Our fleet has the M2’s with the DD8’s, amazing machines. I cannot overstate how much i enjoy these engines. Wicked loads of power, even the DD5 blows the ISB out of the water, the DD8 is way out of the ISB’s league.
Ryan Shearouse I’d like to see Detroit’s marine rated anything, non the less, on road, Detroit squeaks past the ISB in torque (50 lb/ft), but the ISB squeaks past Detroit in horsepower (350 over Cummins’ 400). I suppose I’d have to agree with you for marine, but due to Detroit not in the market, I concede the argument. Now I have to ask, why run your engines at the top end? Disclosure, I’m not much of a mariner. And if you’re in the marine market, I’d go straight to CAT.

Cummins owns the midrange market. Detroit has no chance. Let’s see a DD8 make 500 hp in the marine market like a QSB and hold up.
