no jobs. Some people are in church and vigils mainly because of their devotion to God and that's where the issue in PO using that as a case study arises.
He could have just used a neutral scenario to still make his solid point and none of us will be having this conversation

Attending church services does not mean being in the presence of God. Only baby Christians think this way. Church members should be taught to always have the awareness of God's presence wherever, anywhere they are.

Actually, the problem in the world is because of how politics has become. It has become a lucrative endeavour. The beginning of parliaments was a non income thing, your village sends you to represent them for a few days, you come back to continue farming.

Mama's diligence is also worthy of recognition. As the Church Head of Admin/HR, I have witnessed firsthand her dedication to her work. Her attention to detail is impressive, and her initiative is evident in everything she does. She takes pride in her work, often going above and beyond without being asked.

Yesterday, my uncle in Austria that doesn't go to church called me. I wasn't near the phone, when I saw my phone, there was a message "send me your account number"😮😮😮. This man called my mom and I before I could finish sending the number. He was checking on us and complained that on our family platform, it's only devotional everyday, we don't even call to ask if we are okay, if people have eaten 😂. He sent both of us money in our individual accounts, someone that doesn't believe in God oh. Meanwhile, some pastors have said church isn't a charity organization 🤦🏾‍♀️. So since it's not, wouldn't it be better if we leave church to hustle 🤷🏾‍♀️. Unless church is paying you, even the Bible advices to get something to pay your way through life. Peter Obi never attacked our faith, he's attacking the stupid "church" mentality and the people he was talking about answered. Or else, why was there so much discuss on this non issue last week on Twitter? Joshua Mike Bamiloye and Solomon Buchi didn't let me rest 😅

You are just being insincere. Go and listen to what he said very well. He generalised his statement saying church system should be dismantled in Nigeria. If he had said some churches devote all day and night to prayers and fasting, the discrimination would be clear. But he said church system in Nigeria. That includes anything and everything that has to do with church. If it was someone else that said that you people would be unanimous in condemning him. But bcos it is Peter Obi, you are finding excuse to defend him. How many churches hold prayer meeting and fasting all days and nights as he said which justifies his statement that church system in Nigeria should be dismantled? Tell us how many churches hold night vigils everyday and how many workers on night duties leave their works to attend night vigils. Or is it the same person that has done his duty during the day and goes to night vigil once in a week or months that is causing low productivity? When he went about gallivanting from one church to the other and attending even Christian musical concerts during election campaigns he didn't see them as contributing to low productivity! When he was declaring the election a religious war and saying "Christians, take back your country" he didn't know church system should be dismantled. Peter Obi is simply a hypocrite. He thought he could use the church to achieve his personal ambition. But since he failed he decided to come out in his true colour. Instead of calling a spade a spade, you are trying to twist the matter. God simply used his mouth to expose him for who he is. I hardly go to church, but his statement that the church is responsible for low productivity is pure balderdash. If it was Tinubu or Atiku or Sowore or some other person who said it, people like you would call for their heads. You would call them all sort of names. You wouldn't be trying to justify them.

It's not bad to give to your pastor in appreciation, but it's very bad and evil to see a poor person you are better than and refuse to offer the amount of help you can because you want to rise 🤦🏾‍♀️

Lovely video. As regards the giving to church members I don’t know why that doesn’t trend. Happens a lot at House on the Rock Lagos. Was in a service where an old woman left with over 7 million. All because Pastor Paul noticed her consistently coming to church and sitting at a particular place. Like she got over 7 million in that service. Someone from the church gave her a car. Another person said he’ll give a driver from his company. Someone else said he’ll give her a good house to stay in. These things don’t trend. Full grown man like me was shedding tears of joy for her.

Its obvious George is sympathetic towards Peter Obi. You were very critical about Iren's take on the issue, yet you gave Obi the benefit of the doubt. Who should gather people for a vigil for him to turn into factory or night shift? Build the factory, and see if people aren't willing to work. The reason some patronize night vigil is because they are trusting God for employment opportunities. The church dragging is too much. Peter Obi on a podcast should be discussing policies not what the church is doing right or wrong. I always restrain from commenting, but there you go my very first comment on this channel though i have followed for years

And George understands better because he is a Chinese man 😁.
George, we were driving from a city to another city in one of these western countries, and all you will see along the highway are factories. some are "mere" factories for fruit juice and and petty items. While we were driving, we were just getting angry reflecting back home, because all we saw back home were crusade grounds and camp grounds.
That aside, My church here has NEVER for one day fixed a vigil since I entered this country. As a matter of fact, we are believing God for a miracle for a sick fellow in the church and the pastor said we should fast for a week, I was surprised when he was telling people who came for prayers for that fellow, that if they don't know how to fast, he will explain to them.
I'm talking about American country (Just don't want to say which exactly), Not an Arabian country oo.
African, Nigerians need to understand that God is not for them alone.
When I look at the Ark project and compare with it the Apple (iPhone) park.. I wonder.... Do you know a Nigerian was part of the people who designed that Apple park?
The fact remains that YOU DO NOT NEED VIGIL. God does not have a special time to answer your prayer. Your night in Africa is people's afternoon in another country.

