Go test ride the Road King Special that is the bike for you and learn how to love the heal shiftier. Love the channel
And, for an even better heel shifter experience, install the $39.95 shorty heel shifter peg from Thrashin Supply Co. I heel shift mine 90% of the time with the arch of my foot in instead of the heel of my boot. Then you don’t need to reach all the way forward to operate the toe shifter all of the time.

That's what I did. Test rode the RKS and fell in love, traded my '20 Low Rider S in on it.
@@RB-tx4mn Love the RKS as well. But the stock suspension has got to go! Do you have any aftermarket suspension upgrades on your RKS? One of my favorite rear shocks is RS-1 from Russ Wernimont Designs.

I’m a short dude with a Road Glide ST! I’m 5’6 and ride a 22 RG ST and have dealt with this for a bit! You definitely got it! I’ll have to make a video on my channel for us short kings haha! Great video! Loved it!
moving from a Wide Glide to a Street Glide is the best move I’ve ever made! you look natural on that RG! I am short as well, at 5’ 8” if I wear Vans when I ride, lol it’s a challenge backing out of inclines, you just have to be careful when coming to stops, these big touring monsters will fold up on you if you grab too much brake with the bars turned.
I don’t care what you do, but whatever it is just keep laughing. You have the cutest giggle 😆😘😘

Her Two Wheels just purchased a 2018 Harley Road Glide and she absolutely loves it. I haven't tested ride one yet, but I want to after watching yours and Her Two Wheels talk about how nice of a bike it is.
Love my Roadglide and being 5’6” I understand the height thing. You’re just going to have to think about things a little more. Like when you pull into someplace take a look and park in the easiest way to get out. Better to walk a little further than struggle backing out of someplace. I mean the real answer is two bikes but if you can only have one, Roadglide is definitely worth the extra little struggles

Harley's have a lot of great bikes to ride but...... so do others Indian for example or Honda if you don't mind a bike built else where. LOL I have a 2014 Victory Vision ( the other American motorcycle that they don't make any more and a 2003 Harley Vrod that they don't make any more ) Lol ones for fun and the other is for cruising and what a difference between the two. What ever you ride have fun and stay safe out there.

Hi Heather, I am 5'6", 145 lbs, 68 years old, with a 29" inseam. I am on my 3rd bagger since 2001, a 2014 Street Glide Special. On all 3 bikes I put a 1" lowering kit on the rear. It makes it much easier for the slow speed and parking. I am flat footed with a bend in my knee when at a stop. It's not just a touring bike, I ride it every day in the city and it's fine. There a tons of used rushmore bikes both Street Glides and Road Glides. If you want to keep the FXLRS find a nice used one. I prefer the SGS because the fairing is a lot closer so I would at least ride a SGS before you decide. Best of luck to you.

I think a Heritage would be a better fit for your size. A little bit lighter that a Road Glide but still a bagger.

If you like the roadglide you should give the Indian Challenger a try. I was looking at a road glide until I took the Indian for a spin. 100% a better bike in just every way. Now the road glide just feels silly.
They are comfy bikes. If you get one get a reach seat.

You're screwed. LoL. I had a 2020 Low Rider S, barracuda silver, for 51 weeks. lol I test rode a Road King Special and was like uh, this blows my LRS out of the water. So, I traded the LRS in on a '21 RKS. That was July 3rd. I now have 5k miles on the RKS after going to South Dakota and back from Indiana. I loved the LRS but there's just no comparison to a touring bike.

Maybe if you wear platform boots, you might be able to back the road glide up. LOL!! I saw a video earlier of a guy who had to jump off his bike to hold it up at a traffic light because he was too short to remain seated and do it. LOL!!

@@MotoBlonde it’s always smart to test everything before deciding on one. In January I was dead set on buying another streetglide but at the suggestion of several friends, I first test rode the Roadglide. I didn’t want to like it but I had to be honest and say that after I did, I felt that it was a better handling bike due to the fixed fairing. The rest is history….lol

If you aren't brand loyal, go try an Indian Chieftain. The weight was so low I almost stood it up too fast. Felt like nothing. And low seat height.

Flip up the floorboard with your foot. Then you can reach the kick stand easier

You could change shocks and lower one for ya and the highway pegs have extensions to help with reach 😎😎

Love it. I have an FXLRS and yet I love a bagger. My first bike was a 97 Electraglide. Laid that one down because a lady pulled out in front of me. I want my bagger back.

Oh for sure! It looked pretty flat, but with the gravel and my stumpy legs it made it a little harder than it seemed haha!
If you like the Roadglide you should also ride the Indian Challenger and Chieftain both a very manageable for smaller riders.
First bagger I rode was Yamaha's version the Star Eluder. I was nervous at first, but ended up loving it. I want a RGS. One more thing. Buy the damn motorcycle.
If I lived in the US I would test ride one. In my country, the Netherlands where parking space is hard to find and with traffic lights every mile, and me being only 5 ft (I can’t even lift the kickstand of my husband’s Fatboy) it is not wise to ride such a big heavy bike. Damned I was born in the wrong country!
It all depends on your type of riding. The desire to roll a bagger diminishes quickly in curvy roads and adventurous riding at speed with tight Twisties. Everyone should try it if you can afford it and make a decision. Personally they are not for me.
Motor Trike Gear Drive reverse the backing up problem is solved.
You should check out the sport guide it's an awesome bike and about the same as what you're writing only with bags and a Fairing that are all quick detach
I'll suggest to test ride the road king special. It's what I have great bike.

Buy an ultra Ltd wick quick release tour pac and you can go ultra to street glide in seconds.
Go out and ride ones that look good to you. You only live once. Get what makes you happy. Stay classy and keep the rubber side down

Heather, your Lowrider is a hot rod compared to the RG. My RK is kinda too big for around town and I would like to ge around town with.
