Holy crap that's huge
Panoptics in 3 years will be amazing
Panoptix and LiveScope change the game, especially for smallies
It reminds me of the first Nintendo all grainy and crappy , with a bit of time you’ll be seeing crayfish cruising the bottom
Not sure why anyone would give this a thumbs down. Awesome video, those were some beautiful smallies.
+Ed Metz Jr thanks Ed! I appreciate it!
Can u put that on a riser that would b rite there at your finger tips
Your reactions when you hook up are awesome- I’ve started watching your videos in the morning to get motivated for the day
Anybody who fishes for smallies up north appreciates this special bronzie content 👍🏻 Sweet video!
Heck yes! We are so lucky to live in an area with massive smallies
Are you using two split rings? I couldn’t keep fish pinned with blade baits last fall
Its Zach hey man - the key is the spinning rod and a light drag. I almost want the drag so loose that it almost slips on hookset. I use owner St-36 with #2 VMC Black split rings. You can also try using a reel-set where you let it start to load up before leaning into the fish
The Smallmouth Experience You are awesome man! In the fall the lakes near me get smallmouth to come in. Mixed bags make for a fun tournament. Thank you
Great catches
Thank you!!!
How many times did you retie
a bajillion...I broke off a few and retied after every other fish...and then a few more times too :-)
The Live scope is nuts man. It is an amazing tool.
+BassGeek it definitely is! It’s so effective at pinpointing fish and letting you see how they move and react to your bait
+BassGeek yeah man, it’s absolutely unreal. It is so detailed. I compare it to 2d vs DownVu
Gosh this is so cool😫
Right?! It’s some insane tech!
Super show. Really enjoyed watching you have so much fun!
Thanks Jim - I really appreciate you
blade bait life! great vid as usual man!
That blade life is where it's at in the fall! Thanks dude!
I'm so jealous! Nice set up.
Thank you so much man!
Mount a camera to view your livescope in action so we can see it too.
Absolutely! I figured out a way to record the graph so I can show you both, side-by-side! Thanks for watching Bob
@@brnowak_fishing just went and bought mine today. Hopefully make my own monster videos :-).
Love the excitement! Good work Ben!
Thanks man!!!
Definitely giving the spoons a try, thanks for the video!
+Blue Collar Fishing thanks! Hopefully you crush some giant fish!!!
Absolute hammer down day on the water, Ben. That last one, legit 6.
Thank you man! Yeah, that last one was an absolute mondo giant
This vid needs more love! Good job out there!
Beyond The Bounds thank you man

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you Matt!!!
That was a Giant smallmouth! It looked like a 6 pounder. Nice work!
Thanks Thomas! I was so shocked at how big she was when I got her in the boat!
Great job! Go Team Lew's!
John Maniaci thanks Mini! I appreciate you watching the vids!
@@brnowak_fishing I watch a bunch of them!
Great looking fish man. Good work
Thanks man!
Great work as always man, you've really put some time in to find those monsters.
Ben Vasquez thanks Ben! I really try man. I appreciate all the support
Dude, the passion you have for these Michigan smallies is infectious. How’s the reading on the livescope when you bounce in waves? I’m using 2d, and on St Clair it’s hard to get good readings because of the waves. I feel like I wouldn’t be able to take my eyes off the graph if I were running one.
wdaniels87 it actually stays pretty steady in waves - I don’t have a ton of experience with it, but because of how the transducer is mounted, you don’t get bottom bounce too bad - it stays clear. The shots in this video were in some rolling waves but I’ll let you know as I play with it more.
Thanks always for the support buddy!
Awesome video, Ben!
Thanks so much!
Which garmin unit are you using for the live scope?
Retrou Vailles hey - I’m currently using the GPSMAP 1242 xsv unit
The Smallmouth Experience awesome thanks.
Bro that was awesome!!! 🙌🙌👊🏻👊🏻💯🔥
AJP Fishing thank you so much man! I appreciate you!
So awesome!
Cory Vargson Thanks Cory!
@@brnowak_fishing anytime man, content is so fire! Ever feel like putting a couple of NY tourney guys on some giants let us know!
Cory Vargson thanks! I’m glad you enjoy it! If you guys ever make it to Michigan, I’ll do my best to point you in the right directions!
@@brnowak_fishing you're the man! Thanks Ben!
Amazing it's every Fishermans dream come true catching so many Giants. Congrats I'm subscribed now
Austin Torres thanks so much Austin! I appreciate that man. Catching that 6 was an unreal moment
Benjamin Nowak I have gotten super excited for such small bass but I can't wait till I catch these bigger fish. Keep fishing everyone!
Hopefully you catch an absolute giant fish soon!!!
so cool man
Thank you man! I appreciate you
@@brnowak_fishing let's go ice fishing this winter. I just got a bunch of new ice fishing gear and wanna get up north and catch some walleye for dinner soon.
What fishing line are you running looks like a rose color, love your videos
+scott chapman thanks Scott! It’s PowerPro vermillion red in 15lb test
Great video. Can you do a video where you cover the unit, the mounting of the ducer and the black box, etc. go through the setup of the livescope on your boat?
