Morning everyone! Have a blessed day!
Hailnsatan
You as well
Already got my coffee in hand. Thanks Greg for dropping another video sir! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Man, I always appreciate your storytelling - I'm trying to remember to incorporate more shots when I'm out shooting. Like many others, you help shape who I am as a fisherman but also within my own videos. Thanks GB.
Thank you sir, appreciate the kind words and thats really cool to hear
It's our weekly therapy with Greg B. fishing. Cool new rig.
Good morning to all our fishing freaks! There nothing better than a rainy day no work and some nice hot cup of coffee and of course a Greg the legend videos can’t ask for anything better than this!💪🙏💯
What’s up party people 🎉 who’s drinkin coffee??? Raise your hands if you’re with me! ✋ 🤚 Let’s raise the roof this Monday morning with fishing with Greg and a hot cuppa Joe! Now who’s with me!?!? Let’s get this party going people! Hooray! 🎉 Cheers! 🎣 🍺
Pulled some slabs out of Berryessa Sat . Sweet drive from Elk Grove ,CA listened to the Elovaters on shuffle and made it in no time. Also on top of flying a red flag off the back of my Kayak I strap a red bike light as well . Heading for fall striper Thursday. Always amazing videos Greg Blanchard
New kayak is amazing! Captain Greg at the helm of the Starship TitanX 10.5. Make it so!
Any day fishing is definitely better than a day at work!
especially when you put a few fish in the boat!
I think they should have made that boat with a higher bow Greg. I think your gonna have problems in high water or big waves just sayin. Or move both those batteries from the front to under the seat. I think you should have gone with the 12 ft model and got a trailer. Thanks for the video.
I agree.
It appears to be an accident waiting to happen.
Morning Stoners!
I don't know how many times I commented about a quick reference measurement indicator somewhere on the kayak. He finally has one! Love the new 'yak!
Thank you for taking us to Berryessa and giving my coffee break some respite from crocheting for cancer patients. If you haven't done so already, we found UA-cam tutorials helpful in syncing our Hummingbirds. It's so fun to watch all your new toys!
Once again, you make me feel vindicated for using the dropshot. I earned the "Deadstick" nickname in our club (but it's my cover for dozing on the water LOL)
Glad you officially broke in the Titan by putting fish in it! 👍🎣👍 You're right - you need a spot for the net! 😂
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎄🎄🎄
One thing u could do is get a 36v 60ah battery instead of 2 36v 30ah.
Dakota and Amped Outdoors both have that size but idk if it’s possible cuz of either sponsorships or battery compartment sizing.
Great way to start the week with Greg in the AM🙌
That opening rigging scene was epic!!
Go to menu and select the correct transducer for the helix, it should be under sonar. Also for helix units there is also a option where you can switch into custom mode instead of angler mode to have more features. If you’re also trying to network them together to have the mapping show up on both units it won’t work, for helix units they both need mapping cards.
So glad you got a Mega 360 - it fits your type of fishing. After awhile when you don't have it you are going to feel blind! It will be interesting when you are on a body of water you don't know really well (e.g., confirming why a spot is good) and you spot one you didn't know was there - its the best feeling.
really happy with it so far! after this day in particular I felt like it solidified this being the right electronics choice for now
Wake up to Greg fishing and me shaving before work, it’s gonna be a good day!!!
Merry Christmas to you and all your viewers!!! Jim
You should mount a camera to your rail and point it at the graphs for cut scenes!
I’m bout to get this set up.. super excited
That swivel seat looks like a nice feature. Especially for getting stuff out of your trunk and turning to the rear camera.
That seat would be perfect for my back. Love your set up man! The combination of the motor foot pedal system, and the native pedals is an awesome combination.
No spotlock motor? Glad you’re still fishing in a way that’s relatable to us budget kayak guys!
Haha right on. I mean this isn't technically a budget setup but I hear what you're saying. I think the cool thing about this kayak is I could treat it just like my slayer max 10 and go super minimal with gear, electronics, tackle, etc and it'd still be a productive fishing kayak
Hey Greg, like most folks say " great content" and as always I enjoyed the video. For me the verdict is still out on the new
setup. Don't get me wrong, that is a sweet setup and all the gadgets are nice as well. I also have a 10.5 pedal yak and must say I have it decked out nicely. But the setup is more like your previous yak. I have the 7" mega helix mounted to the side ( like your previous one ) along with crate, etc items behind my seat. For me, I like having my front clear. When watching the past two video's I know that you have to constantly me mindful of all the accessories you have around you from casting to landing the fish. I'm even wandering where you will place your net so that it's easy to grab without hitting something. There's not always a boat ramp where I like to fish so dragging the weight of that setup I'm sure would not be an easy task. I know how all the sponsorship works and most companies want as much of their products on whatever your showing and I get that but for what it's worth, just be careful and not loose the love you have of kayak fishing for bigger, better, more, etc. PS - your gonna miss that junk drawer !!!!!!!!
Shoot that might be one of your better days on that lake even with out the sonar! Awesome.
