moving from a Wide Glide to a Street Glide is the best move I’ve ever made! you look natural on that RG! I am short as well, at 5’ 8” if I wear Vans when I ride, lol it’s a challenge backing out of inclines, you just have to be careful when coming to stops, these big touring monsters will fold up on you if you grab too much brake with the bars turned.
I’m a short dude with a Road Glide ST! I’m 5’6 and ride a 22 RG ST and have dealt with this for a bit! You definitely got it! I’ll have to make a video on my channel for us short kings haha! Great video! Loved it!

Hi Heather, I am 5'6", 145 lbs, 68 years old, with a 29" inseam. I am on my 3rd bagger since 2001, a 2014 Street Glide Special. On all 3 bikes I put a 1" lowering kit on the rear. It makes it much easier for the slow speed and parking. I am flat footed with a bend in my knee when at a stop. It's not just a touring bike, I ride it every day in the city and it's fine. There a tons of used rushmore bikes both Street Glides and Road Glides. If you want to keep the FXLRS find a nice used one. I prefer the SGS because the fairing is a lot closer so I would at least ride a SGS before you decide. Best of luck to you.

Her Two Wheels just purchased a 2018 Harley Road Glide and she absolutely loves it. I haven't tested ride one yet, but I want to after watching yours and Her Two Wheels talk about how nice of a bike it is.
Go test ride the Road King Special that is the bike for you and learn how to love the heal shiftier. Love the channel
And, for an even better heel shifter experience, install the $39.95 shorty heel shifter peg from Thrashin Supply Co. I heel shift mine 90% of the time with the arch of my foot in instead of the heel of my boot. Then you don’t need to reach all the way forward to operate the toe shifter all of the time.

That's what I did. Test rode the RKS and fell in love, traded my '20 Low Rider S in on it.
@@RB-tx4mn Love the RKS as well. But the stock suspension has got to go! Do you have any aftermarket suspension upgrades on your RKS? One of my favorite rear shocks is RS-1 from Russ Wernimont Designs.

Love my Roadglide and being 5’6” I understand the height thing. You’re just going to have to think about things a little more. Like when you pull into someplace take a look and park in the easiest way to get out. Better to walk a little further than struggle backing out of someplace. I mean the real answer is two bikes but if you can only have one, Roadglide is definitely worth the extra little struggles

Floorboards kick ass, the stereo, and yes they are so much smoother than the regular bikes.

I had a 2013 ultra and was debating between a low rider s and a road glide. Ended up on the road glide and it’s awesome. That fairing gives you a bit of air with a real smooth ride. Better than batwing

“I don’t know if this is a putz around town bike for me” is why I sold mine. It’s a beautiful bike and the road trips I took on mine were more comfortable than I can really express. Glad you enjoyed it.

Love it. I have an FXLRS and yet I love a bagger. My first bike was a 97 Electraglide. Laid that one down because a lady pulled out in front of me. I want my bagger back.
Brought home my new Street Glide Special today. I’m only 5’2” tall and have a Legends Air Ride Suspension system on the bike. 2nd bike I’ve done it on and it makes the big bikes easy to ride!

@@MotoBlonde you lower it when you know you have to put your feet down and then you raise it up for the highway and it is very smooth. I love it!! You should check into it. They are great people at Legends.
Zippers Performance sells the Thundermax iRide adjustable air suspension. It has the automatic stoplight adjustment feature similar to the new suspension on the H-D Pan America.
The quickest and cheapest solution would be a set of RWD or Legends 12” rear shocks that would still give you a great ride with decent suspension travel.
A lot of UA-cam superstars seem to get vendor sponsors for their performance upgrades that prompt us civilians to buy our motorcycle parts after watching the UA-camr reviews.
@@briandickter2724 I looked into that suspension for my low rider, but they didn’t make it for softails. I’ll definitely check them out!

You should check out the sport guide it's an awesome bike and about the same as what you're writing only with bags and a Fairing that are all quick detach
I think a Heritage would be a better fit for your size. A little bit lighter that a Road Glide but still a bagger.
You could change shocks and lower one for ya and the highway pegs have extensions to help with reach 😎😎

Nice job on the RG. Try the Street Glide. They also make a lowing kit for Harley's you can lower from 1"or 2" inches. One inch would be as low as I would go so you still have some lean to it. New seat also.

I test drove both the road glide special and the street glide special this morning. I'm trading in my Low Rider S because I want a bagger. I was convinced that I was going to like the SG all the way, after riding the SG then the RG my mind changed immediately. I did not want to get off the road glide!! Now I'm wanting a RG. What an awesome bike!!!

Oh no!!!! You did same thing I did! Once I tried the RG that was it for me!! Traded my 2016 StreetGlide in for a 2021 RoadGlide Special! It was a beauty ride! Your exact words were mine!!
As for backing up we always think of our exit when parking and do what is easiest!!!
I don’t miss the weight of the batwing I really love the way the RG handles!

I have a 2021 Road Glide special. Got a low profile seat so I can plant my feet on the ground. I started with a sportster, then soft tail. Had a ninja. I tried a street glide, a heritage. I LOVE my road glide. I am spoiled now. When I ride the soft tail, I feel like it's a hoopty now. 🤣 The vibration, bumpy not as smooth.

I traded my low s I bought in January for the RG love it when you get used to it riding around town is great you will not want to waste your time on a small bike anymore lol the low s was great concept not so much if you want to lay down the miles. Just do it you are ready
I think you should get a Road Glide if you want one. I have a female friend that is 5ft 1inch tall and she rides a Road Glide Ultra. Go for it little lady! Be safe and take care!

Harley Reduced Reach Seat/Legend 12” Revo A’s in the rear / Legend Axeo Short in the front and you’ll be great on a Glide.

Look at the Sport Glide! You get the M8 engine and bags and it weighs 200 lbs less than the RG. I think that would be a great compromise for an around town/ distance bike.

I was planning on getting a 48 about 5 years ago and I was at a bike show here in Vegas and got to ride a 48, a slim and maybe a road king and totally couldn’t go back to the sporty lol. It spoils you.

If you like the Roadglide you should also ride the Indian Challenger and Chieftain both a very manageable for smaller riders.

If you like the roadglide you should give the Indian Challenger a try. I was looking at a road glide until I took the Indian for a spin. 100% a better bike in just every way. Now the road glide just feels silly.

I'll suggest to test ride the road king special. It's what I have great bike.
First, I’m very proud of you. Second, for 200 bucks you can leave everything the same but you put in shorter metal pieces to bring the brake and shifter closer to you with no other changes. I wanted to suggest a road glide to you when you complained your low rider still wasn’t quite scrunched in enough.

Thanks for being here!! So riding it was the easy part - it was SO well balanced I wasn't nervous at all riding it. The part I'll have to pay attention to is slow stuff. It really was so easy to ride! If you can go out with him like we did and switch somewhere where you can go at your own pace without traffic etc!
Buy an ultra Ltd wick quick release tour pac and you can go ultra to street glide in seconds.
Just get you a RG! You'll be happy you did! Once you go with a RG you won't go back!!! 😍