Dan Holland yeah, this is something I can do for sure. I think it’d provide some interesting insight into how I set mine up and mounting advice
Thats tournament winning fish day
The smallie master has blessed us with another tanker video! haha good stuff Ben
Haha thank you man
I ordered some of your blade baits a couple weeks ago! Hope they work for me half this good!
Thank you! They shipped last night! I hope you catch some giants on them
Benjamin Nowak you and me both brother...I’ve not fished much in the winter cuz I’m usually hunting so I’m gonna give it a whirl
Oh, how I've missed your videos man.
Thanks Kendall! They're coming out on a regular basis now!!!
Man this are some pretty smallies I need to build a garage so I can go out later in the year and not worry about my boat so much lol
JC Dropshot haha thank you man! Yeah, my garage saves me - I can get out later in the year and go chase the mega smallies without having to worry about my boat!
Awesome
Thank you so much!
Oh..... my word !!
Hahaha I should’ve started a count 😂
@thesmallmouthexperience what kind of rod are you using in this video? I am liking the look of it! Thank you ahead of time
Hey Marly - I was using the Ark Tharp Series 7'M Meterman Rod (the silver rod) and a 7'2" Team Lew's Custom Speed Stick (Tube Model)
Man watching you catch them got me fired up haha! Awesome!!
Oh my gosh! Oh my word! Oh my word! Oh my gosh!! Fired up!!
Those Smallmouth are so dang beautiful up there. Wish ours is East TN had markings like those! Don't get me wrong, we do have some gorgeous dark ones but those are amazing!!! Congrats buddy! You deserve that 6!
Thank you! Yeah, our smallies are totally different than yours down there - totally different colors, but different body shapes too
"Oh my word!" what a cool vid. Had to watch for a second time to take some notes on the bait and gear. Fill me in on the very first shot of the Mackies truck and the comment that "that's how you know you're on the Mega bag."
Jim Warden shhhhhhh don’t draw attention to that
Jim Warden Hahah Thank you man! I was just foreshadowing, saying that since the bait truck was there, there were probably a lot of giant fish in that area too :-)
Fire!!!!
Thanks Clark!
Nice 6
Incredible
Thank you a ton!!!
Dude awesome video! However I am curious how your able to see with panoptix while on the ultrex is in spot lock? Congrats on those giant smallies
Thank you! The way I do it is, I take the trolling motor off of spotlock to lineup myself with the piece of cover or structure, then make the cast, then spot lock again. It’s a bit of a pain in the butt, but I always try to position myself directly downwind of my spot, so then the spot lock naturally wants to point at the spot if possible. I know some guys run another arm that they put Panoptix on
Do you know the Mackie’s?
JC Dropshot no sir, I just saw the bait truck and figured that if the bait truck was there, the big smallies probably were too
Benjamin Nowak they are great people from down here that supply some of the best shiners to the bait shops down here.
Awesome late season fishing. What graph are you using? I'm a lorance guy but they don't have anything comparable so I don't need maps or 2. D just one that will work with livescope that won't break the bank haha.
CHAD MCDONALD Hey Chad - Right now places are running incredible deals on the Echomap Plus 93sv or you can get the Echomap Plus 72cvand the LiveScope and be set up!
When you pulled up that second fish 😧
Ladybass wait til the last fish!😊
Benjamin Nowak very pretty fish👊🏼
Ladybass thank youuu!
Saw your feedback on finding spots to fish smallmouth on Lake Michigan near Milwaukee,Wisconsin. Structure in the lake is pretty sparse around here. Lots of nice big boulder breakwaters around though. I know we have smallmouth around but no one that I know of fishes them so there’s not a lot information available. North of me in Greenbay,Sturgeon Bay, and Door County there’s lots of quality bass and South of me in downtown Chicago there are also lots of decent smallmouth as well. I would like to know where mine here are hiding.
That's how it is out here. There are tons of smallmouth, but everything is walleye dominated. It's been cool learning some of this water and catching big bass when not a lot of people are doing it! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up and I'll help any way that I can
You got the transducer on your trolling motor
Yes, about 2 ft up on the shaft of the trolling motor
Getting live scope Friday just not sure if it will mount on my terrova
Michael Rogers yeah, I’m not sure how you’d do that...it’ll mount to the head of the trolling motor, but I don’t know how you’d run wires on the terrova
@@michaelrogers404 so how'd you do it? Im getting one for my step dad next week and we have the same motor. Looks like they have another pole that attaches to the trolling motor shaft. Is that what you used? If so how's it working?
I got my transducer pole at fishing specialtys
great job with the video! was the upgrade worth it going to live scope? what is your first impressions of it. I just purchased the live scope and have not used it yet.
Hi Dominic - Thanks for watching! Yeah, so far I'd say it's totally worth it. It's far more detailed, a similar comparison would be 2d vs DownVu. There is true target separation between fish and whatever they're in/on like Rocks or grass lines, etc. In some of the clips in the video, you can briefly see the fish sitting on top of or next to the boulders which I think is really really valuable. I've still got to dial it in a bit, but it's crazy detailed.