Right?! Berryessa actually cooperated haha
Any day out fishing is a blessing & catching fish makes it a great day. This morning on my way to work which is also the way to our local lake I passed a car on the freeway that was towing a trailer with a kayak in it it was a regular paddle type but was clearly for fishing I was like man that person is lucky here I am going to work at 7 am & they are 15 minutes away from the lake. Nice 🤙
So much fun watching you and your new kayak out on the water! I also appreciate how you incorporate the scenery and the wildlife you encounter! Thanks again for another great video, Greg👍🏼🙌🏼
It’s definitely a bummer when you can’t see your 2D sonar. I can’t live without it. The 360 is awesome man. Nice Kayak for sure! Thank you!
Good to see Danny or Mike forwarded you the go pro sun shade. Hope they help you out with the overheating
thing has worked like a charm!
love the set up !!!
Heck ya man.... good job on the up close look of the new X.
I'm excited to see you out the 360 to work, awesome setup
Always an exciting time dialing in the new boat! Congratulations! It looks great!🤙
Lake looks good.
Only fish finder needed is the one in your hand.👍🍻🍻
This was great, tough time of year on a tough lake with a new boat. Nice job Greg!
Good morning Y'all
Enjoy your adventures..looking forward to your season..good luck..🍀🎣
Awesome Greg. It will all come together soon. Just now becoming a patron and will upgrade soon. Thanks for the video
Top Of The Morning Greg ! Hope all is well for your holidays god bless and wish you a solid 2024!🙏🏻💯🎄
Greg, you look really comfortable with the graphs in front of you, and that swivel seat. I'm sure you'll, make some changes. Those were five nice keepers, and the boat's epic Bro. 💯 🛶 🎣
Really has been a smooth transition with graphs! Can't believe I had it to my left before this and always having to look down plus adjust, dont think I can go back to that!
Love your vids definitely love the new yak,,thinking really about getting this one
Great video thanks again
Greg getting serious with the 360! 2024 watch out for GB!!!
That mega 360 looks super! I also noticed you love the rotating seat without really realizing it. The drop shot has really been working for you this late in the season. Love the new boat and the dual screens I think is going to pay off in the future once you get them dialed in! Jim
Another awesome day on the water!!!
Watching you Greg with a cup of coffee
Man I might have to upgrade to the 10.5, looks good. Thanx for sharing 💯
Looks like you’re utilizing the swivel seat pretty good . thanks for the tips on the 360 I got to get one of those.
Hummingbird Mega 360 sales 📈
I love your content Greg! I Always learn SOMETHING in every one of your videos.. THANKS man, and Happy Holidays to you and yours..!!
Thank you John! Happy holidays
This is a dream layout….Wellll… with the second screen working. Lol ( something is telling you to add a ‘FFS’to your 360?) …Hard to learn a new tool set when you ‘left” you old ones at home.
Great video update 🍺🎣
Excellent day Greg. We had a somewhat similar issue in our small bass boat but once it was ironed out (connection accuracy issue like you) the Humminbirds worked extremely well. Thinking of fishing a tournament up there later next year. The lake looks beautiful and not that stingy!!!! However compared with the lakes around LA…..you had a bonanza day!!!
Thanks for sharing your adventure brother.
Always look forward to your video's try to time them with breakfast and coffee , Merry Christmas Greg !
Merry Christmas!
Greg you gotta do a video of the workout/stretch routine you do to keep from a stiff or sore back after a long day in the water.
now that would be a different style video on this channel haha. I can say right now to research some good hip flexor stretches to get started. General Hip mobility and stretching usually helps as well
Humminbirds are amazing and easy to use. For just 2 units you will need a Ethernet cord and a dongle to connect to each other. Also get the latest lake master maps, so badass how you can play and add colors to the contour lines to be more precise! I personally run 3 humminbird units and the garmin just for livescope. Also play with contrast and sensitivity for the 360, worth the money.
Perfection!
Nice Greg! I’m gonna suggest you sweet talk those little ones. Maybe they’ll remember you when it counts!
Sweet new Float Greg! The two Graphs in front like that looks killer!
Most important? Greg is where will the measuring board go😎?
Happy holiday’s Greg and everyone!
Don't be afraid to call HBrid themselves. Their custom service is really good!
Heyyooo morning people...
Hi Greg Enjoyed your Video like the 360 very cool Take care be safe 😎👍
I always enjoy watching your videos. I use Garmin Livescope, but I often rely on the monitor screen rather than focusing on fishing. There are times when I'm confused as to whether I'm playing a video game or fishing. We are considering changing to 360, which is optimized for identifying geographical features. Thanks for the great inspiration. I look forward to the day when Livescope and 360 combine.
you only need one ethernet cable to connect the two devices. The only time you need the ethernet box is if you are running more than two units. Also, go to you Sonar setup up to make sure you have the correct transducer selected. Hopefully you only Have one Side Imaging unit because that one unit will turn the Down Imaging into a SI. if you are sponsored than it won't matter.
Good morning from TN!! Got my Peet's in hand. There are few better ways to wait for a system update on my laptop 🤙🏼
Really nice setup Greg. I’d highly suggest you upgrade that keel guard. The one you got on is super thin. Berley pro is much thicker.
