My grandpa was 90 years old and just passed away in November. He serviced B29s in Saipan during WWII, and was big on flying model airplanes. He was blind in his later years, but I told him all about this plane and he was fascinated!

by far the craziest model airplane I've ever seen was one of the few custom ones I've really looked over in person: they had built a large scale model of a Pregnant Guppy (could've been another one of the guppy line but I doubt it, you'll see why in a second) this looked quite impressive and silly at the same time and they did a great job of proudly making fun of themselves while flying around sedately for their bit of the show, then at the end of their flight time the announcer just started introducing the next group while they were still flying instead of while they came in for a landing, as soon as the introduction finished the guppy split at the cargo line with both halves parachuting down, as soon as the chutes had fully deployed a bunch of normal sized stunt models launched out of the falling cargo hold and scattered every whichway quickly forming up circling around the falling plane before breaking off just before the ground.
oddly enough this is one of those things that actually got MORE impressive as I got older rather than less. The magic and sheer gratuitous unrestrained whimsy of it took the forefront of my impressions as a kindergarten-age kid and I almost took the stunt planes for granted aside from the novelty of the launch, because after all they were much the same as the next several acts aside from that first bit. from my viewpoint now I know that engineering the cargo plane and getting the compact assisted-launch hangars working smoothly in rapid succession and even making the whole thing easily repairable and relatively cheap are all surprisingly easy to do (by far the most expensive part of it all were the motors, electronics, and the detailed decorations on the cargo plane), on the other hand I now have a good idea just how good a showman the quirky-looking old man flying the cargo plane really was and hold extreme respect for the dozen or so people piloting the stunt models who managed to orient and establish control in a split second and pull off the spiralling down routine with inches between the wingtips.
...it probably helped that (if I'm remembering the shapes right) they could have hit each other and not actually suffered much loss of control, wayyyy easier to practice something like that if it doesn't fail catastrophically every time someone messes up.

THIS is a Magical Piece of Flying Art and Engineering.
Yes, perhaps the "frog" that is speaking on stage does speak poorly - but it's a TALKING FROG !!!
Yes, some of the details are a bit off but EACH of the WING SECTIONS are individually controlled by SEPARATE RADIOS.
Oh, and a carved foam fuselage covered in wood with a fiberglass final layer topped off by that AWSOME paint job.
Definitely able to detect a few non stock areas. BUT the THOUSANDS of scaled parts and systems outweigh ANY anomalies no matter the size.
The bravery of this guy to have spent so much time, energy and yes even money working with others to construct this fine piece that performs so well, just to take it out to show people so that the details can be picked at... Bravery.
    Thank you for sharing...

In the movie, The Wild Blue Yonder (1951) with Forrest Tucker, there's a scene where (maybe) Forrest alludes to apologizing to Gen. Lemay for flying their B-29 like a fighter; much as it's flown in this excellent video.

@FusionTiger If you consider that from the tip of the antenna outward is an expanding cone of "dead" zone, turning it sideways, instead of up into the air will give you better transmission, especially if you're flying high over head like the B-29 often does.

@UtRadioGuy I would say the best way to contact them, is the "live chat" I've used this feature several times. Keep in mind, they will not (in my experience) offer a solution. You need to have a resolution in mind, and often they'll work with you. Don't expect a refund. Get a store credit instead, and you'll have that instantly.

I would love to see an air soft event where it is planes vs air soft players. Planes try to shoot air soft players with mounted air soft guns while air soft players try to shoot down the planes either by destroying them or hitting a shutdown button/switch on the plane.

@FusionTiger I do that too, some freinds told me that it creats a larger donut field or something so when the aircraft is 90+ degrees to one side of the radio the range is just as great as it is right in front of you. Sorry I don't quite remember fully what they said and I never had problems with it straight out but I leave to the side anyway.

@UtRadioGuy Hobby King is a very large distributor with many employees. We are a very small production crew struggling each week to deliver the highest quality content possible. Besides the obvious lines of communication, I'm at a loss for a recommendation for you. Did you try their forums? I know Anthony reads through them daily. I am sorry that we are not equipped with the time, or resources, to process customer service issues for Hobby King.
