Martin Vasle: Jesenski dež (Duo Novak Gvozdanović)

Our renditition of the piece Jesenski dež (Autumn rain), dedicated to us (Guitar duo Novak Gvozdanović) and written by our dear friend, colleague and a brilliant young composer and instrumentalist, Martin Vasle.
Composer's note:
"The composition Jesenski dež (Autumn rain), was actually written during the summer (2020) and was mainly built from improvisation. I just found myself playing the first few notes of the composition again and again and found it very beautiful and melodic. When it came to the difficulty of both parts, I basically had no boundaries set, since I was composing the piece for two amazing guitarists. I hope they enjoyed practicing and playing it and I wish that I will have the honor of composing for such a musical and expressive pair of young musicians in the future again."
The guitar duo Novak Gvozdanović has been active since autumn 2019. They are the 2nd prize winners of the Slovenian national competition of music, TEMSIG, with a score of 99 points and a special diploma for the best performance of the set piece. They enjoy playing music of many different styles and eras, but especially enjoy playing pieces written by Slovenian composers. They have been guided by their mentor, prof. Jerko Novak, to whom they are incredibly thankful for all the support and work, from the start.