Looks like a perfect spot for a rotogrip between your graphs for a net. Awesome boat..might have to trade in my Max10
read my mind!
Try the forward view setting on the 360, the screen view is larger and easier to see.
Thanks for the great videos!
Great tip! will give it a shot
Would recommend getting some graph glass to protect the helixes. Seeing how close the peddles get when the drive is up is unnerving. Looks crazy though.
great call, didn't even know they made them. ordering some tonight, ty
Great video and congrats on the new boat Greg! So does the swivel seat lock into position(s) and where is your NET!
Thank you
You as well
Also sometime , you need to power 1 helix up at a time . Let it power up completely and start reading transducer . Then lower second unit up by itself and let it load . Sometimes when you power multiple units at same time on the network it will cause them to grab from another transducer or not read the one you want it to.
Somebody buy this man a set of self drain plugs for the front of his boat xD
Where's the net? Wow, that's an amazing platform and build!
when you come east ill meet you at Seneca launch .ive run 360 with live its all about choosing correct input and having correct transducer assigned to unit, i also run a lowrance graph for location, gps took me a year to figure it out.
You might need an Ethernet cable between the 2 units to share info????
Also, hit the "menu button twice and scroll all the way over to the right. That should take you to a system setting where you can turn on the setting to "share to another unit"!!! I hope this helps...it's hard to describe in a text format...lol!!!
Oh yeah, turn on the "Advanced" setting on your units...this will open pages that help you tune in better. Like I said before....very hard to explain over text, but mention these settings to your Humminbird buddy, hell know what I'm talking about. Wish I was there to help more...lol!!!! I love my Birds.
Nice vid Greg! Love your new rig and the 360. Just wondered how long it takes you to rig up prior to fishing and breakdown after your trip is over.
What about the net location?🤔
Morning from TN… question you mentioned switch to NK180? Can you explain the advantage again? Love the new boat! TY
You are going to need a
Humminbird AS ETH 5PXG Ethernet Switch to be able to network them together. Didn't see one on your rig. Goodluck and merry x-mas.
You may have it already but you need a ether net cable and a dongal . To network 2 helix units . More than 2 units you need the networking block to network more than 2 units together. You would not need the network box for just 2 units unless something has changed recently with how you network 2 units .
Kayak looks sick 👍 where’s the Livescope?!
Interested on your solution for storing your net and ketch board.
Board will be easy but I think I finally have a solution for the net that I'll test out in future videos
I find the 'Birds software to be finicky in the setup process. If you have your hub installed, you know it's working properly, and your menu settings are all correct for map sharing, then you may just have to play around with it until you get the master unit to recognize the rest of the network. The technical support may take a while to get a hold of, but they are quite helpful once you get a technician on the line. Every time I've set up a new boat with HB, I run into similar issues. I love my Hummingbird units though, and especially 360. Good luck.
I'm interested to hear how you will use the water temp when fishing going forward, since you haven't had it for several years. Thanks for posting!
Haha I can't believe I've gone this long without really having an accurate water temp. I dont think it'll hurt!
Nice kayak and set up. 👍 Do you have a power box inside your tackle box?
Great video. Could you tell me were you got the steering knob for your berlypro. And the name of it. Thanks and keep grinding out the content. Can't wait for the next video
Working out all the bugs before tournament season. I am trying to guess where you will be keeping your net now with all that gear.
thats been one of the hardest things to figure out but I think I have a solution that I'll be testing out in the weeks
Hi, what rail set up do you have for your fish finders? Looks amazing.
Coffee' video with GB. Ok? Lets do this!
one or both of the units maybe trying to grab the mega 360 image when it does that it will not read other transducers connected to the system if I’m not wrong or the other way around it reads the other transducers an want see the mega 360. You may need to go into the transducer selections on the head units and select each of the transducers you are wanting each unit to use for imaging on that said head unit
Hey love your channel. What is the brand of that kayak trail you use to tow it. I love that suspension that it sits on. I have a live water sport paddle board that I turned into a micro skill that would work great to transport it
You should try fishing in the Sutter Bypass. It’s not too far from you.
heard the mk300 is catching fire, be careful lol
How is the captains bridge mounted to the base? seems like a pretty quick install. greg pulled the graphs and bar and just threw it on. Anyone know how and what parts were used?
yep super easy, you'll need the yakattack locknload mounts
I like the new kayak. I have a question. Why didn’t you want the live sonar?
thanks Michael. It just felt like the right progression in graphs for me. I like the Side imaging on my previous graph so having the 360 SI seemed like a nice upgrade. I'll probably wait another year before contemplating a live sonar
I was really hoping for the first scupper release fish in the video.
Up grades are sweets, what are your thoughts by going with the 360 over the pan-optics?
If you have the ether net cable going from one to the other, you need to menu twice, scroll all the way over to right on the network menu and in that menu you tell each graph where the info comes from... name the graphs like Left and right....so you know which is which. You should have your 360 transducer plugged into one unit and your regular transducer plugged into the other....
