- This is a footage of the ride up on the Eiffel Tower's elevator. It's consisted of two separate elevators: the first one gets you either to first or second floor, on the first floor there's a restaurant. For those who want to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower, they need to switch to a second elevator that brings you to the top.
In my opinion, on the second floor there's much more to see and it's more seeable because there's no fencing and nothing blocks your view. On the top there's a crisscrossed fence which blocks your view, you can't take a picture or a shoot a video and it pretty much ruins the experience.
Thank God for youtube, man at least you can get a glimpse of what its like anyway.

I remember taking this exact elevator as a 10 year old kid and absolutely hating it. I had, and still have a fear of heights. All I can remember is laying on the floor and doing everything possible to not look outside lol. I think I would still be sick today if I took it.
Literally just went up it, it was amazing but I couldn’t have done it at 10 years old
The ground is the only thing that looks stable enough for me. This is my type of horror tho....
This video gives me anxiety. I’ll have to enjoy the Eiffel Tower from the ground. There’s no way I’m going up there.
From the top looking out, you really can tell that Washington DC really was inspired so much by the design of Paris. It's actually uncanny. When I saw a glimpse of it, my first thought was "That looks like Washington" haha
No it wasn't. Two different cities altogether. Washington DC was plagued by the same Nordic Allied racism that plagued every Nordic place and every other Nordic country. No way they loved clearly non-white France for anything.
Omg I went up on the 2nd floor on my school trip in the 1980s. I wasn't scared of heights then. I loved it. Thank you for this❤️

This is a modern elevator cab. Just imagine this experience with a turn of the century elevator cab. And to the top, no less... I'll bet history says a lot more people then walked it up.
Did you know that when hitler went to France they disconnected the elevators so if he wanted to go on the tower he would have to take the stairs??

I first took the elevator in 1972, again in 1974, again in 1975, again in 1984, again in 1986, not bragging, but I love Paris and the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Hope Yvonne remembers.
I really don't like heights. That buzzer at the end would have killed me! I did ride the London Eye. I just wanted to lie on the floor!
Walked up those stairs and taken the centre elevator to the top...brilliant view...a feat of engineering...at the top you can look over the edge and see the curvature of the legs...it does slightly sway at the top...

I don’t like elevators/lifts with windows. It just seems more terrifying. Wonder if any of these elevators have got stuck before and how they remove the people.

The view is beautiful up the Eiffel Tower first i take the stairs to the middle then take elevator to top it’s beautiful view but crowd lots of people and lineup two hours. It’s worth it

I went a couple weeks ago. France is the most gorgeous place ever and Paris is the most amazing city in the entire world. Like it still takes my breath away. I miss it already

I'd take the stairs instead of being in an elevator that seems unstable, crowded with too many people
I took the stairs once because the line for the elevator was too long. You do not want to take the stairs. Trust me.

You should listen to the noises those cables are producing. I stood in front of it and was willing to take a ride up to the top but after that ....... no.
@@anonymusum The cable sound on the 2nd-3rd floor elevator is totally normal. It's to prevent cables moving too much while it's windy. It's just a security ...

This is ironically one of the most underrated landmarks in Paris - everyone expects it to be soo overrated and then they are shocked it's not. (I also recommend taking elevator to the top, and go down by the stairs from the 2nd level, if you are masochistic you can do it in reverse order)

The Eiffel Tower elevators are 1890 Otis Roped Hydraulic (elevator to 2nd Floor) and Otis Traction (elevator to the top floor)
Wrong. Lifts to second floor are 1899 Fives Lille elevators.

I'm afraid of heights, and I got a little nervous looking out the windows and down on the city, but it wasn't too bad. For the most part, it's just like being on the top floor of a building. You only see down when you intentionally go to the edge and look down.

I'm going soon and I'm dreading it a little bit because I want to experience it as best as I can but I am INCREDIBLY TERRIFIED OF HEIGHTS AND rides or anything like that in general and I'm a huuuuuge chicken for basically everything I'm 14 so I think I would be able to brave an earlier floor but I want to really get a feel for it so I don't really know what to do! sorry about my bad grammar im getting a lil lazy pouring my fears out on youtube ;)

I went to Paris recently and rode up this. It was scary for me as well two British girls next to me who hugged each other for comfort, which I thought was cute, lol. Being at the top was super cool though.