When dialing it in, my biggest piece of advice is set it to Auto Medium for the gain, then dial it in from there, up or down depending on the water/depth you're fishing. You'll have to change the setting everytime you go out, but this is how I've found I'm able to get the very best picture because the gain will need to change depending on the depth you're in.
I hope that helps a bit
-Benjamin
What unit do you have above your foot pedal?
Hey Ben, what model garmin graph are you using with the livescope? Looks awesome! Also nice fish!!!
Hey Jordan - it’s the Garmin 1242xsv. I like that unit because it has buttons and a keypad which is nice in colder weather when I’m wearing gloves
Sounds good Ben! Hey do you like the speed (refresh rate) that the livescope images produce on the 1242XSV? Just wondering if it’s as fast as the newer 8600 series? Also in the sunlight is there any glare in that screen?
Jordan P I have no issues with the refresh rate, but I’ve never used the 8600 series. I know they have a little faster computer, but I haven’t noticed any real display issues with mine
So you mentioned that you were fishing the Great Lakes. Can you be a little more specific? I am not asking for specific spots, just a general feel for where your at. I live in Milwaukee,Wisconsin on Lake Michigan and am wondering if this is doable here in my backyard.
Great question. Where I’m at, there’s a lot of shallow water with sandy bottom, but it drops off to 20-30 fow about 2 miles from shore. This is where there are some rock reefs and sand transitions. Finding those transitions were key to getting them to bite and typically when you found that, you could get them to bite
Great pix some good looking smallies. Love to come up there and catch some. They look so healthy. What is your pb
I love big smallies! My biggest is 6lb 9oz!
Suscribed to your channel really like the content if you dont mind me asking what garmin unit do you use with ur livescope
Thanks! It’s a Garmin 1242xsv
Who uses white zip ties over black cables... Fail.
CDandR truth...I didn’t have any more heavy duty black zip ties. It’s on my list of things to get fixed for spring :-)
After that 2nd fish, I thought you might need CPR, lol!
John Squillace Bring the defibrillator😂
That was a tank at the end.
Thanks! My biggest smallie of the year so far!
I finally broke 5 this year up in NH in October. Threw a whopper plopper out in 60 ft of water just to show my buddy how I fish the lure and cranked the handle 1 time she hit it like jaws. Jumped the net twice I almost pooped myself. I was shaking too lol
Spartanmani haha that’s such an epic story! Isn’t it crazy how these big fish will get? Super territorial and almost random - they’re the lonely roamers! That’s such a cool story man!
What lake are you fishing
skate metal I’m on Lake Huron
What lake you on
I’m on Lake Huron
When did you get the Live Scope?
I got it early November - about the 3rd of November
Cool.
Smallmouth jesus
The chosen one 😂
way too much water views and literally one of the unit.. not cool
Woof

Your thumbnail caught my eye in my recommended videos.....your last name made me click :) We share a common last name...Polish/Czech/Austrian region. Ever done any research on the family name? I figured maybe you were from PA considering most of us are in that area. My family's in VA. Nice videos, I enjoyed browsing your content!
Well thank you for watching! I don't know if I have any family down in that area, but there are a lot of Nowaks up here. A huge Polish community up here in Mid-Michigan! Thanks for the support!
@@brnowak_fishing No problem! My actual name is "Novak" but it's all the same origin, the "W" is more from the polish region and the "V"s usually found more toward the Czech area. It translateds to "new" and would be the American equivalent of "Newman"
Just go electro-fishing with a net. This takes the fun and skill out of fishing
I was gonna ask why you didn’t ask me to go...then I remembered I was in Kansas killing a giant!
Pioneer Outdoors haha yeah! You were out west filming giant bucks dropping!
Benjamin Nowak oh for sure, good video buddy I like it, piggy piggy
Live scope is the real deal!
Bryan Neace it really is! It’s insane!
Fish were great video great but why do you take so damn long to put your fish back in the water if you're not going to keep it.
PS. Don’t want to sound like your Mom....but, that’s a big pond and next time take a buddy, more fun and more importantly some help in case you get bounced out of a bouncing boat. Also don’t recall but is your life jacket on? This is where you say “Thanks Mom”
I know you were worried about me taking it as criticism, but you’re 10000% correct. It’s not safe to fish anywhere alone, let alone a Great Lake - one rogue wave and you could end up severely hurt or worse.
One thing I’m a huge proponent of is always wearing a life jacket. I have an auto inflate Onyx a24 jacket on all the time. Thank you for caring and taking the time to leave a thoughtful comment
Not Sure What Wrong With Folk, But It Should Also Be Against The Law To Dis This Great Vid😡❗️
if you ever need a partner, let me know! lol
You and your fancy fish computers...
A fish computer for the ages! Video games for fishermen
Sometimes, man, I wonder if the people posting these vids ACTUALLY watch there own stuff afterwards?
Hmoob Va actually watch my vids again or watch the comments? I’m super selfish in the fact that while this is here so other people can watch it, it’s basically my “free” video storage site
Hmoob Va so yeah, I go watch some of my videos over again
Should Be Against The Law Too Pass You Up WithOut Subing😡❗️
Haha thank you 🙌🏻
Get rid of your gay bass boat lol getting windy lol
