I tried to make my own head once, but I had no foam and was dumb.
Never try cardboard with a wire frame, kids.
Never tried that I went straight to foam
The only mistake that I made was thati didnt have a mannequin head
So then I had foam in my eye and it was had to glue anything on
Never again lol
I made a fur suit head out of cardboard and it looks really good!

Creating your own fursuit is something you can enjoy with the knowledge its something you made, yet buying one is something you can have the knowledge have work hard for.

I didn't even save up.. Convinced my parents to buy me fur and foam, already had other things, and I got enough to commission a tail and paws for my birthday... Except you aren't a kid so it's harder... Still saving for a good sewing machine tho... Parents won't buy me that :p.... Oof

My suit was self made and she falls apart constantly, but it makes me so happy regardless! I'd love a commissioned suit someday when I'm more financially stable.
I actually like 1.0 more. I think it has more emotion in it which I very love
I have to agree. there is something about 1.0 that I really like. Personally it feels to me like 2.0 is more of a generic shape. Believe me I am NOT mocking the suit or the maker. It is merely my opinion. It's a good suit and Kudos to the makers. But I have to agree with the feeling of self fulfilment when making a suit. My first head I made back in 2012 and it fell apart repeatedly from the "abuse" I was putting it through and a friend of mine bought their head the same time. and guess who still has a good head. Not me. I am tyred of the heavy maintenance of my suit and finally decided to buy one. in the end. it is more a case of "I need something I can use more regularly without the fear of 'malfunction' "

Maybe I'm just a weirdo but knowing I'm saving up for a fursuit and the extra hour at work I do for it gives me more fulfillment because I'm not artist at all.

I can definitely concur with the alterability of self-made suits...I made my own suit and I'm definitely very often wanting to make tweaks and updates haha. I've replaced my hair floof, completely remade my handpaws, moved the zipper from the back to the front, added extra padding in the head (it's a 3D print base so without a bit of foam it can get uncomfortable and scratch my nose), and am planning to replace my eyes with a looser mesh and remake my feetpaws. I'm even thinking about turning one of my markings into a secret pocket to hold my phone and stuff while suiting, but we'll see haha.
That said, I also totally agree with the fulfillment bit though! It's really satisfying to be able to have and wear something you poured your own blood, sweat, and tears into. Fursuits are a work of art and it's super cool to have said art be your own! ^^

I’m making my own, making it out of a premade base and not making it a full. Only head, paws and tail. It’s turning out pretty OK!
I hope fluke 2.0 stays for a long time cuz it’s one of my favorite ones in terms of design 😊. Also fluke 1.0 I think looks more like a rabbit. Everyone support the furry community!

Tons of work can be a pro or a con depending on the person. Personally I loved every second I spent making my fursuit (head) and it was very satisfying when I finished.
Planning on starting a partial next year... A 3D printer will come in handy. (I don't like foam bases) but I hope my plushi making will help me with the padding later on ❤️

But how did you get it like that bro did you have to like commission a drawing get your new suit or did you just sure picture of your first suit I don't know how I would go about this I'm new to the world of fursuiters
I notice that if you make your own decent suit it's way less then if you commission a suit with the same quality if not worse quality.
My fursuit is self made and the second one i made last year and he's sooo comfortable! and you can find kyle on my first vid on my channel
Tbh if I had a full suit I would only wear it in cold weather and wear the head, paws and tail in warm weather so I don't die 😂
I don’t mind it being dear (expensive) as long as its built to last and most of all comfortable even if would take a bit gathering the funds.
He is definitely built to last. Very much worth the investment :)
Fluke hope to be just happy as planning to go with “what’s up hotdog” to build both me and my partner’s characters that have hearts and ace of spades motifs.
Getting the cheaper suit for me is just to get use to wearing one. I want to get one done but I'm trying to save up for at least the cheaper option

I like cheaper fursuits because it promotes new fursuit makers and alot of new makers tend to have very unique and expressive suits and you get somthing different almost every time. More so then alot of well established makers. Even Mulitcolor Bark, they have alot of expression but you can sometimes still get a bit of that "same face syndrome" occasionally.
