- As much as we love the editing community, we can all admit... it has its faults.
Although the sentiment behind the editing community is to support and encourage others, sometimes we come across people who do the exact opposite. From petty group chat gossip to shamelessly ripping off fellow editors, there's a lot that can be said about the toxicity that proliferates in the editing community and the editors that spark it.

tbh all of lauren's advice/stories are really applicable to any fandom at all and even real life. it's giving big sister energy and i love it. thank you so much lauren
i hate how much the editing community has changed, most people only edit certain people or they just edit to get thousands of followers and views, it’s supposed to be about having fun, not getting likes and followers 😭

@@superfelinethegreat Everyone can have expectations, if someone worked hard surely they want a lot of people to watch it and interact etc ugm?. Most of the time it just depends on the algorithm really but its okay to have such expecations ( as long as their not really high) but if you're going to make your talent and your mood depend on how much attention your edit gets, then that's what's not okay ( not trying to sound rude lol)

It's so hard to make friends on fan accounts, it seems like everyone just ends up leaving me on seen for no reason. Sometimes having an account can be lonely without friends

If I’m real I’m part of a fandom that is EXTREMELY SMALL but still has some bad apples in it and I can relate to this podcast so much as an editor trying to make friends in my community so I just wanted to say thank you for making this episode bc it really spoke to me not in like a emotional way but more of a relatable type of way 💕

omg but like when your up there, a bunch known editor in that community is friends with you but you only got in there because you got lucky, made friends with one popular person. the pressure to create these outstanding edits since all your friends are popular and literally amazing at the style is so draining though.

I think capcut editor’s experience alot of toxicity, or at least me ig. When someone hears ur cc editor they think of a template user or just a bad editor which isnt always the case. It can be really annoying especially when ur trying to make friends with ae editors.

The fact the editing community is supposed to be supporting to each other, yet i feel like it has been ruined by editing groups. the logo exclusivity is just... I used to like it but when people started using it as a sign of "superiority" it started feeling weird. Or that some editors with big following (not you lauren, others) are just bad persons in general or start having a really big ego because of their following (coming to the point were some of them even bully small accs!, this happened on the hispanic editing community recently).
also people completely stealing your edits or being extremely toxic because of some editing styles!! its not cool at all!!

Lauren is amazing
The story about the edit and people calling her insensitive is literally insane. If it was a scene like hannah baker‘s from 13rw I would have understood cause that was really graphic but like that scene from Riverdale is really short, nothing graphic at all and the main point of that scene isn’t even suicide itself. I feel like someone really wanted to start drama. There’s so much shit going on in that show and you wanna tell me people were upset cause it showed a little frame of someone jumping from a window?? Like what are you talking about that’s crazy.