      @LoniGlitch 4 дні тому

@@abe_bros was it the church that built those factories you saw? Whose responsibility is it to build factories -the church? Well if it's easy to build factories and successfully run it, instead of criticizing why not build one. Most politicians are educated today because they went to schools built by missionaries. Jesus' assignment wasn't to build factories. It's within the governments responsibility to provide Jobs, church can create the network to leverage on getting employment by Christian private business owners, but to tag the "Church" as the major cause of a county's low productivity or lack of employment is far fetched. Are there not churches in America or other western countries people run to? Let's have a balanced discussion. If the church isn't providing/promoting sound doctrine or championing the "great commission" then we can have a different discussion. But blaming the church when you are to hold government you elected accountable is "witchcraft" 😂 and this is just facts over sentiments

The church is always an easy target and that is the actual issue. Inasmuch as PO was making a great point, his approach was not the best and it needed to be corrected

There are so many other activities that happen at night but why choose to address the one that happens in church as the cause of the productivity issues we have as a nation. That's my question

Why isn't Peter Obi talking about dismantling the Muslim's 5 times a day prayers? Isn't it ironic that the North which is predominantly Muslim is a stark contrast to the most productive states in the country (which are predominantly Christian)? Pst Iren's point was that churches organising vigils everyday is in itself a rarity so much so that "dismantling vigils" is non-topic. Obi cannot apply rarities in making sweeping assertions.
I just fail to see the necessity of these videos. You say pastors hop on these topics because it's "attractive" but it's literally what you do with these clips of pastors - it's attractive to you. You wouldn't have kept all of this going if you only managed less than 10 views per video till date.
Honestly George, at this point why don't you start and run your own church? Talk is cheap, why don't you show these pastors how it's done? We need pastors like you. You know better about pastoring and doctrine. I mean it's what you insinuate otherwise the premise for the repeated critiquing is non-existent.

Those that don't live or have ever traveled out.
Will definitely not understand what Peter Obi is trying to say.
We waste time alot in this country. I am not saying having Christian gatherings is bad but how much of that time is productive?
80% of that time is none productive.
Some of this churches disturbs people that are in their own homes.
I think that churches should have sound proof if they are situated in residential areas.

Dear George, I'm one of your fans. Please could you help us look into this matter or help find a way to pass this message to winners Chapel.
I have a concern regarding retirement policies in winners. If pastors are expected to retire upon reaching a certain age, it seems logical that the same principle should apply to other roles within the church. Including members of the choir, the crowd control unit (CCU),Usher, and technical unit. This would ensure consistency and demonstrate no partiality or hidden agenda in this decision. Any member in any of these unit who had attain 60 or above should be retired. If retirement policies are to be implemented. In fact these people should be considered First imagine a 60 year old man controlling crowd in the Church. These can never be applied to other unit of the church especially since some of the most influential and financial supportive members of the church are over 60. Retiring these individuals (millionaire) could have significant implications. These is raise not to criticised but to Foster a conversation about fairness and consistency in church policies

Mr George I totally understand the concept of creating highlights for your content and I try my best not take sides in this matter, but truth be told Mr Peter obi should not have mentioned the church in that context when you're rightly criticizing the bad govt in the land. The govt is the focus here when you talk about the bad economic state in our nation so you should not have mentioned the church in that context making it look like the church and it's programs is part of the reasons Nigeria is in this state. The church need to be vindicated. Why do people always try to scapegoat the church

George I respect your instincts. You have done a good job on this. Digging out the video where pastor Irene supported Peter Obi on the same issue is worth commendable.
Some of these pastors are not actually smart, they are quick to react to issues not taking their time to look at issues 😅😂from both sides of the coin. I think this pastor forgot that he made such a statement in 2023 in line with Peter Obi's view on turning vigil to night shift. Fast forward to 2024, he is criticizing obi😂😂😂 again.

My question is this, will his government seek to "dismantle" people's devotion?
Since he was particular about the church, will he dismantle the religious places of worship too?
Let these people in government provide the infrastructure and enabling environment for creating jobs.
Also, let us have a situation whereby people are PAID PER HOUR, then let's see how religious this country would be.

They sniff out the mistakes of the church as the deer hunts for water just to tarnish it's image. God sees them all and will reward us all according to our works.

On what Selman said, it's true...
If u only give to the poor, u will not rise
    It's a natural principle
Lemme explain, if u want favors from top people, do u achieve that by only giving to the poor? Of course, he who gives to prophets will receive the prophet's reward...
So, while it may seem surprising, it's something we all do unconsciously
